It's been a week since you passed but it feels like you're still around this world somewhere practicing your singing or dancing. Maybe you are in the studio writing songs...or maybe just hanging out with other SHINee members.

But I know, that's not true.

You're probably in a place you feel no pain and experience happier times. I hope that at least you get that.

I've been watching your videos and SHINee's videos a lot more this week.  As usual, it's fun but most of all, impressive. When it comes to dancing, there's so many idols that are talented but nothing compares to SHINee. I don't bother watching other idols dance challenge because SHINee is the best. 

I'm sorry that you had to go through pain.

Good bye Jonghyun. I love you and I miss you.

My Secret Romance

A classic rom-com vibe, it's an easy to watch drama with no fuss or frills because it's predictable.

It's a filler drama for me, I watched without any anticipation. The romance is cute and sexy but the humor is a little lacking, perhaps I'm just hard to please.

I find it frustrating about the cooking part. I don't know how can food be so unedible? It's not funny..How can people know what is nice to eat and not know how that their food taste horrible? The food even looks good. I cook messily but it's always edible.

The Best Hit Review

I think this is Cha Tae Hyun first time being on behind the scene and on the scene? As a fan of 1n2d, I had to watch this because PD Yoo Ho Jin is directing along side with Cha Tae Hyun! Yoon Shi Yoon plays the main character and various cameos by 1n2d cast also made this my must watch.

For a first drama, it's a good drama..just that I've seen a lot of drama and this is mediocre at best. Time travelling aspect to solve a mystery did nothing for me. I wasn't curious at all. My biggest problem is the romance. I want to ship but it's just a weird dynamic. Humor is there, but unless you watched 1n2d, you might miss some of it.

The dysfunctional family is fun to see, I love seeing a grandfather doting on his granddaughter. I wish the Alzheimer story was left out, it was unnecessary because it felt like Alzheimer was used for humor in a way?

I think if the story focuses more on one thing, it would be better. It tries to tell a lot of stories hoping that one might pull a heartstrings. It's like a weekend drama forced to be a weekday drama. This is also my first drama that is 30 mins long. I hate this format! 1 hour format is easier to follow!

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

From the title, it sounds like a superhero movie right? but the drama is more than just a story about our heroin, it's filled with a lot of cute moments and thriller. 

Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Shik has really good chemistry together and shippers will have a great time because their scenes are a lot. It's a little cringey for me but I'm sure a lot of shippers' heart loved every moment. The comedy is funny, especially because there's a lot of comedian cameos,

I love that the woman in the drama are the stronger figure but there were complains about domestic abuse with Bong Soon's parents. I take it as a comedy...because er, then what Bong Soon did looks like violence...you know what I mean? 

The ending though.. hahaha. 

Chief Kim Review

I tend to avoid office theme drama because I can't relate and I think it's hard not to compare to Misaeng which was THE drama to watch if you're going to watch an office theme drama. However Chief Kim is not the drama that want to be like Misaeng. It is a drama of it's own right.

Namgoong Min plays the titular character, is not an ordinary chief, he is all wacky and proud of it. He is the reluctant hero of the drama. His words are as refreshing like sparkling cider, his action is uniquely brazen. 

The lines created a buzz in Korea so this drama received a lot of attention. It garners a good ratings and so I was curious of the drama. I'm writing this months later from the last episode so my memory is a little hazy. I remember that I had a good feeling of this drama, 

It's an easy drama to watch, it has elements of mystery but the main point of watching this drama is for the crazy antics of Chief Kim. The bromance game is weak because they are enemies but it's there! Kim Jun Ho was my favorite 2PM member and seeing him playing the villain was a little odd for me but I'd say he did a great job. 

I probably would watch the drama someday just to refresh on it.

This is what happens when you haven't blog in a while...more update post than the actual post.

Last year I have been really diligent in writing drama review but this year I have been slacking off big time. I just don't find the inspiration to write as much. I do watch a substantial amount of drama, not as much as last year but quite a lot than I have expected. I'm not sure how to review a drama that I have watched months ago but I will try to remember. I'm not sure which drama is the oldest!

Music wise, I just don't feel like writing. There are good songs, but nothing made me sit up and write. I enjoyed a ton of songs from Produce 101 S2! JBJ is about to debut! Rainz just debut and Wanna One is about to comeback and I have not even review ANYTHING. GAWD.

Life wise, my life is pretty mundane.

I should not have the excuse not to blog more often.

Hallyusurfer Top 11 performance from Produce 101 S2

Please note that this is MY personal preference, of course you can't completely agree with me.




1. Shape of You by Center of You

The most memorable stage ever! I remember the first time i watched the stage, I was so in awed at the performance. It was perfection and I am sad none of them debut with Wanna One. Noh Tae Hyun is amazing. Please support HotShot. They just released Jelly and it's good!

2. Open Up by Knock

It's impossible not to love Kang Daniel after this performance. I know YongGuk is the center but Kang daddies were super duper hot. That thigh grabbing choreo by Kang Daniel is so sexy, Yoo Seonho shouldn't be allowed to be on the same stage. Jo HakNyeon, Im Young Min and Yoo Seonho may not originally chosen to do Open Up, I thought it worked out well for them. I really like DongHo in this song, I can't imagine anyone else does this song. Kenta is so different in this song, never thought he would suit the song but National producer did him good!

3. Always by Top 20

This song is so beautifully sad, my heart hurts! I really love how it marks the end of the show flawlessly. When I saw Minki and Seonho teared up, I want nothing more than to hug them.. poor babies.

4. I'm not the one you used to know by No Name

This song is my jam! I really like SMTM5 version but this is just as good! er Bewhy fans don't kill me. Woo Jin Young part is catchy but Lee Eui Woong threw me off guard. That kid can rap! Of course Sanggyunie is the big brother of the team did it flawlessly! The only regret that the team had Ha Min Ho.....who actually won 1st place. whaaaat. Editing was good but I really want to know how he won over Woo Jin Young AND Kim Sang Gyun??


5. Finale Pick Me, It's Me

Of course I had to pick the representative song! Pick Me, It's Me is a good production. I know it's like filled with a little arrogance (in Korean the feel is more apparent) but I like it's not as cringe worthy like the previous season. The finale is my top pick because Kang Daniel is the center!! He looks so good as center and I'm so glad he is the ultimate center!


6. Oh Little Girl by Slate

Although the genre is hip hop, the concept of the song is really cute. I thought the members are suits the song very well! Jung Se Woon as main vocal was a good choice and I like how the group seems like best friends. If I need a pick me up song, this song will be the one I search for because it's so bright and happy. I'm so proud to see Bae Jin Young shines in this song. Previously he was so painfully shy but he blossom in this song.

7. Never by Nation's Son

Ahh.. maybe the one that people would disagree on my list. I just like Open Up and Oh Little Girl better! The highlight of the song is definitely when Kim Jae Hwan belts out while the rest on their knees! It was such an awesome movements.


8. Playing with Fire by 119

I actually like this rendition better than the original! It's more powerful and the stage presence of each members shines a lot. Lee Dae Hwi with the confetti, Jung Se Woon should always have a guitar, DIVA Choi MinKI is exploding with charisma and Dongho.. is just so manly, I never thought he would pick a female song and made it his own!

9. Downpour by NiNaNo

Kim Jae Hwan and Ha Sung Woon vocals is pure bliss. Yoon Ji Sung and Hwang Min Hyun clear, soft and stable vocals supports the two powerhouse and not forgetting our Hyunbin adds flavors to the whole vibe. While Hyunbin would be better off in rap, I'm glad he choose to do this song because it made the song more memorable.

10. Hands On Me

It's actually tie with Super hot, don't make me pick. It's only 10 because it had more members from Wanna One. Lyrics are sexy without being too obvious. I don't like the harmonization in this song, I think Bass part is too loud. I prefer Sewoon and Kim Jae Hwan only control the harmonization.

11. Super Hot

Honestly this isn't my kind of song, I do like happy song but I prefer if it was more cute than fun. Im Young Min part is too good to ignore! Megaton Bomb is iconic. Whether you like the song or not, you would find yourself humming to the song after listening to it even once.

Wanna One Facts from Produce 101 S2

Tomorrow With You

Tomorrow With You is the first drama that I watched in real time in 2017, it was an easy choice because I loved both Lee Jae Hoon and Shin Min Ah so much. Lee Jae Hoon nose is an art I can stare all day.. okay I'm exaggerating but his nose is very distracting! Shin Min Ah is my girl crush too so I'm busy alternating between Lee Jae Hoon's nose and Shin Min Ah's beauty.

Story wise, I thought it was interesting, using subway as a method of time-travelling was a fresh idea. I like the purpose of time-travelling correlating with the romance. The whole idea is perfect in my opinion but the execution was poor. I don't like the directing of the drama, not a fan of the filter used in the drama.

Even if I like Shin Min Ah very much, I thought her character is annoying at times. In fact both main characters are annoying. I feel frustrated at times and I don't enjoy feeling frustrated. I thought the villain could rival Voice's villain. That was really messed up, I didn't come thinking I would get that kind of plot.

The drama leaves with much too desired, I wished the idea is given to a better writer who can write with a better characters. It has the potential to be good.

I feel weird to write in this space because it's been a long while since the last. I have more than 5 dramas to write reviews on, but you betcha I forgot most of it. I just want to do a simple note just to remind my future self that I have watch some drama.

I've watched P101 S2 and I'll be writing on that too! I thought of doing a video but I think research alone is very time consuming and Wanna One would be debuting this week so I guess it's too late..so I'm just going to blog what I have drafted out. 

My blog post won't be as regular as last year but I will make sure I at least post all the dramas I've watch. 

Now that this has gone out of my system, I can write my reviews in peace lol.
