Voice Review

This is my first completed drama of the year!

Voice is a mystery thriller drama starring Jang Hyuk (Beautiful Mind) and Lee Hana (Unkind Women). The drama is about a talented policewoman specialize in call center. The two main character is connected with a case involving the lives of their love ones. They team up to solve the serial murder case in a team called Golden Time.

Lee Hana's character Kwon Joo is akin to Park Do Young character in Another Oh Hae Young, where she uses her hearing talent to listen sound details. What impress me that how the director made it seem realistic. Park Do Young felt supernatural, which isn't odd because the drama has a fantasy element but the director uses the talent in a way that it doesn't make it seem unrealistic. My favorite personality trait from Kwon Joo is that she is a firm lady that gets work done. Even when she face critical moment, she is able to stay calm and focus on saving victims.

On the surface, Jang Hyuk's character Jin Hyuk is like his nickname "Crazy Dog". There were few moments that made me scared that he was going to do what he said he would. Jin Hyuk has a strong character that I think is very admirable. He would uses his strength but he would not cross the line.
I think this is the best character played by Jang Hyuk thus far, I believed that if Jin Hyuk existed in real life, we would have a safer world to live.

This drama is heavily censored to my dismay. I actually felt so bad for the make up team and props team because I read from interviews from the actors claiming how realistic the props and make up done. I'd say some story may lead to nightmare even with censors but it's quite bearable. I actually watch the drama before bed! I did get stress from thinking too deep though, I just feel sad when incidents in the drama could have happen in real life. Police don't necessarily have a good reputation in real life.

I accidentally read some spoilers but it didn't spoiled the experience. The ending is a little odd, and I think the writer leaves it to our imagination but I am satisfied that both main characters felt whole again with the case closed. If there's a season 2, I hope it maintains the same team.

Dokkaebi review

I forgot.

I have finished the drama long ago...but I completely forgot about writing a review.

Basically, my memory of the drama is nothing but the bromance of Goblin and Grim Reaper.

It is me the problem. I don't particularly like too much fantasy elements in a drama. I think my brain can only handle one fantasy element at a time.

Perhaps the best description of what I have watch is the compilation of Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook and Sung Jae cuts. I want to love In Na and Go eun but they just aren't my favorite character. OOhh I just remember the red lady was freaking hot. Girl crush!

Watching Goblin feels like it was written by a fangirl. Their reactions are so adorable and actually odd because of the theme. I feel like if the cuteness factor is tone down, I would probably enjoyed the drama better but in the same time..seeing cutie ajaes is life. Haha

My brother likes it more than me..I would always remember this drama because it was trendy but I can't see myself watching this drama for the 2nd time.

Neo Culture Technology

My latest obsession. *insert heart eyes

I was so sure that I wasn't going to be a fan because I thought that this group is too complicated and I don't want to spend my time remembering too many names. I obviously failed because I have memorize all the members that have debuted.

My favorite unit is NCT Dream, I can't help that I'm more drawn to cute concept. I really adore the kids and I felt like my motherly instinct just comes out whenever I see them. Like there are not boyfriend material for me, they are maybe sons or even son-in-law material if I had a baby...arhh maybe not. I'm not that old! Thankfully.

Jaemin and Jeno are two member that has beautiful smiles, I can totally see them growing up to be handsome men. I think Jisung looks very obviously maknae. I didn't have to wonder who is the maknae when I first saw the pictures. Maybe Chenle though, he is my favorite member in the group because he is just a happy son I love to watch. I'm glad Renjun is there, his Korean is quite good, I didn't think he's Chinese at first.

I couldn't get into NCT vibe earlier on because I don't actually appreciate Taeyong's voice. I know shocking because I always say I love unique voice. I don't think Taeyong has a unique voice, I think his voice is digitally manipulated and I'm not fond of that.

Now I'm warming up to the color of his voice, it's just acceptable and I hope next comeback, I can hear his voice not being altered. The main vocalist of the group game is going strong. Jae Hyun had that typical SM feel but I am so surprised that Taeil, Do Young and Yuta had skills that is more common in the Khip hop world, I can't really differentiate their voice yet but I love them all.  Hae Chan voice is so noticeable. I knew immediately it is his voice in every songs. He is quite young though, has his voice break? I hope that is his voice!

The foreigners, if you didn't tell me which one is foreigner.. I don't think I can tell.. that is the power of SM styling.. I'm not exactly praising..I don't get SM style these days, it's very odd and not really love at first sight. I just get used to see and just feel meh afterwards. Ten is perhaps my favorite Thai in KPop. I love he got a lot of fans missing him and I hope SM makes him promote sometime soon. Winwin is SM typical Chinese type. Do they cast Chinese from academy? Since he is not really fluent in Korean yet, he doesn't have much lines. I hope he improves more and get comfortable. Yuta is perhaps the most famous member because he was previously on Abnormal Summit, a show that features guest from all around the world. I didn't think he would have a great voice (usually SM cast foreigner based on performance factor)

Newest member, but not exactly new, Johnny got people hyped because he is a longtime trainee. I usually don't keep up with trainee but I noticed he is always in performance video predebut. What's up with that SM? I heard rumors that he suppose to debut with China line but it was halted due to the Hallyu Ban in China so he debut with NCT 127 instead.

We cannot talk about NCT without mentioning Mark. The kid is amazing. He fits well in all 3 sub units. I think his greatest asset is his attitude and personality. I'm praying hard he doesn't change and remain humble. All of his speech is very matured and sincere. I am not worry about him being very hardworking. A lot of fans had complaint that SM doesn't give him rest but this kid is young and this is the time where he pushed himself to the limits. There will be a time for him to rest and as long he says he is happy with the arrangements, I think what we can do as a fan is to support him well.

Wolgyesu Gentleman Tailor Shop

Usually when I finish a weekend drama, I feel a little empty because I spend a lot of time with it but this drama I honestly felt nothing as in, couldn't be bothered. just like any ole day.

The main leads is perhaps the most boring couple I have ever watched in a weekend drama. I mean, Bluebird House is still my worst weekend drama but at least the couples were cute. I like Lee Dong Gun, I like Jo Yoon Hee, however together? Bleh. Ironically they recently announced that they are dating in real life. I can't say I'm happy, congratulations anyway! Hopefully this relationship will lead to marriage, Lee Dong Gun-ssi.

The saving grace of this drama for me is Park Jung Eum. She should have won the Best Couple award with Ah-Choo Couple! LOL. As much she tried to be the villain of the drama, I find her adorable and endearing. Min Hyo Sang is the main villain of the drama but I never come to hate him.. I don't think he is a bad actor either...For me, I didn't like his wife the most. Her character should appear more often and stronger however that didn't happen so I find the makjang for this drama quite lacking.

Dong Sook and Tae Pyung couple is the most lovable one but they don't appear much. I don't know why the writer don't make them the main couple instead. It's so cute when Taepyung accepted Dongsook's daughter as his own. My hearts feel so much warmth when I see the couple on screen.

I had a lot of expectation for Cha In Pyo and Ra Miran couple but they honestly are the typical long term Korean couple. It's good for them to be realistic but I wish they was more story to their relationship. They obviously look very business couple.

While I think the makjang factor of this drama is lacking. I think I never rolled my eyes so much for a drama. I think their reactions and actions to every situation is just too over the top and I hate when the solution to the problem is so obvious.

Despite being the theme of the drama, the suit making isn't making me learn anything about suits. I think it is a miss opportunity to encourage people to purchase custom suits. Earlier in the show, I did have a glimpse of it but it's put on the back burner.

I'm sorry to compare but I'm reminded of a Japanese drama "Carnatian" which I really love and I learn so much for the drama. I love that they show how style evolved and why the main character grew fond of becoming a tailor. I was wishing this drama would do something similar to that.

Solomon Perjury (Korean Drama)

I think I have mention enough times that I love school dramas because there's something about puppy love that gets me giddy. The romantic side of first, innocent and pure love just gets me cooing. Right now, I don't know if I will continue to watch school drama. I guess due to age factor and the fact it doesn't revolve around school romance makes my love for school drama lessen.

I graduated from college 6 years ago! Feeling in love with someone who's wearing a uniform is no longer cute, it's kinda creepy even if it's just a drama. I cannot watch the drama and not think of my age.

Mystery drama isn't my favorite drama, so I was a little reluctant to watch this drama at first despite my love for school drama. the first few episode felt a little slow and draggy. I was just a little curious but not on the edge of my seat. The factor that made me watch the show is the friendship in the drama.

The characters are well thought out, I think the story is quite interesting at some point but it's mostly draggy for my liking. I don't see myself watching it again but it's not a terrible drama. It's feature cast that are new in the scene and I can see them being the leads of the future. I hope they grow up healthily and soon, I don't have to feel creepy fawning over them. ahaha

I have one complaint though.. why is it all the Korean school drama I've watched always had someone attempt to commit suicide? I feel so uncomfortable.

Romantic Doctor Kim Review

First of all. HI!

It's been a while since I last blog and I usually try to blog as soon as I finish drama so I'll end up writing more frequently but I just feel a little lazy this time around now that I have cut down tremendously on watching Kdrama.

I recently revert back to Kpop.. I probably should start blogging more on that but that takes too much effort from me. It's been like 2 months since I last watch Romantic Doctor Kim... I really should have write this post sooner.

Anyway I have always write for myself, all dramas I have watched since the beginning of this blog, I never miss out on writing it on this blog. I shall crack my brain and try my best to come up with a decent review.

Unlike other drama, this drama actually was not on my radar. I don't think I see much promotion on this drama and actually assume that this drama will just premiere this year because I was not expecting to see Seo Hyun Jin this soon in the drama. I still love her character in Another Miss Oh and I almost dropped this drama.

I took my time to watch this drama.. probably tuned in after 2 weeks. I was so shocked at the first 2 episode of the drama because it had a lot going on. Honestly the hype did died down a little after the first 2 episode but it was still very engaging. I don't know whats with the obsession of office politic in Korean medical drama. At least this time it was a little bearable?

The cases are nothing unique but I enjoyed seeing them in action, I love the quirks of the character and I thought just like Jealousy Incarnate, they manage to tell each characters story well. I groan when I found out Doctors had 20 episode but when Romantic Dr. Kim had more, I was delighted. I really love Dr. Kim's voice! It's perhaps  my favorite voice in Kdrama.

I found out that the word "romantic" in Korean doesn't exactly have the same meaning in English.. so yeah I was a little bummed out because Yeon Suk and Hyun Jin looked pretty good together. I would love to see them star in a real romantic drama!

Overall, I loved the drama and I do see myself watching it again.

Koreamie~!

Hello! It's end of May and this my first post of the year. *nervous laugh It's okay..because nobody read this blog right? haha. ...
