Cafe Seoul Review

I just finished watching the movie! :D

It's a nice movie, I could watch it all over again just to see John Hoon! My only disappointment is that Kim Dong Wook had less screen time! *sigh When can he have bigger roles?

My biggest excitement is that John Hoon (Kim Jeong Hoon) and Kim Dong Wook are bothers!! My two favorite people are brothers? *Screams!

I want to be the spoiler giver today so if you don't like spoilers, stop reading.. It's a nice movie, watch it! If not to you, you still can see John Hoon all day!

Spoiler

A Japanese freelance writer (Jun) was in Seoul to search ideas to write a Korean shop review, he stumble upon an olden street corner with a traditional cafe call Morandang. It used to be a family business but it was only run by one person name Sang Woo.

The shop was empty with Jun the only customer until an old woman, a loyal customer comes in. Fortunately for Jun, the old woman could speak Japanese because her late husband was Japanese. She had a chat with Jun telling stories of the shops..Jun realize the story is similar to his story and decided to choose the shop to write an article.

At first Sang Woo was hesistant but he give in after saw Jun sincerity. It look like all good things are going to happen until Mafias enter the shop asking Sang Woo to sign letters to give the shop to them because the area is up for development. Sang Woo refuse and fights with them because of their comments towards his father legacy.

The argument cause Sang Woo to have his hand injured so the shop couldn't be operated. Sang Hyuk, Sang Woo's brother was spotted in the hospital. The old woman asked him to replace Sang Woo but he refuse.

Sang Hyuk left home to pursue his dream but sudden hearing loss made his life miserable. After an advise by his old friend, Sang Hyuk realize that he wants to learn more about his childhood memory. With the help of Jun under Sang Woo guidance, Sang Hyuk worked hard to perfected his skills.

When the shops reopened, the shop face another trials with having court orders to change the shop name (Morandang). Furious with the court order, Sang Hyuk visit the shop that shared the same name. There was his brother, Sang Jin whom returned from Europe and operates the Cafe.

Sang Jin had big dreams to expand his business but Sang Hyuk had a different thought about their family business. Coincidentally, the same Mafia also co-owns Sang Jin's Cafe ask the brothers to have a challenge.

On the day of challenge, Sang Jin presented high quality desserts while Sang Hyuk challenge with the traditional desserts. Sang Hyuk won because his last dessert was nostalgic that made the Mafia's boss teared. The shop was full of memories of the place so he gave in to Sang Hyuk. Sang Jin realize he lost and smiled with his brother achievements.

THE END.

Simple movie, but still interesting.. Actually from my spoilers you wouldn't know that the story is actually revolves around Jun and Sang Hyuk. Jun had his own story that is also interesting, you can watch it yourself but I did give a lot of spoilers!
