Idol Analysis : B.A.P.

Based on my knowledge, I don't think there's ever a rookie who worked as hard as BAP! A total of 6 songs were promoted this year! I'm very impress on what TSE has done with this group, but seriously, I think they're overworked! Magnae Zelo is still growing, I hope you gave them enough rest when Stop It promotion ends. Let's focus on Secret okay? I miss Untouchable too.. i think they'll return next year TSE fighting!

I wasn't sure if I was going to watch Stop it MV because I read it's 90's music inspired. I'm a fan of 90's music but I'm not liking the idea of bringing back old genre kind of thing..Retro song is always fun (nobody, roly poly, twinkle, madonna) but it gets stale quick. 

What do ya know, as soon as I click play, I love it! I wonder if it's the combination of beautiful video (the colors are soo pretty!) and fun music or just the bright concept, I felt so happy to play the video. 

I'm thankful that I've learn their names before this promotion starts, they're blond again!! I only started learning their names while watching their weekly idol episodes. I already know Bang Yong Guk, Zelo and HimChan, so I only had to learn 3 names. They actually had different features..but it can be confusing when they shared the same hairstyle.. good luck if you're a new fan! Let me help you for a bit, Bang Yong Guk is the main actor, DaeHyun is the one who drives the car, Zelo and JongUp in the classroom, curly hair is Zelo...Young Jae is the one with flowers and HimChan kinda slap the girl.

I'm all for cutesy video but some fans didn't like it too much.. During Crash promotion it's a little weird because they were all badass in previous 3 promotion.. But instead of seeing it as cutesy, I thought they were having fun. I think they are only cutesy in the video, I am expecting another round of fun performance. Musically I think they have showcase their true self even if it's a different concept.

I would rank BAP songs as follows, Warrior> Stop It> No Mercy > Crash> Power > Secret Love

SM TSE Brand New Music

Those are the name of my favorite entertainment company, SM Town will always remain no1 in my heart and definitely on my bucket list is to watch SM Town concert tour live! My first love begins with SM Town Summer/Winter MV.. Gosh bring them back SM!! Anyway SM is huge company right now with lots of A list stars from Variety, Drama and Movie joining SM! Welcome to SM TOWN! I dare to say this, without SM, Kpop will never be the same. Kpop Hallyu begins with SM!

Back when I first started, I like JYP and YG too but times have change, I no longer support JYP after the whole 2PM Jaebum incident.. I still like YG artiste, but not as much as before. YG Family fans are way dedicated than I am..

I did like "in the Cube" (lol JunHyung) for a while, but naah.. They don't really have promotion overlapped, so I don't see interaction that often..or simply I don't care. I'm more interested in Five girls (G.na, Yoobin, Uee, HyoSung and Jiwon) or JunHara or MBLAQBeast.

I've been a fan of TSE ever since Untouchable debut. I like that the management in TSE give full control to Untouchable regarding their music, that's why Untouchable is my bias duo! I've been following Secret even before their debut, and now with BAP.. This company is just getting started! 

Lately I'm crazy over Phantom and Verbal Jint which hails from Brand New Music! Not a day gone without listening to them! I'm just starting to like this company but I regularly read tweets  by @BN_Music. I tweeted about Phantom several times. That means, I am in love with their stuffs. Oh gosh, what a great break from the usual Kpop. I am not the biggest hip hop fan but somehow I really like K Hip Hop. I can't really pinpoint when I know this group but heck let's just talk about music on this post.

1. Oh man, having announcers in songs is not something new anymore. I like it makes it more interesting but you know "been there, done that". As one is a duo that you can instantly recognize because of their signature voices. I like it, but I get dizzy whenever I tried to follow their style lol. They kinda not needed in the song, because all they did was "Phantom City, Phantom City babe, every city we go, we bring them down" oh gosh the English sound off but I guess it's cool to have a break.

2. I have to admit that I was less impressed with Burning when I first heard/saw it because I had major expectation. I was sooo crazily in love with Sanchez featuring on Verbal Jint's "You Deserved Better" (which I already reviewed) and I thought this song did not served justice to Sanchez amazing vocals. Of course, this song grows on me, like who am I kidding? This is the perfect mainstream song. I don't even think I'm making sense. Well, the other songs are kind of weak for mainstream. So good choice as promotion song!

3. This song featured Verbal Jint and Swings. I'm a sucka for hometown. I love people who give shout outs to their hometown because hometown is awesome! no? It's like learning how Phantom come about. All of them are proud of their hometown and that's like something I highly respect. Kolopis and Miri FTW!!

4. Ahem. Since my birthday is coming very soon...Happy Birthday to ME! I am going to play this song all day on 3rd October. The lyrics of this song is so cute and adorable. Seaweed Soup is usually served to the birthday girl/boy in Korean culture, um, do google for more info. Oh do I have to say I love the piano intro since that's like in every review? I just, want to say thank you to Phantom for creating for a great birthday song. You don't have to give me anything, all I need is this song. :D Kiggen voice in this song is sooo good. I like the random adlib here and there. It makes the song very personal.

5. Another sweet song..oh my heart can't take it. I'm here!! HanHae really shines in this song. Oh gosh..I need to pinch something because this is just too sweet. Kiggen's part is my favorite part, very masculine in this fluffy song. What can I complain about this song? Nothing. This song is so much love. Sanchez, you can sing anything and I'll just listen to you. Heck join Immortal song 2. Pretty please?

6. Ice..is fun and exciting but not my style of song. It may sound familiar because it sample another song. It sounded very retro..Retro songs is kind of hard to like...it sound a lot cheesy. It's just me folks. Even though I don't like it, it's not a bad track at all. I think it's a great thing that they include this song because it just show that this group can be versatile.



7. I need to include the above video, it's just like a video worthy more clicks than PSY Gangnam Style. Okay I'm entering a dangerous territory, but it's freaking good! I love this song way too much. JYP whisper? Pfft. Phantom whisper is EPIK. I'm not a lyricist, but I don't think the lyrics are creepy.. Basically it meant that he looked at her photo all the time, so he wonders if her face has hole because of it..okay that sound creepy but it's a great addictive song that can make you hit that replay button over and over. Sanchez vocals in this song is damn good but my favorite part is HanHae's, his voice is awesome! Heck even Kiggen sounded great.

A kdrama update

I've been wanting to post on KDrama but haven't got the chance because I was busy. The dramas that I have watched recently are Big, Ghost and The Chaser...let me start in order.

Big gave me nothing but BIG disappointment, lol my attempt with puns.. Either I had high hopes because it was written by Hong Sisters..or it was just bad. I like to think it was just bad. I love the cast, Lee Min Jung, Gong Yoo, Shin and Suzy did a good job potraying their characters. Which usually is enough for me, since Gong Yoo is dreamy..but no I just hate the story.

It's like dream high 2.. Great characters but major fail in plots. It just do not connect well. Frankly I don't even remember the story because I cannot relate to it. Everything about it don't sit well with me especially the possible of cheating story..

I loved Ghost! I thought it's another body swaping story but it's not! Instead of focusing on how Park Ki Young took Kim Woo Hyun identity, it focuses on the conspiracy. While we already know who's the murderer, I am so intrigue with how he did it. It's nothing revolutionary but the precaution measure he did was exceptional. Every episode I wondered how??? And the answers are given. I hate seeing several characters died and Jo Hyun Min was a heartless man. Love the ending... I mean between Mad Cow and Potato face... I wished So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee kissed... What a waste between two incredible looking people. *wink

No doubt I am rooting for The Chaser to sweep all the awards at the end of the year. I love every single episode. I love all the actors and the characters. There is absolutely nothing I would change. I even don't mind the lack of romance because all I wanted is Baek Soo Jung justice! Wait, I remember something.. i would want to change PK Joon actor. He doesn't look like the typical idol. Like come on la...you don't have to pick an actual idol but at least pick someone who looks like one! His acting is good but no one in Kpop looks like him.

All these dramas had ended. Currently I am onlywatching SM's drama To the Beautiful you because HaeunDae Lover is not my style..it's supposedly funny but I find it forceful. Faith is a fusion drama.. I don't know la..I think I'll skip that one just because. My husband got a family has ended in Korea...i watched unsubbed version on YT. I'll be waiting for KBSWorld though just to relive it. i'll be so sad. Family dramas is just so heartwarming!!

I'm loving Verbal Jint feat Sanchez You Deserve Better

I am crazy over this song. So crazy, I probably used up all my internet data on this song. What I don't like in this song? Nothing. It's flawless in my book. The MV? Even better! It's not like a typical Korean MV. it has a clever interpretation and has it's quirks.

Let's start with the composition. The lovely guitar in the beginning, then we started off with Sanchez beautiful vocal. What is not making you stay to listen more. Verbal Jint raps is good. It's not those fast talking raps...it actually has rhythm. Lyrics, poetic~! It's about domestic violence..Verbal Jint is telling the victim that they are pretty enough to move on and that they deserved better than this. I've read a couple stories regarding victims of domestic violence, I notice the common reason they stayed in those unhealthy relationship because they thought they won't get a better relationship..Girls and Boys! We don't deserve violence no matter what the damn reason is.

The video...should I talk about it? Ahaha I think it's better for you to watch it first before continue reading because I will tell you spoilers. Apparently Verbal Jint is the dog. Which is why he was staring at Sangchu(the abuser guy is actually a rapper too of Mighty Mouth) cheating.. You can see that at the end of the video that the actress first leaves with Verbal Jint and camera transition with the dog.. Which is really clever if you think deeper. An abuser is no better than a dog. AHAHAH. For the life of me, I think I have seen the actress drama before but I don't know which drama.. I think it's a daily drama or something. Don't she looks like Heo Yi Jae? or maybe she is? grr.

Hwayoung issue

T-ara truly tarnish all my Kpop dreams.. Not that I was naively believing Kpop is the dream world in the first place..it's like you just don't want to know the bad side of your parents kind of infos.

A couple while ago, I made a list of my favorite girl groups.. T-ara was one of them..so imagine how disappointed am I, but ironically my previous post is hating their new song. LOL

I never understood why management thought add new member is a good idea. Sure After school seems fine, but the management has told early on from their debut that will be their concept.

To be honest, Hwayoung was just meehh. I didn't particular like her or hate her.. I just thought it was unnecessary. T-ara is likeable to me only for their songs..and occasional drama or variety show. Their line distribution is horrible. There's too much emphasize on Hyomin, EunJung and JiYeon. It clearly do not benefit the members.

However that doesn't mean I think Hwayoung deserved to be treated like this. I don't know how to they come to this decision and excute in such a unproper manner or rather stupid way.

If I was the CEO, I would have let Hwayoung take a long break and until a certain period, I would forced Hwayoung to terminate the contract on her own accord. The reason could be varied..she wants to focused on studies or maybe wants to venture in acting. Ahem, if I was a genius evil CEO.

Give fans time is always the better way instead of this rash action.. It happen within a week after that scandalous tweet..surely that sound rushed. Sure Hwayoung could have commit several troublesome act but as I see it, it's not enough to be called contract termination.

If Hwayoung is keen on reveal that she was wrongly terminated.. She should have sued Kim Kwang Soo then. Do not make us the fans do several guesses because our imagination is unlimited. Cryptic tweeting about it is not the answer. Write a blog about it, maybe held your own press conferrence.

Do I think Hwayoung is bullied? Plausible. T-ara is famous for being overworked..all that tension must be channel somewhere right? I think Hwayoung termination is about her tweets..she seems have tendency to reveal stuffs. Ceo probably threaten her not too..but I guess she ignores it and he looses it and just announce it. Why I think it is like that? Because he later claim if Hwayoung apologize that she would have the chance to returned.

Wtf. THE DAMAGED IS DONE. T-ara is highly unlikely to make a good comeback. Unlike 2PM, majority fans had turned anti fan. Usually I could find some fans who would stood by their idols no matter what but get this, their largest fan site will be shutdown. That's a big message, right there!

It's sort of not intended pun..but then it's sort of true.. I have no idea what's going on CCM Ceo mind by adding new members in T-ara..

I can't listen to the song more than a minute.. I tried, it's just so not my music style. The chorus was such a let down.. It sound familiar..in a bad way. There's something about the music arrangement that got me cringed.

The rap part was somewhat okay..but it just feel like fast talking instead of rap.. Not one thing of the song that I like..and it's not one of those song that I would gradually like. Sure, I could be singing parts of it but I would hate myself afterwards.. like G.na's 2HOT. That..oh gosh, like what's wrong with Korean listeners? WHY you like that song??

Kpop song are always catchy..but erghh..not all I'm proud of liking.

Top 20 KPop You should Know!

Continued from the previous post...it's way too long, I had to separate into two parts! Here are my TOP 20!!

20. Bubble pop - Hyun A Love the song, hate the MV. This is one rare moment when I wished I had listen to the song first then watch MV because the MV ruined it for me. I can barely sit through the whole MV. Super uncomfortable to watch her dancing, and I'm just disappointed that was the concept of the song. The song is bubbly cute but the MV urgh.

19. Dirty Cash - Big Bang   Usually a meaningful song has that mellow feel to it right? But this song is so much fun. I love the MV a lot ahaha. Suddenly image of cross dressing TaeYang comes to mind. I love they're poking fun while still making sense. Yeah, no I don't want your dirty cash~!

18. Noona Nomu Yeppo ( Replay) - SHINee I'm still waiting for SHINee to sing a song like this again. They initially was set to be sort of hip hop ish..but then they're just regular Kpop group again. I love the progress of SHINee but I wish to see something different and not just in fashion.

17. This Song - 2AM The lyrics are sad. So there's a Malaysian who got the rights to cover in this song in Malay and I'm distraught, why JYP why?! The key point of the song is essentially the lyrics..the feel and it should be sung by the right people! I also don't get why he didn't pick other JYP songs.. This song should be sung by singers who are

16. I don't care - 2NE1 I'd say this is a female power anthem, this song is sassy fun and the video is fun too...that is if you're a female. Now let's move our hands to side to sides girls! LOL "I don't Care eh eh eh e~!"

15. Rainism - Rain Oh boy. There's no one else sing about themselves so proudly like Rain.. I don't even know why I place this among Top 20 but this song is crazily parodied. From the intense head-face-body rubbing to the slick cane dance moves, slick dance moves can be easily turned into hilarious parody. Don't watch the MV, watch performance then watch parody. You'll have a good time. Lol

14. Tell Me - Wonder Girls This song that started out the Wonder Girl craze, the retro concept is wildly popular not only to idol fans but their grandmothers as well. While I don't know the dance well, when this song is at it's peak..almost everybody could dance to this song. Who could forget Sohee's Omona part.. Lol. my favorite part.

13. U - Super Junior Heck yeah. I am bias... NO ONE can take number 13 other than Super Junior. Instead of blabbering countless positive adjectives for this song, I'll tell you the story of my first listen as told by my brother. My brother likes Asian music earlier than I do, one day he told me about this song and he apprently said that I dislike the song. After I became SuJu fan, he told me that I didn't like the song.. I was shock because I don't remember ever that I dislike the song...so yeah fail as E.L.F.

12. I know - Seo Tae Ji and boys I have heard countless of idols or MC said how Seo TaiJi and Boys is the pioneer of Kpop..say what? Well it is true in some ways but I'm in no position to argue.. I have heard covers probably more than 10 times..but I have never actually heard of the original in full. All 3 members are quite controversial.. Seo TaiJi was secretly married to actress Lee Ji Ah..only discovered when they were divorcing, both Yang Hyun Suk (YG boss) and Lee Juno married a much younger person.. Their life is much more interesting..than the song.

11. Mirotic - DBSK Sigh, as a Kpop fan, if I were to introduce a Kpop artiste to a non fan, I would probably introduce DBSK because no other Kpop group as perfect as them. Think of Kpop greatest leader, it's YunHo.. Think of Kpop best vocal, it's JunSu..but JaeJoong and Changmin's vocal are not to be underrated, they're very solid too. All the best can be found in DBSK. SIGHHHH..anyway, Mirotic is a word coined by JaeJoong..I forgot what the meaning, but well, I prefer the Korean title, JuMon which means spell/magic...makes more sense.

10. Mister - Kara SHAKE YA BUTTS~! No matter what they do, they will always be remembered by this song.  Who has not watch their performance is seriously missing out...okay maybe not, but it's fun to watch ut anyway..

9. Heartbreaker- G Dragon GD first solo single, proving that he is extremely influential in Kpop. Whatever he does, everyone swoons.. All of his single in the album is solid. If you dislike the usual kpop generics, perhaps this one is up to your alley.

8. Lonely - 2NE1 Auditioners of Kpop competition loves to cover this song.. I would too, since this song has lots of different element and I can relate to it's lyrics. At one point in everyone's life..there are moments we felt lonely right? Check out the acoustic version, that's a better version in my opinion.

7. Abracadabra - Brown Eyed Girls I don't care how popular this song is, I still hate this song. The auto-tune is beyond I could ever handle.. the concept is thumbs down, the MV is not my cup of tea..dance was okay, only after I have watched countless parody. I especially hate the song because it was totally different from what they had promote before.. Like LOVE, that's awesome..Eojada was awesome...this is like woah why?! It's shockingly different.

6. T.O.P. - ShinHwa Have I told you that Koreans love their acronym? yeah? Well I didn't tell you that the acronym are usually funny. Twinkling of Paradise, that's what it stands for, no joke. In this song has more acronym..like DRC (Dangerous, Risky, Crazy) and MIL (Millenium Innocent Love) wtf..but jokes aside, T.O.P. Big Bang and Teen Top names are based on this song. It's a mega hit and idols love to cover this song not only because the song is good but the choreography too!

5. Lies - Big Bang Featuring Gummy! Well, the girl in the beginning is Gummy's voice. Along with Tell Me, this is one of the biggest hits in 2007. There's so many cool easy choreography in this song. My personal favorite is T.O.P. Pointing and circle move..LOL I pretty much know the dance by heart, and I sux at dancing.

4. Tell me your wish (Genie) - SNSD The similarities of the song listed in this chart is it's always covered and parodied. This is no different, but it's the message of the song that made it so favorable to be covered. It has that sexy yet cute vibe..that is right. My all time favorite SNSD song.

3. Sorry Sorry - Super Junior Where do I start, the dance is so dang good! The beats are awesome! Sorry Sorry is very likeable for many reason. If you never heard of this song...don't call yourself a Kpop fan, like, this is serious..you can't call yourself a Kpop fan if you have not listen to this song.

2. Gee - Girls' Generation Gapss..How could this song be just no.2??!! It freaking won more than 9 music ranking chart awards.. It overturned KBS ban on SM artiste, yes..this song is definitely worthy No.1 but I can't change it. Koreans love this song, and I love it too. No hate okay.

1. Nobody - Wonder Girls Even my dad knows this song.. I can go any random space for sure there would have another person who knows this song. When it first come out, I love it..but if you play the song next to me now, I'd probably runaway by the first beat. I can not stand this song anymore. I have listen to every single version and I certainly don't need to listen any new ones. Recently it was rereleased in Japanese, I just can't even think. WHYYYYYYY?!  It's a good song no doubt but it's so overplayed..

Top 10 is sure hard.. The last one written in the whole list was Abracadabra..because it didn't cross my mind. I wasn't a fan of this song so obviously it slip my mind. Possible there's tons of Kpop I didn't list because it's not my style or haven't listen but I think all the ranks are in order. Agree or disagree, it's just my opinion of song based on popularity and my liking, if it's soley based on popularity, Jewerly One more time and Bo Beep Bo Beep by T-ara would be included but don't feel like it.

If I'm being totally biased, most of SM song will be included..my favorite song of all time is not even in the list ahemsujumiracleahem. The song listed here are definitely songs that you would think of in the future for at least 10 years.  I wish I was part of 1st Generation fan but I'm more on the 2nd generation so yeah, it's flaw in that sense

Top 50 kpop song that you should know!

I wanted to write MY top 50 Kpop of all time but it's hard because I like to listen my song according to the mood of the moment.. Generally, my favorite kpop song are cutesy and adorable type..but I love some slick dance moves from time to time. This list does have a little bias-ness, but it's definitely about famous song you really have to know..at least!

50. Baby baby - 4men

Deciding which Kpop as no. 50 is sure harder than picking the top 10.. I'm not really sure of the popularity of this song but it sure is covered a number of times by idols. The song has a beautiful piano playing paired with great vocals. Whether you like ballads or not, this song is beautiful.

49. Tell Me Why - Untouchable feat HwaYoung

If I'm really bias...this song definitely will rank in top 10 as this is one of my all time favorite kpop. The reason it being far end is the popularity isn't high. The song pulls you right in with Hwayoung awesome vocals and paired along with the duo's amazing raps. I love Untouchable very dearly but the star of this song is definitely Hwayoung, when he hit the high notes..it's just damn good!

48. U Go Girl - Lee Hyori

I actually don't really like this song because nothing about the song is my style.. I enjoyed the dance though, it's fun and cute. Maybe if I was a guy I would like the song better.

47. Balloons - DBSK

The cutest thing ever to the point of embarrasing! I would never introduce my non kpop friends this song. I would rather they discovered this themselves. As mention, I love cutesy stuff so this is such a fun song for me. It's actually a classic children song in Korea and this is for summer album so yeah it's just a fun moment.

46. Like being hit by a bullet - Baek Ji Young

The lyrics are definitely violent, lol I really love ballads but somehow kpop ballad doesn't attract me much. This song was released in autumn, the perfect weather for ballads..it was perfect timing for me. Baek Ji Young voice has that sadness feel that suited well for the emotion of this song.

45. Eat You Up - BoA

Being the first English song released by BoA, I had to include it somehow. It's not exactly popular in US but nevertheless I applaud her effort. Her English album is nit bad.. Eat You Up while likeable, is my least favorite single of the album. The lyrics bothered me...though it's still BoA, her dance moves for this song is awesome!

44. Candy - H.O.T.

One of the classic Kpop idol songs. I think most idols would at least have practice this song at one point of their life. The classic dance moves are HeeJun's and WooHyuk's part..it's really happy song and fun. HeeJun said that it's really hard to sing the song live because of the extensive dance routine. 

43. Nothing Better - JongYup 

I had no idea it was Jong Yup's song..for the longest time. I seriously thought it was SHINee's song because my friend gave me this song along with SHINee's album. Jonghyun did a great job but as soon I listen the original..I knew I love it better. JongYup's vocal control is darn amazing. 

42. The Boys - Girls' Generation

Their first attempt to enter international music scene, the boys is rather un kpop ish since SNSD rarely ever rap, it felt awkward but I didn't care that much. I love their outfits in the MV and the girls all look great! It was produced by Teddy Riley, a famous composer.

41. Cry - MBLAQ

I'm really upset that this song did not receive much love as it should have. It was so perfectly composed and the mv is just awesome with the under water scene..dang, I can't open my eyes in water la. I thought Thunder was exceptional in this song, but then again I am bias.

40.  When I can't Sing - Se7en

I love the meaning of this song, and I feel sad that the light of a star will fade some day. I wished I didn't know JYP composed it because it really feel like he should be the one singing this song or rather Rain should have this song. Mind you Se7en did a great job, just the overall feel of this song suited better with JYP artiste.

39. Goose's Dream - Insooni

I don't why but I somehow understand the song though I never check the translation. It as if that the song speak for itself. A song that shows the power of music, this song is a classic song that tells a story about the impossible dream.  Actually I knew Insooni isn't the original but when the hoobaes covers it, it usually is Insooni's version.

38. Heartbeat - 2PM

gaahh.. 2PM, if I had to pick which group I hate the most, without a doubt it's 2PM. Back in 2009, netizen discovered that Jay Park had written "Korea is Gay" on his personal webpage way before his debut. It outrage the whole country and forces Jay Park to lay down low for a long time. During that period 2PM had a mini album titled 1:59 and this song was released. I was furious because to me it meant being disrespectful to Jay.. Why work when your teammate is having a hard time? Anyway I blog about this before but for the longest time I didn't hear the song and avoid it at all cost. It was definitely hard because the song is MEGA popular. Comedians love to parody it and variety shows always plays the song. Curiosity caught me and then I knew that 2PM will kick Jay out. I meant even with just 6 they got so much success why bother adding Jay back? This song is awesome but I hate the story behind it.

37. Good day - IU

The IT song, there is no way IU is ever going to forget this song for the rest of her life. The infamous 3 Octave part, is always parodied by everyone. I really love her cutesy concept and this song is cute, but it's an upgrade from her previous singles.

36. Before the  Dawn - Infinite

Another song that is severly underrated. Why oh why Korean don't make this song no.1? The scorpion dance was so cool. I love every part of the dance routines. the song is dark yet very captivating. 

35. Sunset Glow - Big Bang

This song is a cover of Lee Mun Se classic hit and Big Bang intrepretation received a grear review from the man himself. At first I didn't like the song but it steadily grows to my liking. When I listen to the original, I literally had my jaws dropped. I love how Big Bang kept the originality of the song yet it genuinely feels like Big Bang made it.

34. Never Ending Story - BooHwal

What a hard song to sing, thanks to Lee Seung Chul.. I don't know when is the first time listening to it but when I first listen just to a little part of it, I had to listen the full song immediately. I would love to listen to this song in concert and wave my hands side to side.. Just drown myself to the moment of the song. 

33. Tonight - DBSK

To me, DBSK is best singing ballads, I know they're amazing dancers but we definitely need a great ballad for Junsu sake, his voice is the best in KPop! All their ballads are great but I prefer this one the most, as I remembered feeling goosebumps when I first heard it. 

32. I miss you - Kim Bum Soo

There's no other OST more famous than this. I don't know if it's the composition,the lyrics or Kim Bum Soo's voice but this song is so perfect. It's just is. If you're wondering which OST, it's Stairway to Heaven staring Choi Ji Woo, Kwon Sang Woo and Kim Tae Hee. I don't really remember the drama apart from it being a sad story..but this song I will remember forever.

31. Into the new world - Girls' Generation

I'm a little bit apprehensive about adding this song in the list, but in my opinion, this is a perfect debut song. The dance choreography is eye catching..literally, who can forget the high kick move?! I love the MV, the lyrics and the song is okay..yup, it get's a little boring after a few listen..if I'm not mistaken, it doesn't have any English lyrics, so it felt like a true kpop. It's not one of the most popular Kpop, but it's a good light hearted song.

30. Fiction - Beast

If I had my way, Bad Girl would be on the list...lol but it's a little cutesy for others. I quite love all Beast songs but none felt like worth remembering forever.. Shock and Soom have similar styles, while Beautiful is popular, but it's kinda a dedication to their fans. Fiction won 2011 song of the year in KBS Song Festival, so yeah..that's my only reason this song is in the list.. I really love the first mini album.

29. Bad Girl Good Girl - miss A

Not a fan of the song but I love the dance moves. Eventually I got the song stuck in my head. The parodies are all awesome. A great song to dance to, but not really liking the song.

28. Mother - g.o.d

If you're sensitive, perhaps this song can make you cry...especially if you're Korean. The song tells about a mother's love to her son, probably some part you might not understand like what jajangmyun meant but watching the MV may clear things up.

27. Fantastic Baby - Big Bang

Get ready....! WOW, FANTASTIC BABY! I am telling you, I cannot say wow without saying Fantastic Baby! I really like Blue, so I was looking forward for something mellow from Big Bang..but this song is NOT. So for weeks, I didn't listen to it because it's not something I look forward. But Wow, fantastic baby is addictive. You just want to sing to it and move~!

26. Ring Ding Dong - SHINee

The Engrish is a lot..and till today I have no clue what the song meant. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but after this song was released, it seem Kpop is filled with ridiculous English.

25.  Fan - Epik High

Expect nothing more than perfect from Epik High. Everything is well crafted, the MV is creepy yet goes well with the music, the lyrics are haunting and Epik High skills is no joke. It's so interesting and dark, yet I love it.  The song tells about a fanatic fan..you have to watch the MB to understand further!

24. I'm your girl - S.E.S

Without S.E.S. Kpop would not be the same. Before S.E.S. kpop is mostly dominated by male, but these 3 girls are bringing fresh cutesy concept and it rocked Kpop world. This song is definitely a classic that Kpop idols should learn.

23. 10 points out of 10 - 2PM

Regardless of what, in every 2PM interview, the members are often ask about how many points out of 10.. How creative #sarcasm. It's a fun song and G.na is in the MV..plus Jay is still in the group.

22. Wedding Dress - Taeyang

Flawless. Before this song, I never thought Taeyang has good singing technique because well, it don't sound good. This song change it, I grew to like his voice better! The overall feel, the music and the lyrics, perfect 10!

21. I am the Best - 2NE1

How do I explain this song? I don't think I ever listen to this song in full. I only know this song because so many people sings it on variety shows. It's just not my kind of music but it's popular because of the lyrics.

I'm blogging via tablet I have no idea how to embed it..and don't know if the link is okay. Anyway, I watched it and yesterday and completely love it!

According to the description, BoA wrote the lyrics and composed the song..can she be any more awesome than that? I'm a sucka for piano intros and the simple, lively and catchy piano got me liking the song. This is one song, that I am pretty sure I would have instantly like without watching video or the performance. It's strong by itself.

So heck yeah, I was completely mesmerize by this video. I usually don't care for dance version MV but who am I kidding, she's BoA..the best female dancer in South Korea!! The choreography looks so slick and difficult..it's juat an art by itself. I love the mixture of dancer and the Korean guy with blond locks is former member Black Beat who's now dance director in SM.

I've seen dance version MVs that don't do justice to the dance, But this one does. I love the transtition to couple dance..that's so beautiful! I want to appalaud the director of this video.

Exo is a new group, hence my ability to differentiate their voice isn't great. Comparison isn't good thing but they're basically the same group so it is inevitable. I'm sorry if I come out the wrong way.


Aside from SuJu M, I don't really follow Mandopop.. I don't know if the Chinese audience appreciate the meaning of the song, because the song is strange.. It kind of a Kpop with Chinese lyrics. I do think it sounds great but I don't know if it's Mandopop style.


For the Korean version, it was super hard to differentiate BaekHyun's and D.O.'s voice..but Chen's voice and Luhan's voice is distinctly different. Luhan's great but Chen did amazing. He was a great choice, he sounded like Chinese..in a very good way. 


While History was just average in Kpop, I thought this song sounds a lot better in Chinese. Everyone sounds very good! Maybe it's Kris or Tao voice but it sounds really good compared to Kpop version. In the Korean version, they sort of have similar voice, but as for Exo M, they have distinct different voice.


I don't hate Angel, but it also sound average in Chinese version. I don't know why I'm not crazy over this song although it's my kind of music. I don't think this song showcase Chen's voice in the best way possible.


I don't know why but it kinda makes me laugh to listen to this song.. possibly because they sounded awkward as well. Although I have to say I like this version better. Key features too..I just don't know why?? 


Wow. Again, I prefer this version. It sounded more bearable compare to the Kpop version. If I were to sing (all alone la..not in a crowd) this song, I definitely sing this version. I don't understand this.. I love this song in Mandarin but I don't like it in Korean.


Maybe my brain is confuse.

If I didn't know Mama before listening to the album, I probably would hate it. My first impression of the song is weird. The random chanting was cool along with the video but alone, that would be strange. Having said that, I thought it was clever to list it first on the album. I'm no music prodigy but the song sound like it's really hard to compose. It has a lot of different elements that I think if you take the wrong step, it will sound totally weird. It showcase a lot of different talent at once and it enables for a great choreography. I definitely think that without the video, I wouldn't like the song as much.


Definitely my most listen to Kpop of the first half of 2012, What is Love is awesome track that is strangely addicting. When I think of addicting songs, it usually has "hooks" but this is a ballad track. I love that this song has that SM vibe, and I thought Yoo Young Jin was the one singing..D.O. sounded like him! The purpose of this song is to showcase D.O. and BaekHyun vocal capabilities and this song is perfect for that reason alone. The English in the song is oddly good..knowing SM loves Engrish..but maybe Teddy Riley had an input on that matter.


I thought History was average. It's a good track but nothing that makes me go crazy. So why does the song is selected as their prologue? It tells the story of EXO. I love love the rap part of the song. There's not much I could say, it's just a good track.


Another vocal centered track, Angel is another just okay. I'm not sure but on the radio only SuHo, D.O. and BaekHyun sings...it's not uncommon for SM to do that..Super Junior is always like that. I may not rave it a lot but I do love this song..just Baby Don't Cry is a better track..I don't know why they don't release it full.


I love SM Town collaboration, I really do but I don't understand why they had to in their first mini album.  I guess to bring SHINee fans to listen? Anyway it sounds good...but I just don't like the random noise in the background. I wish it sound a little more natural but it's not..Why Big Bang is awesome with Hip Hop because GD is directly involve in the recordings..which sound localize hip hop. 


Machine is ZZZZzzzz Okay it's not bad at all, it just not my kind of music. It probably will sound better when they perform it live. I like the chorus, it's addicting..but that's it.

MWV : Wheesung (휘성) ft. Ailee (에일리) - They Are Coming

Speechless. This is just so breathtaking awesome.

I knew that Ailee was somewhat great but I didn't really follow the hype of it because well, I normally don't follow solo. I first got to know her through Dream High 2 and unfortunately it's not a really good drama. Her single Heaven is great but not my style...Then I watched her in Immortal Song 2 and MIND BLOWN.

Her stage present is no rookie, it's like watching a seasonal veteran on stage and I don't think I'm exaggerating. Again, today I was looking for something to blog about..and this song appeared on the related video list.

Wow. As sound the music played, I was like AILEE? RAP? woah. She sound so smooth and natural. I normally hate unnecessary random sound but her "Love" was so engaging. Wheesung is awesome as usual..he was actually one of those vocalist I didn't like before because I'm not a big fan of deep voice but as I listen to his song more, I just grew to like it.

I wished I had listen to this earlier on but better later than never. The video is mehh as in the plots but watch it anyway, it looks amazing!

Kpop secrets

If you're looking for secrets...it's not here, I'm just writing about my view on it. Please read HERE for secrets.

Who doesn't like to read secrets? I stumbled on Allkpop forum on the link posted above and it got me jaw-dropped. Some quite believe able but I choose to believe maybe 50%? The trouble is I can't get the image out. LOL

I realize that Kpop idols are not exactly the person portrayed on TV. It give me the sense of reality, but still some of the secrets posted are nasty. I hope it's not really true but hey, what do I get anyway. If there's any Kpop secrets I would want to know is whether they smoke or not.

I know it's their own right whether to smoke or not but I had always dislike smokers. I am not going to be blinded and say I don't care whether they smoke or not. In the first place, I don't get why people start smoking.

And I know what i-netizen would say..but isn't caring for their health is part of a fan's job? Yes being a smoker doesn't define oneself but the fact you started smoking when you already well aware it's damaging is kind of the point of this argument.

Is there any secret I don't want to know? Yeaahh like relationship rumors. Kpop these days filled with relationship announcement..thank Ji Hyun Woo shi~. As a fan, I'm suppose to respect idols' private life but heck I don't care. I'm like Korean netizen on this issue. Like when Se7en announce his relationship, his fanclub members got out..lol Of course, if it's like 1st generation idols..I do wish them to get married. It's all about the timing.

Secrets are meant to be secrets so choose to believe less than 100%. Gossips are very popular in Korean culture. That's how Kdrama rolled. One gossip can make believe to be true.

I'm loving Ali's I tried everything

 I was searching for good Kpop..I usually just listen to my bias because there's way too many Kpop singers these days..I choose to listen to my bias only. EXO was great but I got bored..I need something new. I stumble on Ali's video on Youtube..I thought "Why not?" she's great in Immortal Song 2". BOYYY I fall in love.

The first song I listen to was "Don't Act Countrified" feat JunHyung. It was good but then I listen to this song, I just love it. The moment I heard her voice, I just got teary eye. I don't know why..is it the familiar piano or her voice, the whole intro was so sad. Her voice has a character, it's like she brings her voice to life. Her voice control? Amazing. She has both clear and husky voice. It's a voice you won't get tired of listening. 


The song is sad. The intro shows her weakness with almost whispering tone. As the song progress, she sounded like she was crying for help. I can tell she's feeling apologetic in the middle part. Gaahh..I can't say anything more, the more I listen to this song I just feel so sad.

If you're feeling happy, stay away from this song. If you're already sad, maybe this song will make you cry even harder..oh gosh..I feel so blue.

I'm loving Teen Top's To You

I only have listen once...wakaka. I just want to write a review. It sounds okay, so hence the title. Teen Top is one of 2010 debut I liked. I'm pretty impress with Andy's group, he did a good job so far. The group is getting better with each member having their lines except Ricky...maybe next single? I wonder why they don't utilize their voice well..it doesn't sound bad.

I don't know what's up with Kpop lately with all the "wooo wooo" . Personally I'm not a big fan of it, which is why I don't enjoy 4Minute Volume Up and Sistar Alone. This time Teen Top and Brave Sound team up again, it definitely sound like Brave Sound.

My favorite part is Niel's "It's like Maeil Maeil Everyday ya~!?" However I don't get the whole "To you To you now.." it sounded more like "Do You Do You"..

I'm not sure if I would listen to this song over and over but it's not a bad song. Possibly by tomorrow I would be repeating Niel's part.

KDrama pet peeves

I am not one of those Kdrama addict, but I do watch Kdrama a lot to improve my Korean. What better way to learn Korean if not through drama? This post is based on my observation.

1. Frame-only glasses

Maybe it's really just me, but I don't fancy glasses. I do need them sometimes but most of the time I live without it. I don't care if the characters are fashionable or simply bubbly characters but an older men or women wearing it? Do Korean Ajusshi wear them meh? I cannot take the characters seriously. In Miss Ajumma (as pictured above)..seriously? There's so many close up of her wearing the glasses and she clearly do not need them..after her transformation, it's not like she's wearing contact lens or get corrective surgery..

2. Pretty Hair all the time.

Is it in Korean genes that no matter what you do to your hair, it will always look good. I mean, using the picture above again..if she never had the time to visit hair saloons why is her curls so defined? And don't bluff me say it's natural..My brother has natural curls too, I know how natural curls look like. No matter how poor they are, they have the money to touch up their roots, curl or straighten or trim their hair..Maybe they did themselves but it looked perfect all the time. I haven't got any sort of treatment since last year and my hair is damn frizzy. Don't get me started on up do's.. like HOW??? Koreans, you're so talented in hair styling?

3. New cloths

I don't care for the rich..the poor characters also have new cloths all the time. At home or for work all the cloths are pretty. My at home cloths are faded and ugly. Same goes with their handphones. So rich can afford the latest model??!!

4. The infamous love triangle.

Love triangle is sooo lame, now we have Love squares, pentagon..maybe all of the polygon. If this happen in real life, wtf..this world HAS BILLIONS of people. Worst, it's actually very predictable. I can figured it out based on posters alone and sometimes by cast. No need to read synopsis, I will know which character will love who.

5. Speaking their minds out.

If I'm thinking, I never speak out loud. Why would I? If someone hears me how? And speaking of eavesdropping, their ears are DaeBak! So far can hear everything or maybe they talk too loud? There's no such thing as secret in Kdrama.

6. Everyone is connected

Kdrama makes the world so small. It's possible to fall in love with your brother's Boss's cousin and then you are related to your love interest. I don't know why Kdrama writers love complicated relationship.

Which company for Kpop Star?

In my humble opinion.

Top: Baek Ji Woong, Baek Ah Yeon, Lee Ha Yi, Lee Jung Mi, Kim Na Yoon

Bottom: Park Jae Hyung, Yoon Hyun Sang, Park Ji Min, Lee Michelle, Lee Seung Hoon

Congratulation to Kpop Star winner, Park Ji Min~! As the winner, she could pick whichever Big 3 company she wants. Currently she hasn't make the choice, so I'm on the edge of the seat. I think it's either JYP or SM. While YG is an awesome company, based on the company style..YG isn't her style. She initially auditioned for SM, but I feel that she probably works better in JYP. I love the dedication of Park Jin Young of her talent..but in the end, it obviously her pick.

The second place, but nevertheless cool Lee Ha Yi, in case you don't know..her name is pronounce "Hi" as in the greeting! Such a cool name! She audition for JYP, but I'm pretty sure YG wants her badly. I don't know if she's SM style but it'd be cool to see her in a group.

As for Baek Ah Yeon, she's very versatile..so I don't mind which company she joins. I really think the Big 3 should try to recruit her. She can do anything and it fits right. I'm not sure which company she audition..She's the biggest surprise for me as I didn't really paid attention of her in the beginning.

No doubt, Lee Seung Hoon will join YG. YG would be stupid not to recruit him. He even lives next to YG building, talking about serious dedication yo! I'd be mad if he only works in the background because I want to see him more on TV!

Despite all the hype, Lee Michelle was never one of my favorites. There's nothing about her that makes me excited over. It's not that she's not pretty or not talented, it just she's overrated. She auditioned for YG but she seems good in JYP too. I'm not sure if SM likes her..but she's definitely a soloist. Perhaps it's a high time for SM to debut a soloist?

For the other Top 10, I don't have any opinion.. they could possibly join a total different company. Park Jae Hyung might be good in FnC (FT Island and CN Blue) or Loen (IU) but maybe not YG? Anyway I hope for more quality idols in the future so that I can proudly acclaimed I'm a big fan of Kpop.

Kdrama talk

Currentky I'm watching Rooftop Prince, Fashion Prince and My Husband got a family.

The list of drama to watch is long..I don't have WiFi connection so it's not exactly ideal to watch videos. I don't have enough money for Kdramas either because I am buying Kpop CDs. Kpop can make you broke.

Mostly my drama fix are from TV. I used to watch daily evening dramas but not anymore, I'm tired of it! Usually I want it to be over by half through..so I no longer keep up with it. However I broke the record by watching Ojakgo Brothers. I watched midway but it still good, there's so many flashback in Kdrama. I anticipated the follow up, My Husband got a family. It's pretty well done drama I have to say.. Usually I spot some quirks in Kdrama, but so far it's okay. Although like all the other long episode drama, I hate the every-body-is-related. I really like Kim Nam Joo portrayal of YunHui and I love Tomboy couple.

My ultimate bias Kpop person, Micky YooChun plays the lead role in Rooftop Prince. I do like this drama but it's so embarrassingly funny. This kind of humor is not my type. I am so curious about crown princess death so that basically keeps me going. The time travel concept is fun and I am intrigued by the love lines. I am more interested in Joseon era..so I hope they could go back soon.

Fashion King..is so and so for me. I love Yoo Ah In but I don't get the plot or Choi Anna's character. I really hate unnecessary character that only prolongs the drama for no reason. Like in Please Take Care Captain, the whole adoption captain story is totally unnecessary. For once, I don't care about the love line..rather I want to know more on how the underdogs succeed. Unless the writers loves a twist, I pretty much know who ends up with who. I hope the whole plot about love lines will be scrap because I don't care. I just want Gayoung to take back her parents company. Heck, it really doesn't have to be Gayoung becomes famous worldwide or worse marriage.

 It's good to see idols acting but let's give newbie actors a chance. All of these 3 drama I'm watching has an idol. In My Husband got a family, MinHyuk of CN Blue plays Cha Se Gwang, In Rooftop Prince, it's Park Yoo Chun playing the lead as Yi Gak and Fashion King we have SNSD's Yuri as Choi Anna. Love Rain has Yoona and Man from the Equator has Siwan. Idols are a lot these days..I want them on stage more. ZE:A hasn't come up with a great single lately..

EXO Planet part 2

And so I continued.. I didn't really want to separate the post but it's too long for my liking. I've watched almost all of EXO M interviews so I know them more than EXO K. I wish to watched them speaking more Korean and perform more but I'll settle with various interviews. My favorite interviews are Youku and Yinyuetai interviews because Youku host is such a cute fangirl and in Yinyuetai interview, EXO K was mention! So let me introduce the members of EXO M!

My favorite member of all..BAOZI! Okay his real stage name is Xiumin. He is of Korean nationality but I thought he was Chinese at first! He looked Chinese, but he's Kim Min Seok. I love the fact he's still talkative despite the language barrier. He's slightly older than me but I don't call him Oppa. He's March and I'm October. :D

Pretty boy Luhan is also the same age with me, April Baby! He celebrate his birthday after debut so that's awesome! As mention before, he looks like Sehun..if you don't look properly. He is Chinese, from Beijing but he feels very Korean. I've heard him speaking Korean and I thought it's pretty good.

Opps. A gif image..nevermind la. I thought he looked kinda mixed? Kris Chinese but had studied in Canada. He auditioned in SM Global and is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean. With that he was chosen as the leader. He had trained for four years and is the rapper of the group. Oh and he is the same age with me, November baby!

No question. Lay definitely looked Chinese. He plays music instrument like Chanyeol but that's about it I know about him. He rarely talks in interviews. I wonder if he's shy or something but according to the other members he's pretty 4D. (meaning weird) Like Kris. he has trained for four years too.

I wonder for a while why was he chosen to be in EXO M..but then it makes sense since his voice suited well in Mandarin. Chen's is actually Kim Jong Dae. I think he's still awkward with Chinese so he speaks less but at least he sings well.

He is the most like me. We both have panda eyes. LOL. He introduced himself as Kungfu Panda! LOL more like Wushu Panda actually. He is trained in Wushu since young and is heavily promoted as martial arts idol. Despite his panda eyes, he is a softie. I have a soft spot for crybaby..lol

EXO Planet part 1

I think I just fall in love with this group. I never really expect to love them this much. I mean, I am SM Town fan, but to watch EXO vids all day everyday is nuts. Especially so that I don't even watch every single SuJu vids. I still love SuJu though.

When the teasers comes out.. I think I only had watch one...by accident. I make it a point to NOT watch any SM teasers because it's very deceiving. I lost count how many times I have been disappointed. When "What is Love" was released, it was an instant love.

I just love the whole vibe of the song because I can tell Yoo Young Jin produced the song. It totally is SM vibe! It was my jam for several weeks. Though it still didn't make me learn their names. I prefer Korean version because of D.O.'s voice. Perfect!

When History comes out, I thought, Meh..sounds like any other group can sing this song. I was less interested but I thought the song sounded better in Chinese. Up to this point, it's a tie!

My internet connection was limited so I only watched MAMA two weeks later and I was blown away. I love them! I watched all their showcase and interviews. I thought MAMA is perfect in both version. Although it's really a hard song to sing, it's really an interesting concept. LOL I am embarrassed on their behalf every time they have to explain their powers. Don't worry boys, it will be over soon.

Let's break it down, EXO is divided to two sub units, EXO K for Korean promotion and EXO M for Chinese promotion. Both sub units consist of 6 members.

Since I am Kpop lover, I'll introduce Exo K first. All of them are younger than me.

This is Suho, the leader of EXO K. Suho means guardian..LOL his real name is Kim Joon Myeon. My first impression is that he looked like TaecYeon or Jay of TRAX..I have a hard time recognizing him.

His name is delicious (no offence!) BaekHyun aka Bacon. He is the lead vocalist meaning he had the second most lines. His voice is somewhat similar to D.O. but it's different after 100th time listening. LOL

If I were to give him a nickname, it would be chameleon. ChanYeol always looks different! I barely recognize him in TaeTiSeo's Twinkle MV. He looked so innocent in What is Love and then looking so badass in MAMA. He's the rapper but heh, he sure is pretty sometimes.

My favorite D.O.!! I have no idea what D.O. stands for yet..his real name is Do Kyung Soo which by the way Do isn't a common family name. He is the main vocalist, which I am happy..hehe more lines for him please! I think he has the strongest visual out of all EXO..yes, not Kai..he's recognizable because he had so many teaser and wears bright colored outfits.

The face of the group..for the first time, I don't agree on this. SM face of group are usually really really handsome and pretty. I am not saying Kai isn't handsome just really weak to be the face of the group..especially so because it's SM. He looked like his best friend, Taemin and dances really well too!

The Magnae! He is the youngest of all EXO. I had a hard time recognizing him too especially so he looked like his best buddy LuHan. I think the pointer is his nose. His nose is cute! haha To be continued.

SBS Kpop Star faves

I'm on episode 5..a little behind from the Korean schedule but I can't find many blogs on it so I decided to just blog about it.

 So far my favorite is Lee Ha Yi.

 She, to me has the perfect package. I love her attitude, her voice and her look. I am silently cursing at the judges for asking her to lose weight. She don't have to, she's awesome the way she is! For me, the eyes of the performer is the part I looked forward looking at because I believe you can't fake the eye expression. Her eyes are so enchanting to look at.

 He has that summer-y feel to him. I love the raspy yet clear voice, it sounded like he was singing a lullaby..He's really attractive too, I'd say he's my favorite male contestant! Thank goodness he can speak Korean. He's Korean-American, there are a few contestant who can't speak so it's a little awkward.

 Yoon Hyun Sang
 

Perhaps the most talented one, he wrote his own song and it's really good. I can't wait to hear the full version. The song is the second one from the video. I like the way he sings. Although I am SM bias, and I love BoA comments but I think I like this hair better. He changed his hairstyle...huhuhu

 This guy is really funny. He wasn't popular on the first round, but he improved a lot on the second round. On first glance, I didn't really like him..not he isn't handsome..I though he looked like a player kind of guy. I think he has that potential to be awesome on TV.

 Park Ji Min
 

 Do you think I would have left her out? SHE MAKE ME HAVE GOOSEBUMPS!!! I am not in the same room with her but watching her sing through TV or YouTube is sending shivers on my neck, she's really good! Imagining listening to her LIVE is..wow those judges are lucky. I have been watching her videos over and over and still not get tired of her performance. I love this kid.

Of Kpop Star and Brain

Wow. I didn't realize that I have not blog since October 2011! I'm not going to give any excuse but yes, I had a busy time on the last 3 months of 2011.

I no longer watching Immortal Songs 2 which I initially plan to do recap/review on as I don't like the cast. I'd probably watched it again if Ryeowook joins because SUJU KRY babe! hehe

Yesterday, 3rd January is the premiere of KPop Stars on One HD (CH393 Astro B.yond) and I like it. I am a fan of audition shows and this is no exception. I didn't come with expectation, I was more curious on the judges as  it was FREAKING BoA, Yang Hyun Suk and Park Jin Young! The Big 3 together on one show?! That's one cool fact.

Although Lee Soo Man would have been interesting to be on the show, I'm glad it was BoA who represent SM. I think the show needs a female, still promoting singer and she's awesome. I wasn't sure of the dynamic of the trio and boy it was awkward..but I could see that they are becoming more comfortable with each other. Looking at the articles recently though, it seem JYP and YG don't see eye to eye.. but will see.

I'm surprised that I agree with their choices and I knew who would say yes or no. It's like knowing the spoiler of the story but I didn't mind. I hope that despite the star power poses by the judge, the contestant can shine as well.

Move on to Kdrama, Brain is my current addiction. Damn, Shin Ha Kyun..who by the way won 2011 DaeSang was so captivating and he made me want to watch more episode of Brain. KBS Drama Awards was on new year eve and I was so anxious of who would take the Grand Prize. Everytime Shin Ha Kyun didn't win, I silently cursed towards KBS..I want him to sweep off all the prize! So glad he was give the biggest award of the night! On the side note, did anyone notice Park Shi Hoo bites his lips when Shin Ha Kyun won? LOL!

I'm still on episode 9, the drama is scheduled to finished on 20...which is four more episode in Korea..gaaahhh. Sad. I'm going to watch his other movies and drama next to satisfy my Shin Ha Kyun syndrome. :P

Those who love medical dramas, I think you would be disappoint to watch Brain. It pains my heart to say this but if you're only interested in unusual cases, this drama is boring for you. I watched this drama mainly for the character development of Lee Kang Hoon. The character is improving yet still very consistent. Shin Ha Kyun portrayal was spot on, you wouldn't think that he is actually shy person in real life.

I wasn't going to watch Brain at first considering it's a medical drama, Kdrama is never about other topics..it's about love story or character. Especially so that there were two bomb before this drama which ironically has casting issue too. I was bitter that the production team kept on changing cast, but Shin Ha Kyun proved to be a right choice. I can't imagine anyone else portray Lee Kang Hoon.

I have a feeling I might blog about Brain again..but I will wait till I watched the last episode.

SNSD The Boys reaction

I hate looking at teaser because I always got the wrong guess, especially SM teaser but looking at the gorgeous promo pictures, I had to peek..LOVE THE FREAKING DRESSES! When the full MV was released, I watched the English version first since I kinda like BoA's Eat You Up in English.. it can't be that bad right?

Bad mistake.It was so awkward to listen it in English. That includes Jessica and Tiffany. SeoHyun lines is sooooo corny. "I know live is a mystery, I'm gonna make it history.." LOL. It rhymes but ugh. I can't grasp what they were singing but I guess it's just awkward for me. I understand Engrish, but I think I need to see the lyrics.

Teddy Riley produced it and it definitely sounds like it. I can imagine RaNia singing the song and it's a bit cruel, but RaNia can't make this No.1 like SNSD does. It's not about the fanbase, SNSD can afford to do it better. What I don't like about this song, it lacks that Kpop flavor. Maybe it's the language?

So I watched the Korean version, have to say I like it better. The girls sound noticeably comfortable and I don't find it awkward during the rap part too. The MV is the same, just different language. The sets are gorgeous too! I love the rose petals set and the sand..

Sunny looked amazing, if I ever will cut my hair, I want to look like her. I'm upset SooYoung returns to long hair but she still looked amazing. All the girls looked phenomenal. Yuri dance break was drool-worthy. The way she dance on the sand is just stunning. Glamorous should be the IT look for girl groups. I know it's hard to sing and dance it a dress but I am crossing my fingers that the girls will perform with those stunning dress. PLEASE? :P

Step by Kara

To be honest I wasn't looking forward for Kara's comeback. One, because Super Junior was scheduled for a comeback too and while I do love the girls personality, it doesn't translate the same with their music. I did have fun on their previous songs but I don't know if I can expect the same thing.

The first time listening, I stopped half way because it was too colorful and the song was similar to what they had promoted before. There is the return of the "shriek"... probably it's Kara signature but it's only fun for one time.

Just like all their previous song, this song eventually grows in me and why not? It incorporated the catchy beats and infectious hook which is the perfect formula of Kpop. Their vocals are still lacking in some areas but this isn't a ballad song and I don't care much. It's a fun song that brights up your day.

These girls had troubles in the past but it seems like their friendship is still on, I hope they don't attempt to the same anytime soon because it's not going to work. I would like to see growth from JiYoung, all the other magnaes are improving each day and it seem like Jiyoung hasn't changed much. The company should considered making a sub-unit, that would be interesting.

I'm hating Infinite Paradise

Since Infinite is getting famous each day, I think I need to put a disclaimer before proceeding. I am not anti-fan, it's just a stupid review okay? Inspirit Fighting!

With Paradise, there's 4 songs promoted by Infinite this year! Wow. Typically idols only promote two song in one year and seldom 3.. I guess probably other idols had done the same but maybe I wasn't really paying attention. 

Before the Dawn was awesome, their choreography was mind-blowing, except I was a little too late in noticing it's awesomeness. That time, I was paying more attention to Dalmatian. Nothing's Over finally got me hook to them, I knew all their names and know what roles they had.

Be mine was okay, it wasn't an instant love because I can't never get pass thinking.. "SungJong is a dude." I find it hard to convince myself that he can sing seriously and laugh at his expression. The song finally got them their first No.1 on charts. I was happy for them.

On the scale of 1-10, I would rate Paradise as 4..so there's no way I could put the title as "I'm loving" right? I thought they promoted the song too early, but I guess the company wants ride on their previous win. The song has this familiarity but I don't know where I get that from. It sounds like a cool song for mystery genre movie but that's about it.

The feel of the song is pretty confusing. I have not check the translation yet but the title is "Paradise" and the song has this dark vibe, almost haunting like and mysterious. I'm not even sure if the lyricist understand the meaning of Paradise. When I think of paradise, the image of beach comes to mind. The MV isn't helping either. I think Infinite boys are ghost following the poor girl everywhere in the house?? It's a cross of a creepy stalker or a haunted ghost. I think this fascination of this topics should stop by now.. I'm sick of it already.

What probably puts me off the most about the song is the chorus. I don't get the high-pitched voices... it's just hard to sing and not suited for the song. Is it's supposed to be haunting voice or what? However I do like SungKyu's part.. I thought it was clever to have the bits of pause in his line..I think it resembles gasping for air..WooHyun sounded really good too!

The music on this song is awesome too, the mix of orchestra and electrical guitar blends well together. I just don't think it suited well with the lyrics. Lastly, congratulation to Infinite for winning on the recent Inkigayo for this song. I think they deserved it..(although I secretly wished SuJu win.)

I Believe in GD

 2011 isn't over yet but it felt like a lot of years has gone by. There's so many jaw-dropping moments and I'm so glad I receive all the news at home because I looked stupid. :P

The latest one is about GD caught smoking marijuana. I don't know the details but I believe it's purely an accidental mistake. I am aware that GD does smoke but smoking marijuana? It's unbelievable. Looking at Crown J's case, smoking marijuana is a serious crime that can affect your career as an artiste. There's no way GD would have voluntarily smoke marijuana.

Big Bang was one of my first favorite idols back when I first started obsessing Kpop. I'm so sad that we had waited so long for their comeback, only to see two bad incident happen. DBSK is no longer 5, Super Junior isn't 13... would the same happen to Big Bang? I think it's just to sad to think about it. Big Bang was my only hope that my favorite idols CAN  be together.

I want to believe Big Bang will be forever. Please, there's too much heartbreak for me and this is the last chance. My favorite variety show had disappoint me, 2 of my favorite idols group is in rocking situation.. so please KPop, don't loose me as your fan. I'm an awesome fan.

I'm loving Beast On Rainy Days

I got my copy of Beast latest Korean album and I'm not really impress about it. I just couldn't review it. On the bright side, I do love On Rainy Days single a lot more than the title track.

The Koreans agreed as this single was in 1st place before Fiction! Yoseob tweeted "did we promote the wrong song?" LOL I couldn't agree more! There was an article about it got most download when it was raining. It was the opposite for me, I listened it during hot shiny day and it rained later.. :P

It's a little cheesy when they added in the rain and storm sound effect but it's about rain, why not? I do not, however like JunHyung's cough. Is that a cold's cough or a cigarette cough? Whether it was intentional or not, I don't like it.

The background music is lovely, the sad guitar rhythm along with other string instrument was just perfect. The boys harmonization was good and I love Yoseob taking control of the chorus, because there is this sadness feel in his voice, it's like sense of loneliness that must be sung alone.

The background vocals were done right, it sounded like wind blowing and there's this sound that sound like water droplets..the sound was probably made with synthesizer which I really like. My favorite part was the organ sound, I'm an organ player so I do love it. Despite loving the modern touch, I think the song will still be perfect when it is stripped down to acoustic version.

This is my longest review for just one song but I had to, there's so many interesting part to the song that I have to talk about. You know what? I hate rain.
