Memory

Memory is a drama about a lawyer name Park Tae Seok played by Lee Seung Min who battles Alzheimer's disease. Upon realizing his fate, he rediscover his new purpose in life by doing what he should have done in the past and trying to undo his mistake.

Alzheimer is currently uncurable disease that only get worse over the time, the relevation of the disease to his close ones and the how his support team accepted his disease was truly admirable. The balance of empathy and wanting to be strong from the support team is beautifully done. I could not rewrite the scene any better than what the writer has done. I am amazed to see how everyone is coping with the news differently but in the same time, they were very realistic.

I enjoyed how his role as a lawyer is played. He is a humane lawyer disguise as a cruel lawyer. This is a spoiler that I want to share. In the first 2 episode, he is a lawyer without mercy and uses any tactic to ensure he wins in the court. It becomes his regret to be such lawyer and he grows into a better lawyer. His tragic past was really sad but it was a part that drives him to push through his struggle.

I didn't think I would end up liking this drama so much.

Based on summary alone, I didn't think I could started watching but I knew that Lee Sung Min is a great actor and I wanted to support (heh..suddenly feel guilty, I will buy the DVD la) by watching the drama (oooh wait, I DID. by watching tvN's YT channel). I wanted to drop after the 2nd episode but I am so glad I was bored enough to just continue it.

Memory draws a comparison with another Law/Alzheimer theme drama Remember Son's War starring Yoo Seung Ho and Park Min Young. That drama is the one I didn't bother...because I got to know that Park Min Young paired up with Yoo Seung Ho and that deflated my interest on watching the show. The drama didn't do well in ratings.. I guess partly because it was a follow up drama to Signal. Which is ashamed because this drama is a masterpiece.

I think the balance between law and Alzheimer part was done well. I kinda hated the fact they emphasize on his disease being an early stage but his symptoms is very advance. Drama, you want to give me hope or lose hope ah? My favorite part is how the relevation of the disease was out but Park Tae Seok had so much dignity that it doesn't bother him one bit.

Right there, he may be just a fictional character but I just want to applaud how dignified a person he is. The drama is like the perfectly flawed world that I want to live in.

This drama is humane and may not be everyone's cup of tea but I don't regret my time on watching this drama at all. Great job overall to the director, writers, actors and everyone involved in this drama.

If you have the time to spare, watch this drama. It's a beautiful story.

Page Turner

I knew I love this drama even before I watch it.

Page Turner is a 3 episodes drama that tells a story on 3 aspiring pianist overcoming their shortcomings. It stars Kim So Hyun who played dual role in School 2015 and Sassy Go Go Baek Ho team mates, JiSoo and Shin Jae Ha.

The irony of me hating School 2015 and LOVED Sassy Go Go. haha I adored Kim So Hyun, who by the way is Park Yoo Chun reel sister (they had dramas often together) so I just naturally love her as well.

I didn't know what to expect but I was hoping that Jisoo get the girl this time but the romance part of the story is not strong. I think school love life is a bit trickier to write on?

There is a bit of a miracle part of the story but this is fiction so no need to think so much on that said miracle. I find all the characters are light hearted despite the grim situation. 3 episode may seem a little but I though it was good enough not to be draggy.

For a short drama, this is an excellent drama. I wouldn't mind watching puppy Jisoo again. Shin Jae Ha is a good actor and I want him to shine further. Kim So Hyun is on her way to be a top actress and I hope she doesn't grow up too soon.

Come Back, Mister

I skipped most of the drama parts that I might as well say I never watch the drama.

I was completely sold on the idea of the drama and I did enjoy the first few episode but I grew out on it very quickly.

I perhaps should have dropped the drama but I continued stayed on because I like Honey Lee and Oh Yeon Seo story and bashfully I'll admit these girls are such girl crush materials. Bromance? Move over, they stole my heart more than Hwang Jung Eum and Go Jun Hee in She Was Pretty.

I wish the characters were not so connected. I think I leave it and there in case you don't want spoilers. There were many aspect of the drama that did not sit well on me and the humor was not my favorite kind. Oddly enough the endearing moments is what made the show bearable. I skipped the humor parts because it made me feel like I was suffering from second hand embarrassment.

The biggest part of the drama were Rain and Lee Min Jung but their characters were my least favorite. I wished there were more parts for Honey Lee.

I wonder how it would fare without Descendant of the Sun competition... but I rather watch DOTS if I had to choose.

Descendant of the Sun review

I think from the get go that this drama was set to be a legendary drama.

The drama writer is notoriously famous for cringe-worthy lines and her past project has been a runaway hit. Add Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo to the mix, the drama is very hyped and it's certainly worth the hype.

I still don't quite get the title of the drama but it was such an awesome ride during the airing of this drama. I think nobody can disagree that this is the drama that define 2016. Okay maybe Signal can challenge that but in terms of popularity.. DOTS wins hands down.

Honestly I doubt the pairing of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo because Song Hye Kyo is such a big sunbae, and I wasn't sure how they were going to note that HyeKyo is the Noona in the relationship. I mean Song Hye Kyo is very youthful but her experience is more extensive than
Song Joong Ki. I thought the drama did a good justice on that. Fun fact, both of them hosted Music Bank before. What a coincident!

I guess I mainly stayed for Kim Jiwon who is like one of my girl crush and I did quite like Jingoo in Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek. I had no idea he is a married man with a son because his chemistry with Kim JiWon was so believable.

I know nothing about military life but medical part, I'm quite familiar because I'm a caregiver that goes to hospital a lot. I just can't stand seeing all the medical flaws in the drama but I just going to keep an eye shut because well no one is ever perfect. The ending though.. is silly.

Why play with people's heart?

One thing is for sure that I won't be waiting for a Season 2. The ending somewhat gives way for a season 2 but nope. enough for me.

130 mood : TRBL by DΞΔN 1st EP

1. 어때 (Eottae) Outro

For me, intro of the song is the one that determine whether I would like the song or not and I've never been happier to be wrong in this theory. I still don't quite having sound effect in music but as I really listen to the lyrics, it is actually very clever. Dean's intention of taking the listener to a movie experience is execute perfectly. Although Outro is the antonym for Intro, I think this song is a good introduction of what to come.

2. 풀어  (Puleo) Pour Up (feat. ZICO) (released as a single in 2015)

I know that this song is about sexy stuff but I thought 풀어  (Puleo) is the Koreanized way of saying Pour Up.. it actually means released making the song even sexier. haha I think Dean is high when he wrote the song. It has a bit of psychedelic elements to it. Maybe he was trying to convey that special moment at it's peak? MUAHAHA I have no idea what I just wrote but the song don't sound like coming from a sober person. The build up tension towards the chorus made me think of the scenario of the song.

3. Bonnie & Clyde

Another song with a sound effect in the intro but I learnt my lesson and continued listening. I actually don't know the history of Bonnie & Clyde. All I know they are icon of lovers relationship. I'm getting a bit of eerie and haunting vibe from the song. I particularly like the ending of the song/ The editing of the vocals that have a slight echo made it kind of cool. It's not my favorite song of the album but I do enjoy listening to the song.

4. What2do (feat Crush, Jeff Bernat)

I have blogged this before but I think I wrote that post only after a few listen so this is the updated review. I still find a bit of struggle to differentiate between Dean and Crush voice. Individually they do sound different but when they come together, they sound very similar.

5. D (Half Moon) (feat.개코 Gaeko) *TITLE

I had to share this video because it's so perfect and flawless to the point of me doubting this is really live. It feels like he ate the CD. I dare say this is way better than the studio version. I love the lullaby effect to this song. I'm not sleepy because the song is boring, far from it. This song has a calming effect that just takes all my stress away. If the song had a scent, it would be lavender. I did enjoy the studio version with Gaeko but this version is my favorite.

6. I Love It (feat. Dok2) (released in 2015)

This song is one of my most played song on my playlist of 2015. Dok2 part is my favorite because it add an interesting contrast. I do enjoy the playfulness of Dean in the song, the song has a lot of ad libs that I really like sing a long to and the rhythm is a good pace. It's quite easy but it's a danceable track.

7. 21 Intro

If Dean is looking for a younger lover, I'm sad. I'm older than he is so I kinda don't like the song. Overall the vibe is fun and full of tease. This song was an instant love because it's the only one of the newer track that doesn't have sound effect.

Overall Comment

Solid. Definitely would purchase the album in the future.

Twenty Again

Memory and Pied Piper were on a heavy side so I decided to start something light and watch Twenty Again.

Episode 1 was good enough for me so I continued till the end. For the first part I was excited for it..the later honestly felt draggy. I could empathize with Ha No Ra but it's a bit too frustrating as a viewer who is expecting more romance. It's more focus on slice of life which is great but I was in for the romance and they only began the romance at the final episode.

Naeun's character is clingy as heck. Hyemi and MinSoo romance did nothing for me. I mostly skipped their part. I wish Minsoo had more part with his mother. I went to same school with my brother but we don't acknowledge each other. lol Not that I was embarrassed by him but we just very different from each other. I just don't want to make him look worse. hahaha.

I was a bit sad when the way they portrayed how college life was.. I was dreaming of studying in Korea later on in life so I was afraid that it would be my future. Thankfully I read the Korean netizen response that actual college is nothing like that. They seem very positive with mature students and that made me happy.

Lee Sang Yeon was a cutie. Choi Ji Woo is a bit frustrating. I am a crybaby myself but I find it's weird that she's crying so much and for a second, I thought I was watching a melodrama.

Jay Park The truth is

The truth is.. I never noticed Jay Park in 2PM.. Back then, JunHo was my bias for stupid reason that he kinda look like Rain. hahaha.

I wished I made Jay Park as my bias then because right now I feel like kicking myself for liking anyone else but Jay Park. The way the scandal goes was bad but I'm glad that we are where we are right now because of that incident.

Now Jay Park is part of my list of "MUST LISTEN"

I couldn't embed the video directly from blogger but do watch the official video on YouTube. The video itself is already subbed via CC and so please do support it!

Don't click the video above, it's still the correct song but I would prefer you to watch it directly on YouTube because that is part of what you can do to support Jay Park.

First Impression : Pied Piper

I love Shin Ha Kyun, I really do but I cannot make myself engage to this drama. It's just doesn't make me curious at all.

For non romance genre, I find myself wanting to be at least curious about what's going to happen next, not feeling like wanting the drama to be over already when it's only the first episode.

This might sound strange but I find the amount of English used in the first episode very off putting. I know.. I'm that person who searches for Korean celeb speaking in English for fun but this drama made me do the opposite. I don't think the English is bad because I do come from a country that has English as second language, broken English doesn't feel odd. On a daily basis, you won't hear me speaking proper English but I can be fluent though.

I could actually relate to the drama a bit.. Kidnap incident do happen in my country. Which doesn't help my curiosity.

I was excited for the drama because I do like the cast, Shin Ha Kyun was amazing in Brain, I thought thriller would be up in his ally. However there are part that makes him seems less cool and it kinda tarnish the image I have of him which is the biggest factor of me dropping this drama. I finally get why netizen dislike character like Jo Yoon Hee. I like it in My Husband Got A Family, but in this drama I just cannot see someone who is supposedly top in the class but is not 100% confident. I want a girl crush.. not someone that I need to take care of.

I will keep on checking the reviews of this show until the end. I hope it does gets better but for now, I'm not going to watch it anymore.

Signal

Someone should give multiple Daesang to Kim Hye Soo.

She has won KBS Daesang before but after this drama, I can't help but to want her to received another Daesang.
Too bad that this drama is in cable, TVN.

I think my first TVN drama was Oh My Ghostess and then Reply 1988. I have tried to watch other drama but I don't feel committed to follow dramas before 2015. I don't know why that I decided to sacrifice my sleeping hours until now.. oh well. I have changed.

Signal is the drama that I always see good reviews. I do see maybe 1 bad review but it was not enough to think that this drama isn't good. I like stupid light drama so Signal as a crime thriller fantasy drama did not really intrigue me. I thought that I would only watch it after it's done and I did and it was a good decision.

No worries, no spoilers here.. I think it's best to watch without knowing spoilers. I don't if it's because I did read the reviews or Detective Conan.. I kinda predicted the outcome. haha I wish I was genuinely surprise. Nevertheless, it was still a very intense solid drama. Even if crime thriller drama is not what you tune for in a drama, I still think you should try this drama. Solid plot, solid acting and very engaging. It's not really something you can marathon.. because of the intensity but you can't help but to watch it till the end.

If you have nothing better to do, do watch this drama. 10/10 would recommend.

The Battle of Wed-Thu Dramas

For the first time ever, I'm watching all 3 drama on the same time slot.

I've started with MBC One More Happy Ending, it's finale week and ended yesterday. KBS and SBS premier on the same week, KBS with Descendant of the Sun and SBS is Come Back, Mister now at 6th Episode.

One More Happy Ending is a romantic comedy staring Jang Nara, Jung Kyung Ho and Kwon Yul. I have always been a fan of Jang Nara so it was an easy decision to watch the drama. I've never watch Jung Kyung Ho but this drama is a nice introduction for me, I'll be looking forward to his next project. I'm familiar with Kwon Yool, I have watch him in two dramas, Brain and Angel's Revenge. I totally regretted watching Angel's Revenge lol. It's a daily morning drama, my first and last. haha never again. The reason I was very into this drama because Angel, the former idol group that consist Jang Nara, Yoo Da In, Yoo In Na, Seo In Young and cameo by Dara of 2NE1. I thought the idea is very cute. They even recorded "Loving You" and filmed it's MV. I suffer 2nd hand embarrassment from it..lol

The drama started out great but there are few parts I wish never happen. I just find them quite annoying. I still like the drama for other characters, I feel like other love stories were memorable and genuine.

SBS Come Back, Mister is fantasy comedy drama staring Rain, Oh Yeon Seo, Kim In kwon and Kim Sooro. I think Rain is doing great as an actor but I find him annoying in the drama. I skipped all of his part..which end up me having very little memory of the drama. I'm waiting for his character to be better but in a mean while, I love whenever it's Honey Lee and Oh Yeon Seo on the screen. I will rewatch it couple of times because they are just so cool. ahaha. Also the fact the bodyguard is quite a looker. haha I love his character the most out of all the male cast.

The leader in ranking, Descendant of the Sun.. Song Joong Ki comeback drama from army is a must watch.. because dude, Joongki is cute. Guys, there's the beauty Song Hye Kyo too. This drama is entirely pre produced and I'm hoping that this drama will not suck like Cheese. #neverforget I'm not a fan of the writer, she is a genius on delivering cheesy lines. urgh. However I find the SongSong couple doing just fine. That's why being super attractive helps. However, my girl crush.. Kim Jiwon is my scene stealer. I love her and I'm so glad she partnered up with Jin Goo who is great too. No cheesy here!

Next week, MBC will premier Goodbye Mr. Black and I probably won't be watching. I do like Moon Chae Won and Lee Jin Wook but I'll stick with romantic comedy for now. Catching up on MBC does take a bit of an effort.

Cheese in the trap

My favorite scene of the drama. This made my heart flutter so much!

This drama is confusing in terms of my emotion. For the first half of the series, I was crazily in love with everything about it and now that it's over.. I just wish I never started this mess.

This drama is adapted from a famous webtoon of the same name. I did read the webtoon whenever it's updated on the app..but I try to watch it without comparing. I don't expect it to be totally the same.

I guess I should just write why I love and hate the drama.

I love the actors in this drama. I felt like everyone is portraying their own characters like it was second to their nature. Lee Sung Kyung portrayal of Baek In Ha was a little overboard but I skimmed through her parts so I didn't find it memorable. Everyone else was just so good. I was never a university student so I like the fact I could imagine life as a student through the drama.

What I hate about the drama is the delivery of Yoo Jung story. I think the webtoon drama is about Hong Seol's POV on Yoo Jung's real personality. I still wish to know what's going on Yoo Jung so I'm just going to patiently wait for the webtoon to get my answer. While many viewers were disappointed by Baek In Ho stealing most of the scene, I did not hate it. I just wished Yoo Jung's character had a clear explanation instead of it being an open ending.

I'm glad to get to know the actors..but this drama does leave some sour taste.

1cm Mamamoo

I have no complaint at all for this song. I just love this song a lot.

The attitude in the song is genuine. This is how Mamamoo roll. LOL

Their confidence and talent in making this song is unrivalled. I cannot imagine other girl groups to pull off this kind of concept. This is how Mamamoo plays. The lyrics are funny but it's super creative.

The composition of the song is just all the elements that works so well because it has that familiarity. For once, I like when they say their name repeatedly. It was so fun!

You are me and I am you

When I think of Block B and especially Zico, I have this image of them being tough and very crazy fun. Imagine how surprised I was that this song was nothing like what I have imagine.

I think this is my favorite Zico's work to date. The song sounds super chill and it's catchy. The title is a mouthful but it's quite fun to sing. While I don't always enjoy his music, I do love how he writes his lyrics.

"Who come up with the word "Cringe"?" and "I used to listen to Hip Hop only but now I listen to Acoustic too"

The video of the song is adorable, though as I put on my director hat.. I thought how did they prep the store. lol. Are the props real? How much did they spend on props because they don't look like knock offs. I want to shop at the store. It's not big but it seems like they have everything I like.

The styling was on point. While it was similar but the gender style was very distinct. It felt natural instead of cartoon-ish. I like all the outfits but I don't think I could ever pull it off because it's too hot in Malaysia for me to wear it. It looks too thick!

Don't Forget - Crush feat Taeyeon of SNSD

Crush is definitely on my list of singers that I must listen to every single. I have his Crush On You album and it is one of my favorite album.

I love this tender lovely side of Crush. I think he is very earnest in delivering his emotion without it feeling too over dramatic. In his V app.. If I remembered correctly and understood properly (no subs..) he mention that this song is for the fans, especially the last line of this song.

"Don't Forget of this song"

That made me fangirl. I don't care it's cheesy but when a singer said they wrote a song with fans in mind, I just feel connected to the song. The lyrics for this song is just my style. I like the simplicity but it packs with a punch. Another line that I like is

"Perhaps time was jealous of our relationship"

I think it kinda makes no sense but I can't help but to ponder why he wrote it such way. Time is an enemy? I don't know.

I think the break before Taeyeon part is odd. I don't hate it but it does give me an impression that Taeyeon recorded the song separately which is not something I like as a fangirl but I do understand that Taeyeon is very busy. I'm starting to wonder how the thought process comes into making the song. Did the song had a collaboration in mind or is it something added at the last minute?

They do sound great together at the harmonies, I just wish it was more of a duet rather than a featuring.

I can't wait for the new album. I want more!

All About Mom review

I'm back being a fan of weekend dramas. haha

Though I probably won't start watching the follow up drama. I need to like the actors first then story and there is no actor that pulls in for me..based on the teasers alone. I probably watch first 2 episode before dropping it off completely.

I think it's worth mentioning that All About Mom is being compared to What's Wrong With My Family...I could see the similarities but I do think the focus on the being sick part was different. I did not mind the main character got sick.. I think it's part of life that people do get sick. I guess I would appreciate more if other illness was used.

I think the last 6 episode was the saddest drama I have ever seen. My tears just drop so naturally. I have come to love the characters despite the flaws and all.

I don't want to spoilt it here so if you have the time to watch 54 episode.. please do. It's a great story that captures a mother's love.

What2do - Dean featuring Crush and Jeff Bernat

Thanks to JRE of JREKML on YouTube, I got to know of Dean who is like the next big thing in hip hop and RnB scene. I have listen to every thing he has released and I do love his singing a lot.

I thought that his style is quite similar to Crush so I got excited when it was revealed that the two have collaborated!

This isn't the first time they collaborated, they did it with Junggigo's 24/7 track along with Zion.T and it was a great track obviously.

What2do is Dean's track with Crush and Jeff Bernat. A bit of background on Jeff Bernat, he is quite famous for his single "Call You Mine" (a lot of singers did the cover) and he has collaborated with several Korean singers/rappers as well. He is not Korean and I believe he isn't fluent.. so I was wondering how he's going to be included in the track.

Turns out he was in the chorus, which doesn't make the song odd. If Jeff was a rapper, it'd be easy to imagine. I am happy with the placement because I can follow the chorus easily.

As mention, I think Dean and Crush do sound quite similar. I knew it was Crush who started the song but I had to pay extra attention to find Dean's voice. After several listen, I do think they do have their own style but their voice is very similar that it does sound like one singer only.

Reply 1988

This post contains SPOILER

Reply 1988 is the first Reply series that I have watched.. I read a lot of good things so I thought it would be nice to start now.

I did enjoy it's run but looking it through YouTube is quite difficult and it was a bit draggy (it is longer than typical KDrama) so I didn't completely watch it. All I did was read it on Dramabeans and watch whatever short clips posted on TVN drama YouTube channel.

How do I feel about the drama is a bit random. I think I like the secondary characters more than the main characters. I would prefer more development on Noeul and DongRyong characters. I did not have any ships for the drama.. perhaps due to watching it the same time Oh My Venus was still on.. I didn't find any relationship engaging.

Nevertheless I was curious on how would end up as the husband.. I didn't have any guesses but I was satisfied with Taek. I think he made the most sense on being the husband from episode 1 when it was finally revealed who was the husband. That being said though... I feel really bad for Jung Hwan. I felt like his character needed a closure.. that half hearted confession was like a dagger to my heart. I cannot believe I'm watching that lame confession.

It felt so random and sudden that his character was put at the back burner towards the end of the series. I felt like had the scriptwriter made him gave a proper confession and DeokSun rejected him properly...I would be satisfied. I feel so sad if a guy like Jung Hwan exist in real life. How could a guy as thoughtful and kind like him end up without no one at the end of the series??

I think he is the most realistic character and some of his trait mirrors mine. I probably wouldn't organize a wedding for my parents but I definitely would be the one to cheer up my family when they're sad. I find it so sweet that he refers himself as "second daughter" when his mother was going through menopausal. As a caregiver, I do meet other patients that wished they had a daughter that can look after them.

JungHwan is just too good to be left alone. I personally think he is better off without DeokSun. hahaha I'm bitter but I think JungHwan will get the perfect wife in my imagination.

I remember you

I have a soft spot for anything that is referred as underrated so when Dramabeans called it underrated, I was sold.

I was very impress with the acting of every actor.. I don't think there were any actor that is lacking and the characters are well made. I haven't really been a fan of detective drama because I find it weird that the scriptwriter like to inject a bit of satire humor to the serious atmosphere..however that being said, I think I Remember You humor was acceptable.

I do think that both Seo In Gook and Jang Nara are splendid actors, but the side character took centre stage. Park Bo Gum and D.O. acting was noteworthy and very memorable.

The story line was good but I won't say it was very engaging. I find myself stopping midway and just go on with life. I took my time with the drama although it was already a finish drama. I think I watch it after I was done with Master Sun.

Would I call it underrated? yes in some extend but it is not what would I call my favorite drama.

Master Sun

This is another drama that has garner a lot of rave review so naturally I'm curious if it does live it up to the expectation. I watched while waiting the next episode of Oh My Venus, I only write this post now because I thought I should at least mention in my blog that I have watched the drama.

Honestly... I didn't finish the drama.. I did however choose to finish it by reading the recaps at Dramabeans. I find it being draggy at the last 4 episode.

The individual story on ghost was fun, I like there's something to look forward in the drama. Since So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah were my favorite OTP, I wasn't really feeling the chemistry between the leads. It was good but Oh My Venus ruin my OTP standards.

I don't think it's a memorable drama for me but I enjoyed watching all the actors acting. Watching So Ji Sub was enough reason to watch the drama. I thought the ghost look awesome though. It's visually interesting but oddly I'm not scared at all. No nightmares whatsoever.

Oh My Venus Reaction

I just literally finished the drama with no subtitle a minute ago.

I don't want to give much spoilers but I thought the drama is damn lazy. There is too many flashback. It should have been a 12 episode instead by the amount of flashback the drama has. Which means all you need to watch is episode 15- 16 and then watch some random OTP moments (the very reason you should watch the drama)

I officially declare So Ji Sub and Shin Minah as my favorite couple ever. The drama is flat out boring but the couple save the drama for me. Heck, all SJS and SMA had to do is be together and I'm happy like a little kid with a huge lollipop.

BUT THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT. (NO WEDDING DRESS) Like come on... Shin Min Ah has to be in one!

I'm happy for the whole journey but I'm so sad it's over. Thank you drama for making Monday and Tuesday awesome. I'm so happy that I decided to watch this drama. I don't think there would be any drama that have such perfect OTP in the near future unless SJS and SMA decide to work together again.

Congratulation to Kang Joo Eun and Kim Young Ho for winning best couple award. Congratulations to So Ji Sub for winning Top Excellence in Acting and Shin MinAh for winning Excellence in Acting for Oh My Venus.

To Secretary Min, Sung Joon and JiWoong. You guys are such cutie.

I hope the next drama will be cute! Fantasy School..not my genre but I've been wrong in the past so why not give it a try?

KBS MANSE!!!

HallyuSurfer 2015 Top Kpop (Part 1)

Play the video for the complete playlist!

1. Jay Park feat. Gray & Loco - My Last

I didn't really have to think hard about which song that represent 2015 for me. I'm usually not a big fan of summery songs because summer to me is all year round since I am not from 4 seasons country. It reminds me of hot sweaty mess. This song however, is about the love relationship that I am after, I have fond memories of 2015 with this song.

2. Soyu X Kwon Jung Yeol - Lean on Me

This song keeps me warmth and comforts the tired soul in me. Soyu continues to do great in collaboration and I think this is one of her best collaboration. I want her to collaborate with Kwon Jung Yeol again! It's has this sad melody but it somehow makes me smile warmly.

3.  Phantom - Could You Be Mine

As a Phantomism.. I obviously cannot forget to include them on my list. It is probably too high on the charts but it's slowly one of my favorite Phantom track ever. If I have any complain.. perhaps Kiggen's line is too short.

4.  Jay Park feat. Hoody - Solo

Another Jay Park track, he is one of those musician that I always keep track on because I'm such a big fan of his musical style. I thought it's hard to beat my love for My Last, but this song hits all the right note. I love Jay and Hoody voices together. It's sounds so good! I love the rap part, where he includes his past title track on the lyrics. I love the flirty nature of the song.. Jay Park is one sexy guy.

5.  BTS - I Need U

One of my favorite discovery of the year. I said I won't learn any more new idols but Jimin's smile is enough to lure me into the fandom. I Need U is such a clever song and I think BTS has a great concept this year. I did like a couple of the past song but I feel like this is what they should stick with.

6. EXO - Call Me Baby

It would have charted high if Tao left earlier.  This is easily one of my favorite dance track by EXO. I had a lot of fun listening to this song.

7. Chancellor - Better

I have been following him through many names. Chancellor is Chance from One Way and I really love his voice tone and color. He also has skills to boot and thus makes this song high on the list. I don't know if it's because I'm currently addicted to the song but I think it's a good rank.

8. Zion T X Crush - Just

Two of my favorite vocalist come together. Enough said.

9. Song Min Ho feat. Taeyang - Fear

The winner is Song Min Ho anyway. I am happy that Basick won.. but to me, this is my favourite song from the show.

10. BTS - Converse High

I had to include this song despite it being non title song because I listen to this song and watch it's performance way too much. I love Jimin fancam of this performance on M Countdown.

8 Types of Annoying Kpop Fan in comments

I don't visit any proper kpop news site because I prefer going to sites like NetizenBuzz, KpopKfans and KkulJaem that are comments/feedback based site because I like seeing discussion and the difference between Korean and International fan.

It tends to get repetitive and unfortunately that buzzworthy news are usually negative. With that I encounter several types of annoying fans.

1. Ignorant fan

There's always a fan that can't google. It's not that hard.. something very obvious is just annoying to answer. I especially hate the ones on YouTube that ask "Where is Episode 12??" EP12 is only premiering next week... or that fan that complain about no subtitle when they just uploaded an hour ago.

2. The Wifey

I think it's cute to have a cute username like XX's wife.. but when I see they comment like "I have big news, I am XX wife"...nope just no. It's not funny.

3. The Spammer

If it's your about your bias.. no problem. Pour out to your heart content. "I'm here because it reminds me of ZZ". GET OUT.

4. Off topic

Similar to spammer, this commenter annoys me because I want to read about the actual topic but this person have to bring up a different situation. Giving absurd example is just BS.

5. War starter

Some fans don't get "agree to disagree" term or that some matter is subjective. I love a good argument but when it becomes nasty, it just seem childish.

6. Sarcasm not detected

They ruin the fun of sarcastic comment. I feel it is like a comedian that goes "geddit?". Be cool, and throw in some sarcasm too.

7. Basher bash

"I think SS is way better than plastic monster NN" "NN has no talent whatsoever" Hater detected. I wish this kind fan ignore their hate for others and just focus on their favorite things. Spend time loving because hating is a waste of time.

8. THIS

Short comments that get high upvotes. I mean.. I do write THIS too sometimes but I elaborate two more lines after than. Of course, sometime less is more but let's promote more discussion.

HallyuSurfer Drama Year End Review

again, inspired by Dramabeans, specifically Javabean. I love her writing style!

I'm loving the format.. I am number obsess..well, er maybe not too obsess but reviewing 5 dramas seem doable for non consistent blogger that I am.

SPOILER ALERT

Thumbs up goes to Unkind Women

It's kind of underrated in my opinion. I felt so much warmth from this drama. I love every single cast in this drama. There are some parts I wished never happen like half siblings love rivalry. It's just complicated and unnecessary. My favorite couple is Kim Hyun Sook and Jung Goo Min. I love their relationship storyline. I find it's refreshing that the older couples in the show are more fun that the young ones. I adore Jang Moran character, she has so much elegance to her but she is so adorable! Her love-hate friendship with Kang Soon Ok is what made me stayed for more.

Pointing Finger, reciting Kim Yeol's 1,2,3 belongs to Sassy Go Go

As a opposed to Javabean's "no, no".. I changed it to counting Kim Yeol's 1,2,3 because it reminds me of it. Sassy Go Go revives a side of me that I never knew I had it in me. I love Kdrama a lot more than I think I would. It changed my life for the worst. Sleep deprived and constantly chasing for the next episode are the typical symptoms that are now affecting me. I feel in love with the drama because 1, it's a cute school drama life I wished I had experience. 2, It has great lessons 3. Lee Won Geun's smile.

Flipping my Middle Finger to School 2015 Who Are You

Started of great and promising but it went downhill when it was discovered that her twin sister is alive made it worst. I don't even know why I bother finishing this drama. I love school dramas, I am fascinated by twins..it has all the elements I love but the executions were bad. I'm just glad it didn't made me hate the actors. The love line made no sense to me. The only thing that gets me going is Joo Soo Hyang. Her acting is great.. I'm hoping KBS would give her award!

Sweet Finger (Jari Manis in Malay) goes to sweet She was Pretty

It may not seem perfect to other viewers but it is for me. I can't stop gushing for Hye Jin and Hari lovely friendship. I love the chemistry between the main couple so much, I don't feel sorry for Shin Hyuk. He's an oddball but I do love him. I don't have any complains for the show and thoroughly enjoyed every second of the drama.

Pinky promise was broken when I started watching Oh My Venus

I'm a bitter weird person. No matter how much it looks interesting.. I avoided OMV because I was loyal to SGG. I kinda hope OMV would have been postponed so I would get more episode to see Lee Won Geun's smile. I caved in because I got addicted to Kdrama. I thought how bad it could be (I read that the plots are boring). It was as boring as I thought it would be but I can't help myself but to continue watching the drama. I never looked back! So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah chemistry is so good.. I literally don't care for the plot. Even if it's just an hour of So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah lovingly teasing and flirting plus a dash of Jiu Jitsu scenes.. I'd pay to watch that any day. I'm not jealous of anyone.. I have a crush on both of them. Give me more cute scene!

All About Mom

This blog starting to look more like a Kdrama blog than a Kpop blog right? I feel disconnected to my music roots lately and more like an ajumma who just want to talk trash on Kdrama gossip.

Lately this drama is not working for me.. I used to be obsess with this drama. I just feel it becoming very draggy and so many things just make me want to smash things because it's ridiculous. I should have known that weekend dramas can do this to me. It's 50 episode or more  so I'm guessing Korean scriptwriters are not really capable of writing long dramas. Daily dramas are the worst and I never want to start it after gone through several.

I can't even follow any couple right now.. I think I'm staying for the parents. Although Mom is a little shy with her affection with Dad, I still find their relationship very cute.

The main couple is Kang Hoon Jae and Lee Jin Ae. Kang Hoon Jae has to be the worst kind of Momma's boy. I can't believe such son exist. Actually I find his relationship with his mother a little creepy. It's sweet but it's like they never fight at all. No such thing. I'm a Daddy's girl but I sure do quarrel with my dad often like normal father daughter relationship.

I really admire Lee JinAe character at first, now I'm just confuse. Where is the old Jin Ae? I can't decide any more if I like her character. It seem like a totally different person. Heck, I think everybody has changed.. Maybe scriptwriter change? I honestly don't know how I come to hate the person I used to like and love the person I used to hate..

Now it's like the main focus is Lee Hyeong Soon and Jang Chae Ri couple. Very cliche but not enough to skip..Okay, I probably would skipped it if I wasn't in love with Chaeri's hair! Her hair always look good. I hate this kind of coupling... it's immature and no place in my heart.

Lee HyeongKyu... I used to hate him so much! Now, not so much. I find his character cute..like Lee Seung Gi's character, HeoDang in 1n2d! HyeonJoo is such an adorable character as well. I wondered how the scriptwriter would make them together and it worked for me. I love this couple..but of course there's that usual typical obstacle.

Actually this drama is nothing new, I think I have watch all couple's drama individually in other dramas.. predictable at it's best.

Cool Mom is now Cold mom. I never like her character. She's too hypocrite but the worst character in this drama is HoonJae's Aunt. Gosh.. she is so nosy! I thought she is just this cute character because the way she talks is cute! I never thought I could hate a cute character. I would love the scriptwriter to kill off the character. I just don't think she's a good character at all. It's like scriptwriter is being lazy on how to reveal the secrets...

I will finish the drama so I hope it will get better somehow. For now I just watch for the sake of finishing it.

Oh My Ghost

I typically avoid anything related to ghost..I don't believe in fictional ghost and I just don't want to mess my head with it.

After She Was Pretty, I felt empty and wanted to fill in the void so I went on Dramabeans rating page to know what's good. Angry Mom and Oh My Ghost scored high..and thus made me curious of the hype. I started with Angry Mom because got Jisoo in it and was disappointed. It's not my kind of drama. I don't think Kim Hee Sun is badass. She's just someone who fights well.

Oh My Ghost turn out good.. I wished I started with it instead. I think Park Bo Young played both characters great and it was not awkward at all. I didn't read the synopsis.. but I knew the twist. So typical, at least for me. Like do you really think Im Joo Hwan character is just plain?

Park Bo Young is so adorable.. I can't believe she's around my age! She looks waay younger. Jo Jung Seok.. I still don't get the hype. He is good looking but his acting? It's like I'm watching Jo Jung Seok.. not the Chef. It's quite similar to his character in You are the Best and the progression of character is like copy and paste.

Kim Seul Gi is a scene stealer. I always want to see her on screen because she feel so natural. I hope to watch other works by her!

PHANTOM IS BACK!

Phantom has been busy individually this year. Sanchez is part of Sanchez X Verbal Jint stint while Hanhae and Kiggen released solo works and of course who could forget that SMTM4  scandal. I'm biased and would say that I do prefer Hanhae over Black Nut. *close ears singing lalalala

I didn't quite enjoy their solo project.. feels like it lacks something. I guess I was too eager for their comeback because when I saw their teaser released I was so excited.. and then when the MV was released I literally couldn't stop smiling.

Phantom asked, Could You Be Mine?

Oh, do you have to asked? The answer is always yes!

The song starts off with Sanchez, and I was sold. Any Phantomism can certainly tell you that the main vocalist can rap as good as his high notes. While Sanchez is my bias, I have to say that I think his part in the song is a little too much.. I wanted more Kiggen..felt his part too short for my liking.

The rhythm is kinda reminiscence of Kiggen's project Hybrefine vibe. It has a club feel but it's chill. It makes you move but in a classy manner.  The rhythm is repetitive it didn't feel boring because the way Phantom sing and raps has a lot of character. I love to see the fun side of Phantom, I look forward to watch them perform and hear the fanchants. I love their adlibs a lot!

I have look up on the translation and it as sweet as I would thought it would be. Basically it's a guy wanting to get out from Some relationship. Some is kinda like Korean version of friend zone. It is that fine line between friends and lovers.

Do me a favor, Could You Be Mine
This ain't no question, there only one answer
Hey pretty young thing,  you're mine
Let's get it going, I want eternity with you

(word in bold is in Korean)

It is a simple yet lovely confession. I love the chill feel in the song so it kinda feel like no pressure because all I need is one answer.

Again, My answer is YES.

FINALLY

I can't believe it took me this long to write this!

FINALLY after like 10 years of obsessing over Korea, I went to Seoul in February!

for really short 3 days!

I don't want to dwell on why I decided such a short trip because the main point is that I went! I am just happy for the fact I was there.

Obviously, I didn't get to do all the things I wanted but it felt cool to see familiar stuff on screen laid out in real life. I really do a lot of research on Korea.

Before the trip.. I was a bit wary.. Would it make me hate Korea? I scared because I know my expectations are high. Paris Syndrome (#prayforparis) coined by the Japanese, It's like cultural shock where you have all these image of a place but when you go to the place, the expectation is not fulfilled.

Turns out... I feel at home. I find myself wanting to move there. I love Malaysia but I do want to move to Seoul...some day.

I'm not going to talk about the trip..I'm not a good traveller. I basically go with the flow because my real life is very mundane. I thought being unprepared would make it more fun. Turns out I'm quite good at it. We only got lost finding the hotel! HAHA.

When will I go there again? I have no idea. I'm heading to Taipei next. Hopefully it will be good.

She was pretty

Starring : Hwang Jung Eum, Park Seo Jun, Go Jun Hee and Choi Si Won

It started out with me saying.."Let's check out one episode"

and then it was 2.30AM. BAMM! Did I mention I had to get up at 5AM?

Lesson learned, Don't start a complete drama. The risk of marathon is high!

While I love everything Korean, I don't really keep up with dramas because it takes a lot of my time. I'm already busy with Kpop and variety shows are easy to not finish watching. Dramas are like books to me, if I really like it... it's hard for me to move on!

I decided to watch it because I stumbled on random clips and it look quite interesting.

I have no idea what to expect, but I kinda think that I don't really have to watch this because I already know Hwang Jung Eum's pretty face. Normally transformation are exciting because I don't already know their pretty face but I watched HJE's dramas before so I'm used to her pretty face.

I'm glad this drama isn't about that. It's focuses more on first love or childhood love story which is another fave plot of mine.

Being overweight, I can relate Kim Hye Jin's character.. She keeps on selling herself short and when people tell her that she's pretty, she would denied it. I'm like "girl.. you are pretty!" and then realize I'm just like her. I like how she is still confident and doesn't seem like she is very conscious of her look. I've seen "ugly" characters on other dramas and I hated that they are so critical and have low self esteem. Kim Hye Jin acknowledge that she's not pretty but it doesn't dampen her spirit too much.

The drama is like a dream of mine. I'm very introvert but I wish I had someone like HaRi. Their friendship is so beautiful, I'm sad it's only fiction. I actually have similar friendship. I was on the lower end of the rank...but my friend was one of the top 3 in class. It was a weird combo that work.

Just like how Kim Hye Jin saying no to writing a 2 page article when offered by Reporter Cha, I'm reminded the days when I was placed in the top class. I keep on thinking that I didn't deserved to be in the class..to the point I ranked last. It's not that I'm not smart, I believe that I wasn't smart.

Guys like Seong Jun and Shin Hyeok are very fictional. I don't think they exist. Life would be so much fun with Shin Hyeok. I think the Shin Hyeok is a better match than Seong Jun. Their storyline is more realistic than Seong Jun. I really do root for this kind of relationship but I find it odd that their memories are sooo good. I don't even remember my primary school days and I'm in my 20's! I think their character is suppose to be in their 30's? And the fact they still retained the old habits is kinda weird. Surely something has changed beside just looks.....

Only in Kdrama land.

and I totally knew Kim Poong Ho was the nephew! HAH! I guess it because he doesn't look like he belong in fashion and out of place. Kim Shin Hyeok is too easy.. and definitely not JoonWoo.

발긱하게고고 (Sassy Go Go) Cheer Up

Starring A Pink Jung Eun Ji, VIXX N, Lee Won Geun, Chae Soo Bin and Jisoo

I can safely say that this has got to be my favorite drama of the year!

It has all the elements of Kdrama that I love, school theme, cheesy puppy love, cute friendship and light hearted. Heavy drama is usually a miss for me, I don't want to stress myself out from watching a drama, I want something that literally cheer me up like Cheer Up!

The drama is only at 12 episode which is quite unusual but I do like short drama, less commitments haha. However it does leave me wanting for more! I prayed that it would get high ratings for an extension but unfortunately it suffers very low ratings.

I love every single actors. Even N! He did received a bit of criticism here and there but I kinda get his character. Perhaps a more season actor would pull off the character better but I think it's better that way because the focus is not on N's character. I kinda have his fear, hahaha I hate skinships too.

The main reason why I love this drama is because of Lee Won Geun's smile. Damn that kid is precious. Every time he smile, grin or smirk.. my heart wants to skip a beat. He is very close to my ideal type but he is waaay too perfect. What is his flaws? Maybe I'm blind when it comes to that department. Tall and handsome, genius and loveable? Geez.

Another thing worth mentioning is the teachers. I love the dynamic between the adult character. It has presence yet it doesn't take the center stage. Teacher Yang is everybody's favorite teacher, I wish I had him in my school years. Coach Nam is gorgeous, for the life of me.. I don't get why the drama doesn't think she's pretty. Damn drama. I love her spunky character and she is the most sassy of them all. As a villain, Principal is doing a great job. I find the character very well balanced of seriousness and comedy. I hate her to bits but I do think her character is very necessary. Teacher Im is awesome too. I want to hate him but I do know where is he coming from. Despite having a full time contract he still have to brown nose his way to maintain his job. I'm quite a goody two shoes so I can relate to his character.

I would definitely recommend this drama to any School drama fans. It's very cute drama. I am going to post another post when I finish marathoning to complied my top favorite scenes!

I'm fine, Thank You

I'm going to be honest and say that I am not too familiar with Ladies Code but it doesn't change the fact I am as heartbroken like any Ladies Code fan.

I always thought Ladies Code had potential ever since I saw SoJung on Immortal Song 2. I know with the right song, they definitely capable of getting no.1 spot.

Car accident happen all too often on our idols and this is 1st time it causes 2 lives. I was truly devastated the morning Eunbi pass away and knowing the passing of Rise on Sunday hit me hard. It just so unreal. They were currently promoting and it felt like I could still see them perform..looking reruns made it worse for me.. they looked so bright and happy.

RiSe, EunBi... we all have love you. We will continue our thoughts and prayers. For Ashley, Zuny and SoJung.. we are with you all and hope you will get back on your feets for RiSe and EunBi. Let Ladies Code name shine.

Song IL Kook and his triplets

I always fantasize about having triplets because i love number 3 so much. I always thought it would be cool to have another family to share that special bond. However watching the new family on Superman Return made me think otherwise.

Daehan, Minguk and Manse are the adorable triplets of Song IL Kook. Thankfully they are fraternal because identical is difficult to differentiate on screen. I still can't differentiate Shoo's twin. A little trivia on the triplets' name, it means Long Live Korea in Korean. So it's easy to know which is the eldest to youngest.

I remembered reading the news of Song IL Kook having triplets and I also remembered him on Qualification of Men trialthon special but I never thought he would do this show because I thought he is a private person. Knowing his wife is a judge surprised me more. Nevertheless I am glad he did this show. Have yet to see the wife on screen but I don't mind if she doesn't because more screen time for the triplets!

Looking after three kids is no easy fit and I really want to give IL Kook a hug after the show. Lol. He discipline his kids well and overall the kids are well mannered. He gives the best reactions all the time.

UPDATE : I noticed that this post still get views after a year I posted and I thought I should update by saying that the triplets are leaving the show. They have their last recording last week and that probably means there won't be any new episode next year. It's been a good ride, I'll miss the kids but it is time for them to be normal yet again. I hope Song Il Kook will continue acting and let's pray the triplets will grow up to be kind and healthy adults.

I'm hating Sistar Touch My Body

I have no idea how is this song NOT being banned. It is clearly said "Touch my body" and that is all good clean fun? Um nope, I won't let anyone who isn't my husband to feel free to touch my body.

I think what annoys me about the song is the annoying trumpet sound and it repeats over and over. Perhaps if the song had less of that, I would probably enjoyed the song better. I think it's a shame that they don't utilize SoYou and HyoLyn voices. Arghh.

Bora, as much as I love her personality.. Loved her in Invisible Youth.. She cannot sing or rap just yet. There's some hope and I really wish her to practice more. Dasom voice color has been pretty bland.. I don't know if she is overshadowed but I think like Bora, she needs more practice and find her own voice.

Sistar is all about summer song and that's good but sometimes these fast paced song does nothing good for their talent.

I'm loving JYJ Back Seat

This song made me feel older,,,I still remember the Balloon days where they would be wearing those fluffy animal costumes. What a 180 degree difference to this downright sexy concept.

Yoochun, as you might know is my ultimate bias and yes, I am shamelessly loving his narration! It's just perfectly cheesy. Haha i don't really know his current state of English but his pronounciation seems good. The song matched JaeJoong so much, he looks amazing in the MV and his voice is just as good as I remembered. As for Junsu, there is no argument about his vocal being the best..thought it is a bit awkward for me to see him sexy. He is hot but his aegyo (cute) image is still strong in my mind.. That this song feels wrong. Lol

This song was banned by KBS, and I thought it's fitting because when it comes to a song titled Back Seat with a sexy rhythm,.you know where is this going right? That's right, back seat. LOL. However I am just as sad that we may never see this on public broadcast...oh it's been too long! Let them perform and show them rookies how it is done!

More over it is DBSK 10 years anniversary. Let's forget the drama, and I would so be happy to see 5 of them on 1 stage.

Rated 19 i'm loving San.E Body Language featuring Bumkey

Is it getting hotter here or what? Nevermind if you're not living in a 4 seasons country because the songs in KPop will remind you what the weather is like in Korea. With summer in place it seems like the song getting hotter and I'm actually liking Body Language more than I should.

It's a fun song to listen to, San.E is a great rapper and Bumkey's vocal is self explanatory awesome. Make no mistake that this song is about making love and it is straight forward like that.

While i love the song, this isn't a song I would listen publicly. Haha. I do think the lyrics and rhythm serves its purpose but it does make me blush. Lol Despite the theme of the song, it is a good track that can make you sing or dance along to.

I'm hating Red Velvet Happiness

Oh my goodness. It always have been difficult for me to write "I'm hating" post because here in my blog I would like to be all about LOVE but this post has to be written.

I have been a fan of SM Town since the beginning of my Kpop fandom in 2006. I loved so many debuts from SM and I learn names so fast. SM always have that power on me. I always seem to memorize members name faster compare to other group of other company.

If I could.. I just want to forget about Red Velvet. Like first of all.. Food names should be reserved to pets. No groups should have food as their names. (Yes, I am looking at ya H.A.M. and B.A.P.)

I don't even know what is the concept for Red Velvet.. Cheerleader or just plain bizarre mess. Whatever it is, it's not working for me. The song is messy and not one bit I can love about it.

This doesn't feel like SM produced. In fact I refuse to acknowledge them. For a small group, it has to have quality. While SM is known to focus more on face/image.. as a fan, I know better than SM has more talents than other company. Red Velvet has neither face or talent in Happiness.

The hair is blaah. What happen to them? I always thought SM artiste has the best hair. The song does nothing for their talents. This song is like created to cover your vocal flaws..in the most terrible way. Choreography easily forgetable, which makes me even madder.

Scratch this whole thing and start rethink about how to market them. I beg you dear SM producers. This is not how we do idols. I'm so sad and mad.. I don't even feel bad for hating this whole Red Velvet.

I'm loving Nu'est Goodbye Bye

NU'EST is one group I want to achieve success because they do have good chemistry with each other and given good songs, they should already achieve No.1.

Goodbye bye ( Honestly, the title should be Goodbye Baby..) is a good kpop track so I'm puzzled why the lack of attention. Perhaps Summer season, this song is better suited for Autumn/winter.

In midst of lot's of generic kpop songs, this song sounds different with a slight ballad feel to it. I really the chorus, it keeps on repeating in my head. I didn't mind the heavy synth sound either. It sound strangely good..coming from someone who hates it.

I think Nu'est should sing more mellow songs because their vocals shine best in sad songs.

G.O.D. is back!

The return of g.o.d. is highly anticipate as they are one of the 1st generation idols that made kpop what it is today. You can't have Kpop without idols.

I'm so happy to see Son Ho Young got back on his feet after his tragedy. Smiling Angel voice is my favorite and he sound great as usual. He looks better than ever.

While I have watched old videos, seeing Joon and Yoon Kye Sang was a lil weird. The other 3 members are active in music and varieties so I do see them often. I haven't seen much of Joon and Yoon Kye Sang works.

I wasn't part of 1st generation craze but I can relate to Sky Blue Promise, as I wish to see SuJu like that in the future. The song got me all that feels. I think any Kpop fan can relate to the song. It's funny but touching nevertheless.

Saturday Night was super fun and reminded me of Psy. If you can make fun of yourself, you are cool in my eyes. I love how the go all out and not be ashamed of their hilarious past fashion. I would like them to stick with their day jobs, singer or actors. Lol

In a more serious note, The Story of Our Lives shows that g.o.d. still cares for music with message. One of my favorite track of the album and Megan Lee's part was a nice addition. Now go hug your family after the song. As cheesy as this sound, family do comes first.

As a kpop fan, our goal is have our favorite idols to stay connected. This gives me hope for my current bias.

I'm loving Block B H.E.R.

I'm a fan of Korean Hip Hop but not so much in idol world. It's just feel a lot more different.

Despite Zico being named as one of the top rappers in Korea, I haven't been really loving his songs. I have liked some of it but none stuck in my head. As for H.E.R. I enjoyed this single a lot more. The addicting electric guitar riff and the fast past chorus just stuck like a glue.

I didn't appreciate the "Jesus" in the lyrics as I'm religious. Using God's name in vain is a big NO for me but as I got past it, the song is fun like the members of Block B. With Block B unique voices, it adds more in the fun factor.

The song does fit Block B fun personality however I would like to see a sensitive side of Block B for the next single. I think it would be a dream to have B.A.P. and Block B to interchange music. Bang Yong Guk has that anger sadness in his music and Zico is all crazy fun. I think it would be cool to see Block B showing their soft emotions and for B.A.P. to go all out crazy.

I hope to see Block B grow more popularity after their scandals. It would be ashamed to not have them doing what they do best.

Album Review : Mamamoo Hello

1. Hello

In just 43 seconds, 7 lines, this intro is good enough to capture attention of it's listeners. I particularly don't enjoy the rhythm but it's good introduction to the group styles.

2. Mr. 애매모호 (Mr. Ambiguos)

Their title track, retro seems to be their concept but I don't get Wonder Girls vibe whom are synonymous to retro concept. I start to see the color of Mamamoo voice, it has a lot of characters in it and I thought it reminded me of musical without the over the top flare. The rap part was good but I can't help to laugh because it feels like it was so random. Mamamoo does a lot of harmonization, I think it would be interesting to hear them doing acapella.

3. 히히하해호 with Geeks ( Hihihahaeho)

The intro was so catchy. I know this will be another favorite. Like the playfulness of the title, it makes me feel happy. Geeks part is long.. I guess that's why it's title as "with" not "featuring". My favorite part is the whisper part. I don't understand much of the lyrics but I never really bothered about lyrics.. I mean, I listen to Korean pop without being fluent you think lyrics are a big deal for me? Anyway, I hope it has a clever meaning, though if it's all fluff, it's fine.

4. Baton Touch

Maybe it's in the title but this song felt like a cheerleading song. The rhythm is fast and cheerful and it does make people move along to beat. Mamamoo lyricist seems to like to add their name in songs. I'll forgive because this is their first mini album as I think the intention is to get people to remember the group name. When the song slowed down, I wasn't liking the song anymore.. I think it's best to keep the upbeat because it made song seem lazy, it's like make one paragraph and then the rest is just filler for ending. The aong is under 3minute but it felt longer.

5. 내맘이야 [HwaSa solo] (my heart)

I have yet to familiarize with the members voices so I do enjoy solo singles to give attention to members. The song has a different vibe than the other songs in the song. It's a hiphop track through and through.  It does feel like this song is odd to be in the album but I think we can expect something diverse from them in the future.

6. 행복하지마 with Bumkey (Don't be Happy)

This is my favorite song of the album, and the reason is pretty obvious. I am in love with Bumkey's voice. The video only contain a snippet of this song so this full version is very welcoming to me. Bumkey started of well but I thought the transtition to Mamamoo's part seems odd. It made sense in the video but in the song it just end and started like two songs. I feel that there should be two version.

God Gift 14 days

I think my brother enjoyed this drama more than I did.

First 7 episode was okay. It had all the suspense, I literally had a pillow over my face because it was intense. I thought after that it was just dragging.

I love all the main characters except Saetbyul. Gosh, I don't blame Lee Bo Young wanting to punish the child for running away. That girl is a nightmare.

Ki Dong Chan stole my heart. He is all scruffy and rugged but I could see how beautiful heart he had. Daesang winner, Lee Boyoung was exceptional again in this drama. Another Daesang worthy performance indeed.

I don't mind the lack of romance, The duo had great chemistry anyway. I wish we had a better ending.

Birth Secret

Between being sick and busy.. I really wanted to write more but physically I'm in bad shape. I'm feeling better..and while I am better I'm going to write a lot!

So this is a drama I have finish long time ago. I wasn't expecting much from this drama and probably that help me enjoy the drama better.

I decided to watch it because I am interested with genius photographic memory characters. I thought Gal So Won is such a sweetheart to I continued watching.

Of course, all drama has their loopholes. I don't enjoy the fact the scriptwriter made chaebols as lunatic. It has a good message but I thought that they push it too much.

For a drama with a title "Birth Secret'' I was expecting more realistic twist. I have to put my logic aside and accept the scriptwriter logic.

Yoon Jun Sang had a loveable character but the chemistry with Sung Yuri was not working for me. Spoiler Alert : what are the odds of two suicidal people meet each other before dead?

Depression does mess with your head but it's just feel weird. Kdrama should banned amnesia or any mental disability ... it feels like they don't represent the actual thing.

I enjoy watching the drama but I won't watch it again.

Koreamie~!

Hello! It's end of May and this my first post of the year. *nervous laugh It's okay..because nobody read this blog right? haha. ...
