Random Talk : Ugly side of kpop

Yeah, My favorite post is back! It's actually really hard to do this post because I'm running out of ideas to randomly talk about.

This time I'll be talking about the ugly side of Kpop. What could that be for someone who loves Kpop too much?

THE FANS

I could have pick Plastic surgery, younger Kpop idols or their too much information on TV..but I pick the fans...am I referring to myself? Maybe.

I'm going to generalize as fans referring to the bad fans as I know not all fans are like this. So bear in mind I am not talking about any specific groups or person.

I think Kpop fans are beyond amazing, I'm often speechless whenever I read an article that is related to fans observation. Spotting possible plastic surgery is normal because even I can! Getting old picture is lame, because it's easily obtain..but have you heard that a fan has pictures of the idol underage drinking? I'm not saying they got it from press, they are the ones who release it themselves when 2PM issue broke out and the fans used it as a threat to the company.

You really don't want to mess with the fans, they are capable of doing anything! SuJu's fan bought shares of their company to protest additional member into the group. Some weird fans write letters with blood to show their love. Eww.

When I first got into loving Kpop fandom, I was shocked to read fans giving death threats and how scary their "present" are. Choi Jin Sil was unfortunate because fans blame her for Ahn Jae Hwan suicide and she end up killing herself. Words killed her, RIP Choi Jin Sil. YunHo also received a poison drink from a crazy fan few years back and thankfully he recovered..This is how crazy fans can be.

I'm anti 2PM..sorry if my readers are Hottest but I just can't returned to like them. I'm just avoiding listening and looking at them but there are worse fans. When the news broke out that JaeBeom is officially won't be returning to 2PM, the fans rip their 1.59PM album into pieces and some return their albums to JYP building.

What I dislike the most about fans is fan war. I first know it through Dream Concert 2008, where fans are fighting against each other. I don't get it why the fans had to do it, I don't participate in it because I like both groups. Some fans had to say their idols are better than other idols. Can we all just get along?

Dream Concert 2008 is brutal..search it up if you're interested..

Although without the fans, there won't be idols up on the stage..I just hope they were less crazy.

I don't know if ShinDong is an idol or not because usually idol fans would like to murder the girlfriend. :P I hope he's happy or I'll chase that girl for breaking his heart. ShinDong make sure you're the heartbreaker!

btw, I manage to watch SuJu LIVE! Today is an AWESOME DAY! I thought I would never make it to watch it on time but since I rushed home..I manage to catch it! I'll post the MPV review later..I still have 2 more battles to go on 20th May..Entrepreneurship Studies and 3D Animation.

I will be writing the MPV later, I just have to write this because it's SuJu! The reason that I love Kpop very much!

It's finally out and I can't describe how happy am I to watch this MV! I was super excited today as I don't have to watch in college. Internet running smooth and Boom! SuJu MV right infront of me! I literally jump up and down the whole time watching the MV.

*sigh The stage seem empty. Who am I kidding? 10 is still a lot but somehow being a fan of SuJu all this years make me know who's missing without counting them.

Will I ever see an all 13 stage someday? I don't know. Sorry Sorry is a catchy song from the start but how Bonamana fare? I'm a SuJu fan..I force myself to like it from the first listen. LOL but I do like it.

What a wonderful world~~ LOL InJoon of D-NA looks like YooChun a little from the sides while JunYoung always keep me calling him YooChun! What's more JunYoung has been in a variety show for being YooChun look-a-like!

InJoon is my favorite member of D-NA while JunYoung could possibly be one..will see! I'm searching ZE:A video this week..wait, I should be doing my assignment! Why am I here??

MPV Review : Chung Lim Face

Wow. Four MPV post in a row.. I have yet to do Secret's Magic, Rain's Love Song and lots more..seriously way behind! I actually like more of Chung Lim face than his music..but he's back and I got see what he's bringing.

He's an amazing dancer but he's just average in terms of vocals. His previous single "Step" didn't get stuck in my head but he's got dance skill that keeps me looking forward to his performance. I like this song better than Step so there's an improvement!

MPV Review : After School BANG!

I really love "Because of you" but this is..well, just read more. After School is back again with a new member and her name is Lizzy. I think she's pretty but I don't understand her addition into the group.

Music



I was expecting more from the group that brought me "Because of You" instead they're following SNSD footstep by releasing a song I can't stand. The song is rather messy because I love the part where Kahi and Raina sings. Chants, to me are not music..not a big fan of that kind of rhythm.

Performance



They cleverly place Uee behind this time! It's good since I don't have to see her a lot and I know she's busy with acting schedules. After School is famous for great dancers and I am amaze with their routines..I love the performance minus the song..ahaha! but it goes well together.

The video is Runway/cheerleader concept..I find it creepy that the young girls were there wearing belly showing get up..I only like the part where they were wearing white tee..the rest is a sore for the eyes.

MPV Review : Soya N Sun Good Smile

Usually I post mainstream popular hit songs but I like this song by the first listen when I first saw it on Music Bank so I thought I should blog about this.

Music



Unlike his uncle, Kim Jong Gook..SoYa sounds better in my opinion. I just don't like KJG voice. I didn't even know it was her until I looked carefully at her name.. Sun sounded well with SoYa. I like this kind of song!

Level of Likeness: 8/10

Performance



I would forgive them if they didn't dance..I don't think it's always necessary to join in the back up dancer. It's my first time seeing this kind of duo..but it seem to work well. Sun probably looked good without all that hair..I wished they smiled a little..after all the title is Good Smile!

So Ji Sub and Park Han Byul! I don't care much about So Ji Sub..I haven't watched any drama by him but he's great looking. Park Han Byul!! I never knew I would missed her! I was so excited to see her in this MV and she looked great! The scene is very simple but meaningful..I wished I could do a video like that instead of thinking super hard! I think it's best to let the audience to intrepret the meaning of a video.

MPV Review : ZE:A All Day Long

Yes, I'm finally back with MPV Review! I could say I almost forgot about this post because of the long hiatus of music show..that I couldn't keep up which is new and old. Music show had been cancelled to show respect to the naval ship sinkage tragedy.

Music



Mazeltov was good but it didn't made me want to remember all their name..This song made me! I always like songs with piano playing..and I love how it completes the song.. It wasn't catchy at the first listen but after countless of listening it just stucked in my head. I'm very happy that this song doesn't have any auto-tune!

Level of Likeness: 9/10

Performance



The performance is average..it doesn't make me want to dance a long with them..I do love the part where the rapper (I think it's TaeHun or Siwan)goes up front and then the other members were expressing the song. I love the high notes and the outfits were okay..

This is obviously a well made MV and I do think it's a good video IF I already knew their name! it's so hard for me to identify with everyone.. I wished they didn't pick DongJun and JunYoung as the main lead because it's all I see on the video..the other members dissolved in the crowds. In one part of the video where DongJun runs off with the girl it seem like it was fake..ahaha they are singers, I don't expect much!

Today!

Just a quick update.

Today is Beast 200th day since debut!

and today is the premiere of the brand new animax! I almost forgot..and I think today is the birthday of my former classmate too!

3rd of May seems like a great day.

Introducing ZE:A

I wonder why SuJu seems like so easy although they have 4 more members than Children of Empire!

I had a hard time in matching their names with their faces rather than to remember 9 Korean names. Thank goodness I have basic in Korean or I will have a harder time.

I guess it's the same with anyone else that JunYoung and DongJoon were the first members to be noticed. JunYoung looked awfully like YooChun (He even appeared on a show as YooChun look-a-like on Mnet) and DongJoon is just have that distinct face..I thought he looked like the male version of Han Ga In!

After noticing the duo..everyone else looked the same for a while. I noticed Siwan looked like Key with his own style..then there's Kevin who I think looked like SangChu of Mighty Mouth! He's Australian bloke with accent too! HyungSik look like a flower boy (a term calling feminine looking guy) so I noticed him. Kang Hee also had a distinct feature once you got it.

As for HeeChul, MinWoo and TaeHun..OMGosh, looked like triplets! I thought I would get one right then I looked at another picture they looked the same all over again! I only could differentiate them went they look straight at the camera without tilting their heads.

HeeChul looked like Ryeowook when he's looking at the sides..I think MinWoo and TaeHun are twins when looking at the sides..if straight looking at the camera..TaeHun looked like one of the KBS Gagman and MinWoo looked..normal young joe!

I WON

On month of February I enter a contest by MTV Asia to win "S.E.O.U.L. Super Junior & Girls' Generation" Autograph Poster and while checking e-mail,

Jaime Lee of MTV Asia send me an e-mail telling me I WON!!

OMG, this is my first time winning a contest and it's Super Junior! I was hoping I will win it because it's really my first time entering a contest! It was very easy to enter the contest so I entered it. Wow. I won.

There were only 25 poster given away and I was one of them. :D

I'm worried though, because the e-mail was sent last week, I only reply today to give another address of mine because they can't send through PO BOX. *finger crossed.

The picture above is probably the one I will be receiving, since the e-mail said Super Junior and Girls Generation not Siwon and TaeYeon or other couple poster. I'm all good, since I want the wanted posted above or the least the magnae couple!

"Selecting a favorite member it's like asking who do I like better, Mom or Dad? I can't possibly choose either one. I have to say though that ShinDong is inspiring, he's big size but it doesn't stop him from chasing his dreams. Being an overweight myself, I think that's admirable"

Korea invades Animax!

I haven't watch Animax for a long time (I'm a Manga person) but I randomly turn the channel to 715 on Astro and stumble upon Animax frequent ad on brand new image for the channel. I was curious..was it new layout? I'm interested in changes so I tuned the channel frequently so I won't miss it.

It turns out that Animax is adding Korean Shows! WHAT??? Yes, from the promotional clip, I saw clips of Coffee Prince and Goong!

So I check the website to confirm whether it's Korean show or just old drama..well, here you are the quote from the website.

Its change in appearance is also complemented by the addition of more live-action shows led by a brand new Korean youth-interest programming block to serve up entertainment, variety, reality and ‘idol’ drama shows, as well as movies.


With Japanese and Korean entertainment proving extremely popular with youth audiences across Asia, Animax which already specializes in Japanese anime and youth programming, will add on Korean live-action shows in the channel’s programming line-up.


From May 2010, Malaysian Animax viewers can expect to enjoy the Korean programming block including entertainment, variety, reality and drama shows, as well as movies, starting initially with popular drama series like Coffee Prince, My Girl and Princess Hours. Well I am excited for the changes but although it seem odd..I think I won't mind if they just stuck being famous for providing great animes. I wondered how would the otaku receive this news, because if KBS decide to add English shows like American Idol for whatever reason..I am to throw a fit!

It just show how much Kpop influence in overseas that attracts Animax to show Kpop shows. Hallyu fever anyone?

Little Changes.

I recently changed a few settings in blogger and I stumble a new function called "Page".

I've shifted my Glossary post to the page and soon I'll add contacts info. It's time to get rid of some widgets! :D

I rearranged some of the widgets according my preferrence of the whole page. Hopefully you won't get too confuse. Everything about blogging is on the left and about myself it's on the right.

I got new header. Ahaha..not so creative. Their faces are EPIK!

What shizziy schedules, I got it from Astro website itself! I've watched it before on Youtube..I don't know if I'm interested on watching old episodes. As much the concept is interesting, I don't enjoy seeing people serenade each other. (unless it's Kim Kyung Rok and HwangBo) Though, it probably has better quality than the ones you watched on YT.

I'll try watch it on Saturday, see if was being dubbed or no Malay subtitle. Till then!

4 Weeks

My favorite music show is cancelled yet again! Music Bank will not return this week.

Sigh, it has been a month already without Music Bank! I hope when they return it would be spectacular because they got lots of time to prepare. I suddenly miss the MCs.

I haven't been watching other music shows as well.. the video quality is just so annoying these days.. and HD videos take ages to load. I'm going to wait for Music Bank to premiere.

Fingers crossed that it won't get cancelled next week.

Anniversary

As you might know, anniversary is a big deal in Korea. If you date a Korean, be sure to count the days of being together because anyone forgets the 100th Day anniversary will be good as death. This anniversary applies to almost anything, I don't know how to count the dates of 100th day since debut but I tried to get updated.

Anyway.. Hallyusurfer.blogspot.com is turning 2 on 7th May!

I got so many moments with this blog..I'm just happy to see new people commenting each day..deeply appreciate it! I'm planning to do something for this blog..more than just changing the header, like the whole layout but that usually took more than a week to finish. I'm sure I can have other ideas right? :D

It had been on my mind for a long time to organize a fan gathering with fellow KK people..I have no idea how to start because I have limited network. I'm so jealous of West Malaysian who had organize various gatherings..Probably I shall check Brunei Kpop community? I want to meet other fans like me too!

*sigh Tunggu sya pandai drive dan ada duit sendiri la..mau plan tapi tidak fleksible pun!

Analysising the Idol formula.

I'm so happy a new person followed me so I'm excited to blog more often, okay..honestly more like guilty of not blogging much..stop following me! LOL kidding.

Idols..thanks to Kpop it totally change my understanding of "idol". In Kpop terms, it is used to refer popular groups like DBSK and SuJu. These days I'm seeing newbies too garner the title idol. Probably it's changing to idol = groups because groups always do well.

Typically 5 is a good number for idols group, but the current trend is the more members the better, as seen with U-Kiss and After School. I guess we can thank SuJu and SNSD for that.

Although I love seeing more group members it can be hard for the members because fans can't remember well sometimes. Yes, I still having a hard time memorizing ZE:A. Someday I will, I promised. Another thing is the share income..as you know, they don't get much from CD sales and the sales aren't great either.

From my observation, 5/6 is the best number of members. Unless it's from the big three SM, JYP and YG, I would think it's best they stick with the rule. These big three have loyal fans that know trainee and get better exposure when they get ready for debut.

Apart from having talents, appearance is a major factor in marketing idols. SM tactics is to have at least one member that have strong appearance like JaeJoong, HeeChul, TaeMin, Amber and YoonA. These listed are usually the one first noticed by fans.

As for JYP, don't have a great face? it's okay..just wear some glasses and work out. It's all about the body at JYP. YG is famously known for searching talent rather than looks which indirectly garners fan curiosity.

We as fan would love to dig up stories on our favorite celebrities would love an idol with personality. I do think the background of members are taken into great accounts. Entertainment agency usually accepts more potential trainers who have stayed overseas. It's also good if they're interested in expanding their market in China or Japan with having multilingual singers.

I see that there are rules that shapes the idol personality after a long observation.

1. Idol members are usually prevented from smoking and drinking in public for fear of ruining their image despite they're not underage.

2. Best vocalist, get less talk on variety show. It's to show mysterious image for viewers.

3. Best dancers are usually rappers

4. Ability to speak English too are usually rappers.

5. 1st debut stage is cutesy or safe..the next album is 180 degree makeover and claim that they have become manlier.

6. Manlier or sexier always comes together with dark concept.

7. Everyone had their bad hair days..*shudders at YooChun's long hair or GD's pineapple hair..

8. They always dance. ALWAYS..I don't get it why won't they perform ballads more often!

9. Their songs are like Beat It. The have the same line over and over again.

10. No matter what, someone has to rap in a ballad song..except SNSD because they don't have rappers.

U-Kiss coming to Malaysia

The 7 member group is coming to Malaysia! I usually don't want to post this since I am so near yet so far but it's on 17th June! I might have a chance of going, plus it's a day after my mum's birthday! Hehe she's official 50 by then, so traveling might be possible!



I maybe just a casual fan now, but I've been following U-kiss since their debut and I'm not their new fan. I've already been one long time ago! I really love "Not Young", dislike Niga Chuwayo, disappointed Man Man Ha Ni and mixed feelings about Bingeul bingeul.

I'm happy they got more fan, I knew they could make it.. I bet the new fans didn't know this but U-Kiss did win rookie award back in 2008! Many said they didn't deserve it..didn't my boys proved you wrong? :D

Anyway, speaking of the video...they showcase their multi-language capabilities, SooHyun, KiSeop and KiBum are born and raise in South Korea..not really sure what language did they learn on their own. (i do know KiBum can speak Japanese) Kevin is famously know for living in USA and one of Kpop artist that are fluent in English. Eli also stayed in USA and China..he also good at martial arts! I think I've seen him writing in Chinese before. Dong Ho, the magnae had studied in China before and thus, he speaks and writes Chinese fluently. Alexander is from Hong Kong/Macau could speak 6 languages..

Oldies and Talented

Radio is sure a great platform to promote your song and showcase your talent. I've been watching radio cuts on YT (where else?) and I stumble amazing covers..I decided to check out the real deal.

I particular love D-NA radio cuts, and they've been covering Noel and 4Men. Noel is an old school idol group while 4men is a newbie (i think?)



I really like the song after viewing D-NA covering it..



LOL at Karam imitating Mika..I still can't matched Jay face with his voice..he has a really deep voice! He's the one who sing the intro!



Noel's Propose, I like the lyrics..very sweet! Watching this video is so nostalgic. :D



I don't know which one I like better, this cover or 4Men confession cover? It's really good in my opinion.

Black Day

Aigoo..I've been avoiding internet all week but I still didn't
finished up my assignment. My semester is almost finish, which
means project dateline is near..*shudders

Anyway, I felt so bad not replying to Didi earlier so I decided to
blog to make it up for it. Yup..all the work has made me forget
that yesterday was Black Day!

What's Black Day?

There's Valentine's Day, White Day and Black Day..actually every
14th is a special day in Korea but that's the BIG 3 14th celebration.
If you're an avid Manga reader or anime lover, you probably know this
already it's the same in Korea.

On Valentine's Day..the girl would give chocolate to the guy
she's interested with. So yeah, popular guys will get the most
chocolates. As for White Day, which falls on the following month is
when the guys respond to the girl by giving chocolates back.

And..Black Day is when singles who didn't receive chocolates will
be eating Jajangmyeon. Jajangmyeon is a noodle cooked with black
bean paste.

I don't know what is the literal translation of Jajangmyeon but I do
know it is known as Chinese Noodle in Korea. It's only found in Chinese
restaurant in Korea..own by Korean. If I'm not wrong, you couldn't find
it at a real Chinese restaurant in Korea...despite it being the most famous
Chinese dish. (I read it somewhere..or watch through Chitchat global beauty)

To answer Didi's question..

I've been to Korean restaurant in KK before but I always go alone
where I couldn'torder much..I don't recall seeing Jajangmyeon on
the menu but you could eat Hokkien Mee instead.. I don't really
like Hokkien Mee so I don't know where is the best.. :D

KBS World Jjang!

Well it's obvious my favorite channel is KBS World and they're so great because they're offering KimBum to us!!!!!!

LOL at my choice of words..sorry, but it's true! In conjunction of celebrating their 7th anniversary, KBS World is inviting viewers to participate an event called "World Date with KimBum".

Yup, the picture above is indeed cutie KimBum, of the Boys over Flower fame. He's an 89'er and yes, he's like my major idol back when "Boys Over Flower" aired on KBS World. I'm still rooting for SoEulMates, sigh..

What a bummer that it happen this year, it's my final year in college so I couldn't join even if I win..That's why I'm so good by sharing how to win this event.

It would be so great if they don't include the dance because it's supposed to be a story version why retain the dance scene? I do love the dance very much but it's teasing me too much!

I was expecting like Kelly Clarkson's "Since you been gone" or Pink's "So what" kind of video..I mean if you want revenge you would go all out!

R.I.P. Choi Jin Young

I can't believe this. I felt like it was so recent his sister died and he had to followed his sister mistake as well. This is so unfair to the children and their mother.

I hope Choi Jin Sil's children and mother stay strong. Two suicides in a two year span? That's too much.

Rest in peace Choi Jin Sil and Choi Jin Young. May God forgive you.

I thought I know everyone...but I manage to get almost all..if it wasn't for the spelling I'm very sure I could get all of them except some soloist and Ze:A members!

Aside from the usual Beast or SMTown obsession, I'm loving D-NA! I really hope this won't be another A'ST1 (btw, miss them so much!) I have not check their variety shows yet but I just like seeing them performing..:D While checking them, I realize something..those fanclub are seriously dedicated! I always wanted to be involved in a fanclub (international forum) but I just don't have the time and it's not always I love them... I mean, for example U-Kiss..I was regularly in U-Kiss forum (Rocketboxx) until they promoted Niga chuwayo... Some fan I am, not dedicated at all! Now I'm just a casual listener of U-Kiss. Maybe D-NA will suffer the same if they change 180 degree for the next single.

I'm just admiring D-NA faces at the moment.. InJoon is sooo cute, probably because it's my Chunnie biased..as InJoon look awfully like Chunnie! Karam was the first member caught my attention but his eyes like so huge I just want to ask him where he did them..I won't believe if he said it's natural! Jay is such an interesting kid! He should be friends with DongHo another 94'er ehehe that would be fun to look forward to, but he's amazing dancer..speaking of dancer, do you notice the people who dances well always end up being the rapper? (well I got any idea for the next post already!)

However I'm not interested with the pairing Mika and HyunMin..it's one pairing I don't enjoy. I just focused on the three BFF! I've been starring the group but it seem they don't have interaction with Ukiss or Beast..:( Maybe I missed it, do tell me if you saw it!

I've been trying so hard to memorize ZE:A but it's not working..I like the new single but the video is so not helping me at all! WTFish got so many cast in the MV! Hairstyle so similar..wished someone had crazy hair or something..

Also trying to know DNT better..honestly slipped off from my mind! Too bad they debuted when girls group ruled..Their single are catchy just not catchy enough to get attention. I only remembered while checking my folders. I can say I got more than 100 videos in my collection!! DNT really got talent especially magnae Tae Kyu! I love his voice!! I wish to hear his husky voice with squeaky Jangmoon (A'St1) voice! I think the contrast could work..

That's all my obsession talk..:D

I've been watching them since their debut and I, I'm so freaking happy! I don't care about it's Mnet or not, Beast won..they won!!

Revisiting

Back when I didn't have a specific obsession I used to check videos on the related video section..Aww, good times!

Well today I stumble a song I used to like very much! Cheered me up, remembering the good ole Kpop. I stumbled it because I was checking out Noel's "Despite Holding On" since Beast is going to perform it today on Mnet. I was bored while waiting so I checked the related videos and remembered Kang Kyun Sung!



I first know the song from music bank..the intro is similar to Neyo's so sick. He didn't do much these days..I guess, I think the last one was with Nicole which posted below



Will try to stalk information about him more..maybe I was blinded by the idol fandom! Anyway, He's actually formerly in Noel that's why he's on the related video.

Beast made me like this song. :D

MPV Review : SNSD Run Devil Run

I'm so happy that "Oh" promotions are over! I know their name is Girls' Generation but most of them are older than me and I am an adult..it's a little shameful to see someone older than me acting all cutesy. it's time to show girl power and what a great song to show it!

I'm not going to compare to that guided version. I like that there's no freaking auto-tune! The girls doesn't need it and I'm so happy they didn't went there again! Honestly I don't like that the lyric includes "Devil" but it's the part I always hum to..ehehe.. it's catchy at the first listen and I hope this will have more success than "Oh" or I'll think Korean simply doesn't have great taste in music. :P

With all that talk about being "Black Soshi" I totally expected them to be in dark outfits..the outfit looks okay..but I wished they all didn't wear the same..felt like I'm back in school but better looking uniforms! :P Not only that, their hairstyles are similar..This will be hard on the new fans..LOL I love their dance routine though!

Introducing D-NA

If I wasn't a blogger I wouldn't have tried so hard in learning all the newbies member name..Since I have no idea what to write, I thought why not learn their names through my blog? :D

2010 saw 4 boy group debuts..(Correct me if I'm wrong) CN Blue, F.Cuz, ZE:A and D-NA. CN Blue was easy to remember because I already know one member and they are easily distinguished. I'm not really interested in F.cuz but it's only 4 so also very easy..ZE:A, have no idea how to remember their names yet but will try.

When I first saw D-NA, I let out a big sigh..thinking "there we go again..everyone looked the same!" Now, I know they are not identical twins but having similar hairstyle is confusing..I always memorize looking at hairstyle, so yeah having really funky hairstyle does get you notice fast!

Just for fun, D-NA is often compare to DBSK because of the similarities..So here's my comparison..MiKa is YunHo because he's the leader, HyunMin is JaeJoong because just like JaeJoong he gives that cold vibe, InJoon is definitely Micky YooChun because they look so similar! Although Jay is the magnae, he's more like JunSu because Junsu is Aegeo(cute). I don't know if Karam resemble ChangMin though since Karam is cute as well..

What I dislike the most is that..Look at the top and below image posted..Don't you think they looked totally different? Come on, don't change your hair in between of promotional shoot and MV filming!

The guy who rarely smile is HyunMin, The Micky YooChun look-a-like is InJoon, Red haired guy is magnae Jay, The guy who looks like a leader (and is one) is Mika and the cute blond-ish guy is Karam..(yeah, I know Malaysian..LOL)




The easiest name to remember is definitely Karam..LOL which means sink (as in sinking boat) in Malay but so happen if it's in other spelling, "Garam" it means salt in Malay. Sink and Salt for a name..LOL

Basic information on them is that they are all from Xing (the group and the company)and also former team mates with UKiss' KiBum and Kevin with JunHyung of Beast. Yup, JunHyung..I felt weird, since I could totally see Kibum or Kevin being one of the D-NA!

I felt in love with Kpop because of the cuteness, so I do like cute image to make a return..Make it happen!~

A new habit.. AWESOME! Lol..I notice I've been using that word often in writing. I do feel Awesome this week as there's so many positive news this week and it's only Wednesday! just early Tuesday I felt like my life sucked but with Jay, GD, After School and Girls' Generation good news, I'm taking back my word!

1. Wonder Girls

Can somebody stop playing "Nobody" please? I had enough of it since December 2008, can you imagine how tortured I am to listen to this almost everyday? One of my lecturer sets it as a ringing tone.. everytime I go to Wawasan, the song never fails to appear!

2. SNSD

Just because one of my classmates plays SNSD songs everyday..and I've heard in pirated music shops often! Don't support piracy okay! Buy original!

3. 2NE1

I think I've heard "I Don't care" and "Fire". Oh I just remembered! Someone sung the song recently at the lift! So funny.. He sang "eh x7 we're 21" LOL

4. OST

hemm..so far I've heard Boys Over Flower OST and You're Beautiful OST..As ringtone and streaming on the player. There's also some random Kpop that I know it's OST..:D

5. Big Bang

Someone had "Last Farewell" as a ringtone. Oh and Lollipop seems to be a favourite of someone..because the person keep on repeating the song over and over and over again!

6. Random artiste

Rain, DBSK, Super Junior, Kara, Brown Eyed Girls, SHINee, 4Minute and I think that's all. I don't hear songs by them often but once or twice..but still worth the mention! Suprisingly..I don't think I've heard anyone played 2PM songs,and yet I've heard someone playing 4Minute song..probably because 4minute always on channel V.

I think "Oh" should be the final time SNSD doing cutesy stuff, since magnae SeoHyun is already an adult. As the teaser video previewed, tomorrow will be the day the MV released! I can't wait for tomorrow to come, probably again similar to Beast shock MV released, I'll be waiting while pressing F5 the whole time on twitter!

Introducing..KPOP?

In the latest issue of KLIK (cover Super Junior), I got confused with their title which says "Band Kpop Cinta"..I naturally thought "WTF, they named themselves KPop?".

LOL, actually their name is "Hey Miss Chenta" and the article title is not totally misleading as the article says that their influence are from Kpop.



Interested by that fact, I checked them out in Youtube.. apart from having English lyrics in their song..I don't find anything that resemble Kpop. Probably it's F.T.Island influence a little?

I think the basic of Kpop is having hook (repeated lines), Insane addictive beats (any song by Big Bang) and the oh so hateful auto-tuning! (insert gazillion kpop song here)


I did find some good covers..maybe they should try making covers?

random talk

It's been three years of obsessing Kpop idols..and I'm getting bored! Back then, there's a lot of information I learn each day..now it's like waiting for news to appear..boring!

I love searching for information rather than waiting the latest news..SuJu was the most fun one because 13 different personality followed by DBSK..So many random trivia about them!

Before the whole copy-right thingie going on, so many videos to be discovered..now everyone is afraid of being suspended.. I'm tired of searching all over again!

I thought sometimes that maybe I should just concentrate on one group..because knowing everything is hard.. you know what's going on with DBSK,SuJu and ..you know who! I thought maybe I shall just convert this whole blog into a BEAST fandom.. at least I will have a solid fan reader! ME! I love them so muchie!!

Nothing excites me anymore, I don't know if I could trust bromance anymore.. sad sad thing man. I want to go back before knowing everything about KPop! Just obsessing over YooChunnie was enough.

This blog is a mess.. I wonder when will I ever clean up.. suddenly I don't care about anyone reading this or not. Well, we grow everything it seems.

Cute, I don't really follow WGM but this couple is so funnily awkward! I can't help myself from watching!

I actually hated the pairing because don't we all know in Seo Hyun's head is all about "Sweet Potatoes"? LOL but it looked genuine that she like sweet potatoes than guys. The first episode was great, got to see all CN Blue members reaction..SO funny!

Although I love Kang Shin Woo(I can't believe I still remember his character name!!), but JungShin is so attractive! I love bassist! You know what I've noticed? Bassist always get less screen time..I know because in F.T.Island, I only want to see JaeJin but I can't see him much :(

Opps, out of topic already la.. Anyway, I was going to say that I actually noticed SooYoung gesture but I thought it was part of the song.. since I don't speak Korean! Soo Young Jjang! She's so kind in helping SeoHyun!

20th March

I wished I never knew about this, come on how many time do I have to suffer in my lifetime before I get to watch SuJu?

So here it is, SuJu finally coming down to Malaysia for the third time (please tell me I'm right because if there's more..I died) The first time they came I knew but I wasn't a big fan yet, the second one is for MTV Asia Awards in 2008 and boy did I curse a lot on that day.

What am I going to do on THE day, pretending it never ever happen and this is such a bad dream. Okay, most probably will be on my laptop the whole day watch my Super Show DVD or listening to Super Show II CD while playing the light stick all by myself like a crazy woman.

There's so many ways I tried to calm myself down. First, thinking that not all 13 will be there(I don't think KangIn, HanKyung and KiBum will be there) and hoping it would be cancelled. I'm so sorry I'm beyond crazy. I can't help to think the fact I'm so near yet so far! If there weren't ocean separating us, I would so sneak out and travel by bus to get there. I couldn't, I only can get there by airplane..which don't cost below RM100. You think I bloody rich meh?

If it never happen, so I won't have to worry.. SuJu need to know I am their fan in Malaysia.. I can't believe I'm missing out on such great opportunity! When I bought the DVD, the ajumma ask whether I'm going..I felt like want to cry already! My family didn't pick the right time to go KL!! What's more, the latest issue of EPop magazine is giving away some tickets!! Okay, I could try enter the contest but confirm I tak boleh menang. I mana ada money for the plane tickets too, FML.

Since 20th March is approaching soon, probably I'm a little bit crazy.

Can there be miracle? Life could get better! or maybe NOT.

I love this performance the best! Come on Music Bank and Music Core, learn it from Inkigayo! The elements were so cool and I just love the stage! The camera angle here is awesome, unlike the other two.

MPV Review : Kara Lupin

Nicole, HaRa, GyuRi, JiYoung and SeungHyeon are back!! (In case you're wondering, yes I arrange the names according to my favorite member) Well, it seem they're sticking with the sexy concept. Unlike most of fan, I actually don't like their hairstyle (except Hara and Jiyoung)Gyuri should just stick with long hair..Goddess always have long hair dear! Nicole and SeungHyeon hairstyle isn't bad but I couldn't see their eyes during performance!

Music



The song is a little messy but I find it catchy from the first listen. I love when they go "As usual it's mine" I have no idea what the song is about but from the title..is it about Lupin, the thief? I love this song more than I love SNSD Oh so yeah, it's a good sign!

The dance is rather comical yet I love it. I choose this stage because I love the combination of two performance. It looked special and mysterious. I love this performance and it made me like the song better!

Not exactly loving it although the concept probably suit the song. I just don't get the concept at all so I don't what to comment. The girls looked great in their costumes, very sharp and matured.

MPV Review : D-NA Admiring Boy

Another newbie! I wasn't really paying attention towards this newbie because I was busy and they aren't really attractive to me. Well I'm like a normal fan sometimes, I need some background stories before liking them. For example Beast has almost debuted artist and MBLAQ having Bi (Rain) as their "boss". It does help if you're from the big three (SM, JYP, YG).

Music



Apparently lots of people comparing these newbie with DBSK. As much I hate comparison in Entertainment(long story) I do admit I see some similarities. The song is rather cutesy which is a bit unusual since debut usually promotes heavily dance song to get attention. So there's where the DBSK comparison comes from, DBSK debuted with "Hug"! I like the song, no engrish but I'm used to Korean so it's a nice change.

Level of Likeness: 7/10

Hemm..why does everyone looked the same to me? I'm so sorry, but I will take time in knowing all of the names soon! I don't like the outfits and stage but the boys did well in their performance. D-NA should learn from Beast to make some bromance on stage. It's a cute song and it's such a waste not to show bromance. I can picture all the cute bromance while watching the performance..but sadly none appeared! If there is, tell me. I need my bromance fix..since DooSeob is busy making me believe they're hot. One fanservice I manage to catch is the "heart". Not enough, please do more!

P/s I just got to know that they're from Xing.. as in the group! Which Kevin and KiBum of U-Kiss and JunHyung from Beast previously from! So they aren't exactly newbie? Xing always reshuffle but I hope they stay put this time or I won't pay much attention.

My stance on 2PM

This will be the final post regarding 2PM and I shall never talk about this topic ever again. It's just an ugly part of Kpop I wished I was never involved.

Regardless of who's right or wrong, I don't care about what 2PM does. I'm going back from where I started, not liking them. I only started liking them during "Again & Again" promotion, but then I forgot how I felt already thanks to this mess. For such a short period of liking them got me into this mess, I wish I was never a 2PM fan and just forgot this. Watching Idol Army and Wild Bunny was the biggest mistake I've done.

All I remember now is the pain that 2PM gave me. I don't have much sweet memories with 2PM. I just realize everything was a lie.

There's so many ways of breaking up but I don't understand why they had to choose the hard one.

A'st1 disbandment made me really sad, but I will remember them forever. As for 2PM, I need to get you out from my life.

MPV Review : Beast Shock

If you had see me when the teaser, MV and the performance been released, you would probably thought I was crazy! Jump up and down with loud scream..urgh, I do look like a fool!

I didn't really like the song at first because of the auto-tune but with constant repeat it just stay in my brain. I got the chorus in my head on constant repeat despite the engrish! I want sing it but come on, I'm such a grammar police! People would stare me in disbelieve! I forgive them though since none of them are native English speakers.

This performance would be so better without the effin lights! Music Bank didn't learn from Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry" mistake! The camera angle is just so bad.. it doesn't capture the boys emotion well. What's with only YoSeob and JunHyung with hand microphone? The rest are using headmics..does that mean the rest are lip-sync?
My boys did great it just Music Bank sucked.

Perfect 10! I have never see such perfect MV that fits the concept of the song! Yes, the video did "shock" me a lot! I wasn't expecting this kind of vibe from the boys! What I love the most is that the camera angles.. it synchronize with the song very well and express the song really good. Love this video very much!

Drama discuss

If you watch Korean Drama regularly, you would notice that most story revolve around "love triangle" plot (and the current trend is rectangular and other polygon)

I know the plot is overly repeated but that the essential part of Korean drama. By 3rd drama, you can totally predict who's going to end up with who.

So here's the discussion,

"Who do you support in the battle of love-triangle?"

A typical love triangle story must have the lead actor as "Nappeun NamJa" (Bad guy) while the other guy is the "Chakan NamJa" (Good Guy) and the lead actress will be someone very cheerful and sometimes dumb.

I always like Good guy..I don't see the charm of the bad guy. Like most Kdrama, I know the Bad guy will get the girl. Why do I like the Good guy instead the Bad guy (which most Korean prefers..Nappeun Namja is quite famous)?

1. Way cuter.

We all have our preference but isn't it obvious? I love Jang Geun Seok in "You're Beautiful" but Jung Yong Hwa is certainly more attractive to me. In "Autumn in My Heart", my first Kdrama was even clearer in visual. Obviously Won Bin is way cuter than that thick eyebrows! (I know his name okay, it's Song Seung Hoon)

2. Better personality

Again, referring to "You're Beautiful", Jang Geun Seok character always annoys Park Shin Hye..it annoys me too! Kang Shin Woo (I mean Jung Yong Hwa) is just so angelic beside Jang Geun Seok! In "Taking Care of Young Lady" Jung Il Woo character is just too nice for his own good. Yoon Sang Hyun is "..." (lol, I only watches Jung Il Woo parts)Another good example is Goong, Kim Jeong Hoon!!!! Gahhh, I hated Joo Ji Hoon so much for having Yoon Eun Hye instead of the good Lee Yul!

3. Available!!

As mention above, the second guy always end up with no one.. I can't remember any drama I've watched that the good guy gets the girl. So it's like the writer's gift to us fan to fantasize with the available guy! hihi

Having said all of those, not all drama I wished the other guy would get the girl. I rooted for Lee Byung Hoon in "Iris" and Kwon Sang Woo in "Stairway to Heaven" it's the perfect match and no one should tore the perfect couple! Probably because the other guy is a jerk (Iris, Jung JunHo is such a jerk!!) or a brother (Shin Hyun Joon..as Choi Ji Woo step brother, cannot one le!)

Hopefully with the referrence, I didn't give too much spoilers. :D Btw, ironically Jung JunHo and Shin Hyun Joon are best friends in real life! :P

MPV Review : Untouchable Living in the Heart

My Favourite duo is BACK! I'm so excited for this comeback because I'm really down lately without my usual obsession doing any promotion. Untouchable, it's good to have you back!

I really like Narsha however I really hope they only make collaboration with Secret or HwaYoung. Narsha is famous, and it looked as if they want to ride the fame ride together! Well at least they're performing with Ji Eun! As I said before, I'm not a big fan of Korean hip hop but Untouchable is exceptional! They sound really good when rapping!

Blonde virus infected Untouchable too! It wasn't bad Sleepy, but I wish you didn't keep your facial hairs. The Action and Narsha looking good.

Like Untouchable previous videos, they tend to replace the featured singer with some random people.. I thought it's better that they didn't replace and just leave them out completely like "Tell Me Why" video. It's weird seeing somebody else lip-sync to it. The video is a little simple.

2PM is going under!!

This is funny!


So there, the power of netizen. Lots of people are angry with Hottest (2PM fanclub)action of releasing pictures that can harm 2PM image, but in some ways, I could understand why they did that. It probably means, "I hate 2PM.. I'm going to tarnish your image forever and I don't care anymore"

Probably eh? I always hate anti-fan who does that. This action came from a former fan and I guess it's the way of expressing their disappointment. Small action are unheard so this is great way to make sure the stand is in the headlines.

So okay, it should be done nicely but why do we have to care anymore? We didn't get what we want and we would like to act childish so you'll give us attention.

I'm sticking with KHottest, I knew Jay's return was almost impossible..and it was IMPOSSIBLE. This is a dark period for Kpop fans, I pity those who just got to know Kpop because Kpop isn't like this. I love KPop because it made me smile..Hopefully, new Kpop lovers won't be interested in this issue.

"Only 13" protest was the first dark part of Kpop I got to know, it was really a huge deal back then but luckily I wasn't into blogs at the time so I forgot that part and become Kpop fan. New Kpop fan, Kpop can make you smile.. try searching for old videos like Xman! Be happy and forget about 2PM..

Me and JYP are done! I don't care who's right or wrong at this moment. All I know is Jay and SunMi won't comeback and it's DONE.

Have you seen Beast new teaser?! I'm so excited for it that I watched it! Usually I pass on teaser because hemm, I always end up dissapointed. I know my boys will do well! OMGosh, Blondie is no longer blondie.. :( I knew it they're going to color it because I saw him wearing snowcap on SGB!

The above link is my previous post about the 6 member 2PM and I was right. 6 Member did end up being doing better without Jay and it's official, Jay is no longer coming back.

All this while I hoped I was wrong.. I made a promised to myself that if I was wrong I will buy all 2PM CDs. Now, I just want to break the CDs, I'm going to stay away from CD shop now...lol

So then, there's this one unsolved mystery.. What did Jay do during "Again & Again" promotion that made JYPE made this decision?

We could only guess.

All I want now is a statement from Jay. Without his statement, I don't want to deal with JYP anymore. I'm shutting any music by JYP and I don't care if it's selfish.. I'm just using my right as a consumer. Preferably, I want to see a video of Jay saying we should support a 6 Member 2PM. If not, bye JYPE.

My message to Jay is

JaeBum aka Jay Park,

Please come back to the entertainment scene. You can do acting, be a solo singer, or perhaps in a new group. I don't mind..All I want is you to be back in the mainstream not underground. Don't waste your talent, you know well you're better than that. I miss you a lot.

Welcome Back

Open earlier than schedule but hehe there's a reason behind it.

I couldn't be on time in properly design my blog but I really want to blog about the recent events so here I am with a poorly design blog! I hope it's at least readable. :D

I really don't like the colors but the blogger isn't being friendly with me..I am going to search for a new layout so be patience. :)

Random Talk

Yeah this blog was closed for the month of February but I am still so busy with all the festivity and assignments. I thought I won't leave this month archive empty so this is the only post for February!

It's not like I run out of ideas to write, I'm not feeling the mood of writing anything at all! call me crazy now, actually I was thinking of quiting Kpop altogether.

It had been in my mind ever since Kibum wasn't actively present in SuJu promotion activities. He didn't even go on stage at least once! Han Kyung does it for me, He was my favourite member (now, no favorites) and the news of him possibly leaving SuJu made it really hard for me. Prom15e to 13elive? I don't know.

If you have been reading my previous blogs, I'm sure you know SuJu was the reason I got into Kpop and I have said before if SuJu does break-up, I am going to quit Kpop. It's not certain yet but I'm just not as excited about any Kpop news like before.

I always listen to new song release but I have not listen to my favorite duo, Untouchable new single..I'm glad it got good review though! :D One of my favourite 2008 rookies, UKiss also come out with a new single which I have yet to listen..

It's so unfair to my other favorite that I'm going to quit Kpop. Especially towards Beast.. They were my favorite 2009 debut! beating my SM bias, f(x)! probably I should reconsider quiting SM and JYP! They are definitely the cause of my kpop depression.

Sun Mi leaving WG is such a sad news for me.. she's the only reason I like WG! It doesn't seem like Jay's coming back to 2PM too! SM definitely betrayed me badly, with DBSK and SuJu..I just can't Always Keep the Faith and Prom15e to 13elive!

Should I quit Kpop?

I wish 2009 just erased. Bring in 2007-2008! Best Kpop years!
