It seem unreal that 2 years has passed and my boys are back from military! Haha I really did "survive" 2 years without their new music. Their last single "You You" was a fun upbeat song and made me wanting more. Now back with "Call Me" with Kpop Star 2 Top3 finalist, Andrew Choi. This song was produced by the talented Andrew Choi himself.
The song begin with soulful RnB vocals by Andrew, makes you drawn in slowly. The rhythm is easy on the ears and I always had like Andrew's voice.
I get happier at Sleepy's and The Action rap parts, I almost teared a little. I miss these guys. I'm not an expert on hip hop, but I love the way they rap and their voice are always great.
I hope for more songs by them! Where's Hwayoung by the way, not the female Hwayoung.. His voice was great, too bad he's not always promoting.
I wrote this post last month, forget to post it up as I got busy in the middle. I didn't watch them perform this song. I wish TS spend less time on BAP and focus more on Secret and Untouchable.

I'm loving Phantom I Already Know (다알아)
I didn't have to blog, You Already Know that I love Phantom! (Didyouseewhatidid!) I blog this as soon as I heard it. I'm such a fan.
The MV though.. Makes me jealous! I really wanted to go the concert so bad! I still remember the date. OH so jealous. If I couldn't go to their 2nd concert, the universe hates me. A little trivia, the clips are contributed by the people who went the concert! Awesome!
The song is so short though, like less than 3 minutes. It's enough to captivate me but I wish it was longer..more Sanchez's adlib. The teaser didn't have Sanchez's part..was mad and now the song is short? Arggh.
Sanchez and Hanhae voices, omg it's like eating honey, very sweet and good for you! Kiggen, that deep voice is like velvety creamy sweet cream. It's lunch time when I wrote this. I'm sorry. I've read the lyrics translation, I'll have toothache right now, it is even more sweeter. These guys are so romantic. Have you read Like Cho Yong Pil and Come as you are lyrics translation? Any girl that marries them in the future, I'm so jealous. All mistakes are forgiven. Like seriously.
Could they be performing this? I'm not sure because they didn't promote Come as you are, but I'm excited anyway. I'm excited for anything Phantom!
P/s Happy 1st Anniversary Phantom! Phantomism for life!

You in my arms
Even with just one album, the late Yoo Jae Ha is a singer that many talented singers of today still talk about.
It was on Immortal Song 2 episode on Yoo Jae Ha that makes me want to share his talent. It was a great episode. I highly recommend to watch Ha Dong Kyun's performance.
The arrangement was apt for Ha Dong Kyun but it didn't stray too far from the original. Gilgu Bonggu harmony was just perfect. I really love the combination of their voice along with Ha Dong Kyun. I was impressed with his last performance on Immortal Song 2, but this performance was even better and umm he won! SPOILER! Haha
The lyrics are poetic, it is unfortunate that Kpop only had one album of him. Do check out his album!

I'm loving Verbal Jint featuring Troy Bumkey Walking in the rain
Despite hating rain, like the actual raining not Mr. Jung Ji Hoon. I like rain related song. My favorite is One Way's Rainy Days and Beast's On Rainy Days. Speaking of which, I really hope it rains in South East Asia, because we got bad haze over here. Thankfully my area had some rain so it isn't as bad as other area.
I didn't really know about this song before clicking the video because I didn't understand their tweets. I thought VJ was just supporting Bumkey's Bad Girl..Ahaha but this is awesome, great rapper and great vocalist, I had this great feeling about this whole song.
I wonder who produced this song, it felt like Primary or Zion.T kind of production. The music is rich with musical instrument without being redundant. I love the smooth transtition of Verbal Jint's rap parts and Bumkey's part. I know this is is VJ's song but I'm more biased towards great vocals of Bumkey. His voice control is playful yet classy.
I do love Rap but I'm not really good in commenting about it. Verbal Jint do work well with any artiste, I have not heard any collaboration of his that doesn't sound right. It's his deep voice that stood out in any collaboration that makes him a good rapper. I find girl rappers weird..only a few I can enjoy like Yoon Mirae and Miryo..the rest, are kinda meh or plain bad.

Random Post
I got have those random post sometimes.. You probably curious what's my other life is.
I had a personal blog before..but since my life is pretty much dead, I stopped blogging. I don't have any interesting event to share and if there is, it's too personal for public view.
Time flies by without notice. I'm scared but I can't wait for next year to start already. 2013 seems meh. Plus, next year is MY YEAR! The year of Horse! Though, usually it doesn't mean good luck. Nevermind, it will give good luck those next to me!
May has just ended and pheww! Wasn't it a busy month for weddings? So many invitation and many Kpop celebs are getting married as well. I didn't attend any since I hate weddings. I don't know..just the atmosphere is not my thing. Lot's of meeting distance relative, those I will only meet during wedding. I just don't get the Kadazan culture of inviting everyone connected.
It also means the end of Kaamatan or Harvest festival. My least favorite holiday because I'm not pretty (pageant contest), not talented (singing contest), sore loser (traditional games) and not a drinker (lots of booze). I'm so not Kadazan, my ancestor would cry. Sorry. this child of yours can speak more Korean than Kadazan.
I've been studying Korean.. Alone. I got so many books on Korea. Ahaha that's all I buy these days. I just purchase Lonely Planet travel guide on Korea. Hmm maybe I should have bought Seoul guide instead, but it's okay can watch Korean travel shows with ease. Lol

it's my blog and I write if I want to.
Happy Birthday Micky Park Yoo Chun!
My wish for you is to appear on all the music show in Korea. I miss DBSK, but I'm fine with JYJ. As long as you are happy.
I haven't watch anything YooChun lately, but he is still my ultimate bias.
Gaah. I feel old too. Kpop changed so much over the years.. Never thought DBSK would end up like this and SuJu..don't let me start.

JYP out Brand New Music IN!!!
I'm on roll! Woot! 3rd post of the day!
So I read BN_Music tweet today and it says "JYP......" I'm like "wtf do they need to talk about JYP?" Before actually trying to read hangeul. I clicked on the article and yes! I shouted for joy literally as I try to understand the Korean article.. San.E is in Brand New Music!
If you follow my twitter, you would know how I react.. Hmm. Yeah, go check out my twitter @HallyuSurfer #selfpromotion
He released "Rap Circus" MV today and WARNING IT CONTAIN CLOWNS! And harsh language..:D
I hate clowns but I can watch it because it's not in person. Lol It's fine to skip the video, it's pretty cool editing but what you got watch is the subbed version provided by thehiphopLE on YouTube. Just read the translation and cover the rest...if you're scared of clowns. Kekeke
Anyway the lowdown is, he definitely dissed JYP.. I am assuming he referred the company as "Zoo" and he also hated his past project as he said to forget all the nickname because he is starting fresh with "Big Boy". Hmm. I can't say more, I probably got lost in translation since I am not sure if he dissed GD or not.
Welcome to Brand New Music San.E! Woot I am happy for you! JYP is going down! Woohoo! I told ya! Ahem, yeah. I left the JYP fandom since JaeBum left. I knew JYP was trouble. Don't know why you join JYP anyway, the company forces you to go JYP style all the time.

Officially Loving Geeks
Better late than never. After Phantom's last stage, I didn't have any song that I really love. EXO was disappointing..I mean, I love watching them on stage but the song got to go! Music Bank was not too fun. I feel like missing an episode wasn't a bother.
Anyway, I watched Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook on Sunday and I come to learn more about Geeks. I love their single "How Are you" so much, so I anticipate the performance. They didn't perform it but I like their talk part. Hehe the origin of their group is interesting.Through online. yup, it's the new era. Hehe For the video, kbsworld on YT has the video in subs!
Their breakout song "Officially Missing You" sampled Tamia's song of the same name. I was too busy fangirling other idol at the time but it's my current jam now. I prefer this version than with Soyu.. it just sound a little bit more fun. I think?
As for "How Are you?" I saw their performance and loved it. The song is cheeky and fun. I love the whole vibe of the song and the lyrics are so current. The last part is spot on! The boys voice tone is a little high and it made the song so much brighter.
Although I do like Wash Away, it wasn't my favorite because I like seeing the happier side of Geeks rather this mellow side. It's no bad just, they looked better playing around the stage than being serious. Normally I prefer songs like "Wash Away" but Geeks is an exception.
They're currently in WA Entertainment which is cool! Because it's Phantom label too! I am slightly blur about it but yeah.. Phantom is in WA Entertainment beside Brand New Music.

Jealous of Eat Your Kimchi
I wish I could stay in Korea and do the things they do. Their fans are crazy, they give gifts like they're Kpop Idols and get super welcome at the airport. Wow. I am so jealous! I wish I could ask for donation for my own studio, and buy a photobooth so I can play with it all the time. I wish I could interview all those Korean Celebrities.
I would definitely troll my fans by creating a Kpop Chart and not choose the no.1 sometimes because I can. I can criticize English usage in Kpop MV while still use spellcheck on my blog so I won't call the fans "guise". I'd skipped call idols in different name though because I respect B1A4 and Beast.
Maybe I won't call my shows in random acronym because it's plain silly. I'm not an English Teacher but Wonderful Adventure Now Korea, Food Adventure Program For Awesome People and Open The Happy doesn't sound right.
Simon and Martina, if you read this.. You both are such lucky people. I'm jealous of your achievements. I hope that if you decide to move to Japan or open a Cafe, you don't ask for donation anymore. Maybe get a loan from the bank or ask for potential investors. I know it's not my money but hey, let's not be too greedy. Just a friendly advice.
If you're still wondering why fans are pissed off when you decided to choose one of the Top 3 instead of the usual No.1 video, Kpop fans are dedicated people. Kpop fans would do everything so their idols can win on the charts. Imagine how they feel when they did so much hardwork so you will review it and then you decided not to review because you don't like it. It is an offence to their hardwork. Let me say this, your viewers gave you this comfortable life. They have the right to say anything.

I'm hating EXO Wolf
Title is mostly based on the song, this not anti site.
I have mixed feelings about Wolf I can't finish the MV but the Mnet Countdown performance was bearable. Minus the noise, I enjoyed the performance. I think the parts are evenly divided. Maybe it wasn't but I didn't go "where's xx" at all. SM really nailed that part. Some other group have less members and it was so obvious that their parts were not evenly distributed.
I think I've read reviews on the snippet since last year... Apparently there are fans leaking it, which angers the producers. I figured maybe SM is trolling with us. There's no way it's going to be about wolf...right? So months past, and uptil yesterday I was still hopeful that this just some epilogue or teaser stuff. Obviously I'm wrong. The song gave me an impression that SM is testing waters with us. It is definitely a SM thing to do. They always seem to experiment with stuff.. I wish they did the same with Super Junior. Everything lately sounds bits and pieces of Sorry Sorry.
I tried to finish the song but every time someone howls, I automatically stop the player. I've done this to other songs a lot of times before but never this bad. I want to so badly to like the song but that howl has got to go! Sorry, I can't properly review it.
The choreography is probably my favorite this year. It was super powerful and I like it highlight each members. There's more people on stage but it wasn't messy. I'm just glad it's all 12 on stage not like Mama.
The biggest mistake was Kai's hair. DON'T MESS with THE FACE's hair! Come on, he has like the most teaser last year, and you mess with his hair? Not cool, not cool! I didn't like Sehun hair either. He doesn't look like the guy who would volunteer to have that kind of hair.. Maybe Chanyeol would be better to do that. Speaking of which, that guy look different again. Took me double take to recognise him.

Stop making reaction video!
I tried watching those video hoping it will be funny like eatyourkimchi or finebros' react video series but no, it's literally just watching people watching video. Vlog is the way to go, or like me blog about it!
I can't find Kpop videos without having reaction video on the result. At first, I thought cool, non Asian likes to watch Kpop...but I already know that from Allkpop, which I believe had lots of Non Asian fans judging from the comments.
Speaking of reaction, I can SLAKPF (speak like a Kpop fan) on it. If you watch Korean variety shows, you would know that reaction is a big part of talk show. That's why there's numbers of guest to make the show lively. For example Star King has a lot of "judges", the guest spot is often a challenge for comedians, idols or actor because everyone wants to take part. Only guest with talent or great reaction will be allowed to be guest. Which actually a part of the show I don't like.. It put less spotlight on the actual contestant.
Another thing why reaction is so important in variety show is the PD (Program Director) often like to pick exaggerated reaction on film because it looked better for the show. Guest always overact so they got better screen time. If your favorite guest didn't show up on screen, his/her reaction was weak. Korean shows love reaction a lot so much you will see them in slow mo, added effects like "!!!" or "대박" or "OMG" across the screen. More often you can see them repeatedly in different shots.
To all the "reactors", it's better to just do a Vlog, commenting on what you thought of the video. You can take eatyourkimchi as a guide but don't blantly copy everything! If editing video isn't your thing, do commentary as you watch.

Hyeri and Tony Ahn
I don't know what to feel.
Girl groups aren't my thing, but lately Girls' Day caught my attention because I think Hyeri is gorgeous in Don't Forget Me and Yura was my fave in Expectation. H.O.T wasn't a group I know well since they disbanded before I was a Kpop fan. I have seen Tony on variety show and old clips but that's it.
I dislike the idea of big age gap relationship but who am I to say anything... I just find them weird. Let see how long this relationship last but I rather them not being together for long.. It's just not good image for her.

IMPACT TO DEBUT!!!
Yes the horror of caps lock, but that's how I FEEL!
I didn't want to blog yet because no date was released yet but I was angry at the top comments on Allkpop for not leaving nice words. Sure, there were some people commenting on Byun Jang Moon, whom is my favorite already but I have to blog because I'm so excited.
Impact is a male vocal group from Star Empire (Jewerly, ZE:A, Nine Muses) with members Van, Sungho, Junghu, Jangmoon, and Pilrib. For now, I'm just going to talk about Byun Jang Moon, because I only know him. He is the former member of A'ST1 whom I really really love. His voice is easily on my top 3! It's not only me, but go to any A'ST1 old videos, you are bound to see people talking about his voice. The tone of his voice is unique, there's something about it that make me go crazy. He is the reason I love A'ST1. I was completely devastated when they disbanded. Miss you so much Sung In Kyu oppa, RIP.
There's no one else I wanted to redebut more than him, so when I got the news back in 2011 about him redebuting, I was excited but this Star Empire only debut him now, well about time!
That said, I understand the fan who were against Star Empire to debut this group. I clearly remember how DSP debuted Rainbow and neglect A'ST1... They had so much potential to be great but no, girl groups was more popular that time hence Rainbow got more attention. However, this is vocal group! I really hope it stay that. Byun Jang Moon can dance but no, don't ruin my chance of hearing more ballads from him. I would be very sad if his part is short.
On the bright side, if Impact daebak, it will naturally benefit ZE:A, Jewelry and Nine Muses. IT MUST BE GREAT, PLEASE!

Psy is not a Gentleman
Well, it is true looking at the video..lol
In short, I don't love it. The music isn't something I would voluntarily play and the video was not funny..my humor is weird so there's that. For me the whole thing felt like recycle. I always like familiar things but Psy Gentleman felt like a bag of ideas that I already know.
I would have stop watching at the part where Psy unties the bikini string, because that's borderline offensive for me. I only manage to finish up to end without seeing behind the scene footage. BTS stuffs are something I avoid..I rarely watch bloopers.
After a while, the video reminded me of Nice Guy video by NigaHiga, KevJumba and Chester See. That was good. Maybe I get their humor more than Psy version. Psy was being rude in a way I can't laugh about. It's like laughing at someone falls down, which is mean.
I know why GaIn was selected as a cameo but I wish she didn't. It reminded me too much of Abracadabra (I know that's the point) that I can't help but to compare it. Why not go all out by inviting all of BEG members? Why only GaIn?? Is it necessary to include all Infinity Challenge members? I don't watch the show so I can't relate. Haha and Jae Suk was good but still meeeh, seen it.
For me, I think it could have been done better. I think Psy had all of these ideas that he wanted use and I would say to drop some ideas. Mostly stuff that reminds us of Gangnam Style.

Random update
Because I can.
At this point I am so not sure if i could board the plane or not. There's new obstacle everyday. The trip suppose to happen in a month.
I wish I could blog comfortably but it's so hard because Kpop just give me reminder about this whole trip which makes me headache. Expedia, you ruined my life.
Anyway, since I'm already writing.. Let me do a quick review on stuff. I didn't quite like Phantom's "Come as you are" despite the featuring with Verbal Jint. It's just not my style of music with all that jazzy feel because I hate jazz music. It's difficult to explain because to be honest I describe song I don't like as "jazzy".
As if I need any more reminder, Korea is now in the spring season.. Kpop is filled with many spring theme songs. Busker Busker is sure big this time round, wow. 2AM ballad is fine, not really catchy but good. K.Will's Love Bloosom is not my favorite of his. I really like him singing more sad song because his voice has this great sad quality. Infinite Man in Love isn't exactly "spring" but the feel is definitely spring like. I like the song but it doesn't stuck in my head for some reason. I keep on forgeting the beats....
I'm actually worried about the N.Korea threat. I do know it's common for them to give threats every now and then. However it feels different this time, not because I'm actually probably going to S.Korea but Gaesong closing and their warning for foreigners to evacuate makes me feel anxious. With Chinese tourist no longer entering N.Korea, the income of N.Korea is becoming lesser each day. Not having money can make people go crazy and I'm afraid it will get crazy.
I hope N.Korea can reconsider their decision, not fighting with their neighbours but to come together to share.

I'm loving Nu'est Yobeoseyo 요버세요
The title is in Korean because they have a different song with the title Hello. Yup, way to confuse the international fans. A little info, you greet someone in person with Ahnyeonghaseyo 안녕하세요, but on the phone, you say Yobeoseyo.
The members are quite young, apart from Ren, I didn't find any factor that makes me want to learn more about them because I don't have much space in my brain for all the kpop idols. I still at least try to listen once of their song. Yeah, finally a song I like!
I'm more of a dance ballad fan than faster song so this fits right for me. The thing that caught my attention was the choreography, it was different that usual with all the props and more interaction with background dancer. Haha, to be honest..all I wonder was how they were going to Random Play Dance to this song. It's a popular segmen on MBC Weekly idol where idols have to dance on spot to song that are randomly play in different parts.
I don't know the members name yet but their vocal were good in the song, I was attracted to the first guy who sing. His voice totally capture my attention. I guess he shines better in slower song because I hardly notice him before. I'll check other past video to be sure.
Whether you like ballads or not, do give the performance video a try.. The choreography is fun to watch. I would skip the MV.. It didn't do much for me.

SLAKPF : Idol
Let see how this goes, I've been a Kpop fan since 2006 and technically I am a sunbae (senior) in Kpop fandom. I like to share my Kpop knowledge to many rookies out there. This post is Speak Like A KPop Fan! You don't need to be fluent in Korean to sound like a Kpop fan, you just need to know the meaning and you're good to go!
For this first post, the first topic is IDOL. It's no brainer really, without idol.. Kpop wouldn't be the thing you know today. Idols are so common today, more than 80% (totally made that up) of the singers on today kpop music program is saturated with idols.
The word "idol" is an English word, and yes it does mean like what you read in the dictionary back in the days when idols are first introduced in Kpop scene. My generation probably cite H.O.T., g.o.d., Sech Kies and many more in the late 90's group as idols. Older generation would probably refer SoBangCha (Fire Truck) and "Seo Taiji and Boys" as originator. I didn't experience both since I only a Kpop fan in the late 00's but from what I have learn, it was mad crazy.
I could go on and list all the craziness of fans do back then but this post will be long. To give you a picture, have you seen Michael Jackson concert videos? That is tame compare to Kpop idols concert. Belieber fandom are pretty crazy too, but Kpop idols are crazier times 100. Koreans are extremely passionated people. While no one get assasinated, there were incident of almost poisoning.Basically, idols are literally idol.
Today that meaning change. Idol of today is define as a group of either female, male or co-ed singers. The numbers of members are varied typically from 4 to infinity, current largest membered group is A-Peace, a whopping 21 member. Lately trio groups are considered idols but not common.
Although the term idols is not really what it originally meant today, some bigger fandom do experience a high level of craziness. Sasaeng fans are individuals or sometimes group of crazy fans that would stalk, harass and a whole lot of dangerous thing towards their favorite group. DBSK had the worst Sasaeng fan experience. The sasaeng are known to follow every move of their idols, to the point of chasing cars, trepassing their house and hack their personal info.
Top 10 Idols you must know (rank by seniority)
1. Dong Bang Shin Ki
2. Super Junior
3. Big Bang
4. Wonder Girls
5. So Nyeo Shi Dae
6. Kara
7. SHINee
8. 2PM
9. Beast
10. Infinite

Daniel, Marijuana? That's Nonsense!
Did you see what I did there???? DMTN! ㅋㅋㅋ
Ahem, excuse me. I was trying to sound like myself...instead of boring reporting.
This is written based on one article, so this is my first reaction. I totally did not see this coming. I had to rub my eyes and read twice when I first saw the news on allkpop. I scan through the comments, clearly no one has yet to claim they knew/suspected it. I can't wait for netizenbuzz to post the Korean netizen reaction next. I've been refreshing 10 times already.
I'm not the biggest DMTN fan, but I support them because they were from MC Mong agency. I was upset they left the company but understood the decision. Hemmm..by the way, If DMTN can, why not Block B? That's for another post. I am especially supportive of Daniel, because he is Yoseobie friend. WHYYY DO THIS TO ME?!
I've seen him trying hard to audition, saw clips of him on Strong Heart, Oh My School and Qualification of Men. The point is, I know DMTN members are working hard for every opportunity. I wanted them to succeed somehow because hardwork should pay off.
Imagine how I feel upon reading this news..this is completely at the wrong timing. Am I hoping this will be fake? Sure..but the damage is partly done. The company already stated that the matter is complicated than it is seen.. No denial. That's all I need to know.
I guess it's shocking because Daniel seems to have that good boy image. I can't even imagine him smoking to be honest. Yeah, news flash..I'm so naive. He is reported to sell too, there goes my everything. I am starting to feel sorry for those Kpop idols, but this time I can't defend him.
I just hope everything will be alright for the rest of the members. Daniel, I am disappointed.
UPDATE: according to netizenbuzz, reps denied smoking but admited to selling..well okay then, that's like worst. Huhu

Kdrama Talk : Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek
I do like this drama but don't have that longing to watch it. You know how you feel about your favorite drama, like "nooo.. I have to wait another week!!" this drama did nothing like that for me. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy the drama.
Perhaps because I studied multimedia, I like the aspect of advertising interludes the drama. Some of the ideas are predictable..lol maybe just me? But I like to be right. :P The thing the drama lacks right now is love line.. I wish it was a little more than just friendly kind. The past stories can give a miss and erghhh why make me hate Han Chae Young!!! I will never forget her in Sassy Girl Chun Hyang! I wish she wasn't so spiteful.
Park Ha Sun is so pretty! I can't help but smile along whenever she smiles. Even if this drama sux, I would continue watch for her and.... GO CHANG SEOK! I was so happy to see him in the drama. That's like a sealed deal for me. I like his personality a lot, especially in 1n2d and Running Man! so glad his character on the drama is just like him!
I recognize the foreign worker, he appeared in 1n2d.. His Korean is so good! This drama has two idols, but don't matter since both are only playing small part. Secret's SunHwa is playing TaeBaek's sister and Dalshabet's Ayeong working at GRC. For fun, both of them are love rivals.
It's a light drama..like it's not going to make you bawl but there are touching moments. It's funny in some parts but not tummy pain funny. It's a good filler between drama in a good way.

I'm loving SHINee Dream Girl
SHINee's Back!
We get it MinHo, it was fun in Sherlock but this time too? I guess Minho needed more part.
SHINee is one of the groups I loved since debut, I've seen so many quirky outfits by SHINee, it felt like uniform. I feel so happy to see those bright colors in their outfits! The song is so SHINee, I don't even know how to explain that meaning.
The song sort of remind me of their past songs, when they were less famous (before getting no.1 on charts) only this time is so much better! Now it felt like each member had equal parts and Taemin sounded like Taemin. Back when he first started to have more parts, he kind of sound like Jonghyun. Thanks to his stint on Immortal Song 2, I actually can recognize his voice. There is not single part of the song I didn't like, overall I really like it. I'd say it's actually less impact than their previous song.
I didn't like the MV, because the effects are driving me crazy. The choreography is slick! I love the mic and without it, it was not overdone. SHINee will never disappoint when it comes to dancing.

I'm loving BAP One Shot
What a return! At first, I didn't want to check this out at all...because I'm still at "Stop it" phase.. I still want cutesy BAP!! And can we just let them rest? I thought HimChan injury would make it clear but no, they are still on stage working it.
Anyway so I can't help but to check it out, and I love every single beat. It has all these interesting catchy part and it sound cool. I usually hate "uuu" part but this was so cleverly used. This song made Baby (yup, FC name) remind why they were a fan in the first place. It has the same vibe as their debut single and it's so BAP.
The lyrics are predictable with funny Engrish but hey, having flaw is good because everything else is perfect. What I like the most about this song is that every member had impact on their part. You don't go, "where member X" or "member Z has too little part" yes line distribution should be fair in the first place but if you manage to get a strong impact with one line, I'd say that's good enough.
One Shot choreography is SIIIICCKKK. The "push up" routine was so spot on. Of course, magnae Zelo part is the best. That's GIF image worthy right there. I feel like only BAP can pull of their dance move because they owned it.
Lastly, PLEASE HAVE A LONG REST BAP!
The Baby all over the world need time to save money! ㅋㅋㅋ

SBS Kpop Star 2 rant
I just watch the Battle round episode, and I cannot accept the fact they eliminate Yoon Joo Suk! The guy is talented, he can play the piano beautifully and he has that ability to control his voice! I really dislike the comment "emotional-less" given to him because no idols of these 3 companies are perfect in conveying emotion all the time. It's a competition, you get tension and nervous at the same time. It is so hard for me to understand their decision.
As a fan of music, sure emotion is important in delivering the song but for me technique is king. You just lost another talent right there. He just need some experience from the real life to get those emotion flowing.
Top 10
1. Bang Ye Dam
As the youngest in the group, I think he should have wait until puberty strikes. It's kind of tricky since male normally change their voice when puberty. He would need time to adjust to his new voice later because his voice now is not staying forever.
2. Choi Ye Geun
I don't like the tone of her voice, it's too unique for me. She plays well on the piano but will she be okay with just singing? I feel like the judges are most focus on her piano playing and mannerism rather her singing. It's no surprise since the judges are dancers
3. Sung Soo Jin
Never thought she would made this far, she indeed made an improvement. For me, it's just feel average. I don't get this show anymore, is this a boot camp? The fact a contestant improve is more important than having someone talent. What a joke.
4. Lee Jin Woo
I think I need those headphones too because I couldn't share the same joy when she entered Top 10. She's alright but that's it for me. I don't think she did anything remarkable.
5. Andrew Choi
Aigoo, feel sorry for him la. He should have joined Superstar K since this show seems to cater younger contestant. He has an interesting warm vocal that is easy to the ears. I'm not sure if he would succed well enough in the business alone but putting him in a group is weirder. He stll has that aura of a person working backstage.
6. Kim Do Yeon/Shin Ji Hoon
Doyeon withdrew so Shin Ji Hoon replaced her. Now this is ironic. What did the judge felt when she sang the last time round? Did they feel her wanting to move on?? Her song of choice is perfect for her but it has parts that are flawed. JiHoon, for me is great for what she is now. I think she should have focus on figure skating more. She's still young and having to attend to both is not only hard for a child, but adults as well.
7. Racoon Boys
I wish they had different name. Heh. I have no idea why I can't seem to agree with the judges..okay, specifically JYP. He said that MinSeok is a great rap writer. I don't understand Korean so I skip that but don't he sound the same in 3 different song? Brian and McKay did something different each week but the rapping style by Minseok feels the same. Acoustic is lovely on stage but I think they need something fresh.
8. 2000 Won
I like the guys but the judges kept on giving harsh review. It's so funny because YG doesn't compose/write songs, JYP is lousy with Hip Hop and BoA is not Hip Hop. I don't think any of them understand the genre well. I think they would have the most success out from Kpop Star 2 later on.
9. YouU
The name... Anyway, the girls were better in SM since SM are good with girl groups. I absolutely adore MinJoo and Soyeon. The rest are just OK. I understand why many didn't like them but I feel they could easily be molded to be a good idol in today's industry.
10. Akdong Musician
I would absolutely hate it if they end up working for any Big 3. I think the companies would have destroy the group. They were good before YG started interfering. I believe they're still young, have more room for growth but maybe by themselves.

Kdrama story
My main passion is Kpop so this blog is more about music than other stuffs but I like to be balance with my blog. In this post is how I get to know about Kdrama.
My very first Kdrama was Autumn in my heart, which could have been the reason why I'm obsessed with the season. That or maybe because I love yellow color lol. If I was born in Korea, it would be autumn. Song Hye Kyo was so beautiful and Wonbin is my first celeb crush!
I could tell this story in so many ways that I just don't know how to start. My parents don't let me watch TV on weekdays during school time and thankfully this drama was shown when my exams were over. I don't know if it's because it's the first drama I watched since a long time or simply it was different from the TVB (Hong Kong drama) that I'm used to because I was so excited about the drama. My friend who caught an episode like the drama but couldn't watch it because her family wanted to watch different channel. Everyday I would have tell her what's going on and eventually wrote the summary for her because I am a bad storyteller and forgetfull. That piece of paper is being circulated in class. I feel proud to perhaps introduce Korea to others! (U ingat lagi ah? Time darjah 6 tu..lepas upsr?!)
I've watch a couple of drama since then, Jang Nara was so influential for me, I just love her! I also like Goong and Sassy Girl, ChunHyang. Good times! These are on a differenf post.
KBSWorld started premiere in Malaysia and I think the first drama I watch was Bad Love. It was forgettable...but I finished it for Kwon Sang Woo. It was my first time watching a Korean series not dubbed and it was weird. Since then, I try to catch up with the latest drama.
Another first, Coffee Prince was the first drama I watched close to real time. I thought it was significant to add because I remember going to YT every week to watch the drama during my biggest exam year. It was risky business I tell ya. It didn't matter to me because it is still one of my favorite dramas ever! 2007-2008 was a good year to get to know YT, back then google haven't bought YT which was awesome because you got no problems with copyright issue. YT was famous but not as famous like the present times. I'm still sad whenever my favorite uploaders got suspended. Boohoo.
As times goes by, the number of Kdrama to watch keeps growing. You literally don't have enough time to watch every single Korean drama. Unless you never sleep or you have no life. I love Kdrama but sleep is king.

Around the World with Mizz Nina feat Jay Park
Finally..... I can say this. I support my local music scene! Lol
I knew this since last year because @HallyuM (Kpop happening updates in Malaysia) tweeted about the rumor of Mizz Nina to collaborate with a Kpop artiste. I figured Jay Park right away because they shared the same stage on MTV World Stage in Malaysia last year. Then @NazimOthman confirmed my prediction, he is a Malaysian actor who is a Kpop fan.
If you wondering why the single is in English, Mizz Nina has been trying to breakthrough International market. I'd say she's popular in Malaysian Radio but that's it. She had Colby O Donis and Flo Rida collaborated with her in the past. She's good but ya know I'm busy with Kpop to listen to other stuff. She's famous for being the daughter of one of the richest person in Malaysia and is married to Noh, a singer in a band called Hujan. Fun fact, Hujan means rain.
Around the World is produced by Chacha Malone, part of Jay Park AOM crew. I love the song except the part when there's no singing part, because it feel like the beats are just put together randomly, possibly to make way for choreography? Jay Park raps in Korean is sort of surprising, will they perform in Korea? I wish Mizz Nina would slip some Malay just to balance it out. The lyrics are pretty disappointing, it lacks creativity (the part "I want to touch the sky" is meh) and I have to point out that Malaysia-Korea travel doesn't require visa, unless you stay more than 90 days. Yup, I googled.
I'm really interested on what other's think of the song. I know it will be played in Malaysian radio but will it reach Korea? This is sort of out of ordinary.

Learning Korean
I am happy whenever I see my twitter timeline and understand the Korean tweets. I don't understand all but it feels like an achievement.
Before I was a Kpop fan, I was more into Japanese culture because I grew up reading manga. I read less but part of me still love manga a lot. I had a group of friends who were into Japanese cultures as well. They were more advance than me, they know some Japanese phrases and can write in Japanese. I thought it was cool but never bothered to pick up the language.
I always think if I'm going to learn a new language, it has to be Chinese first. It is my ultimate goal to master Chinese. It's a complicated story but I wish someday I would be very fluent in Chinese!
However, as I become a Kpop fan.. Learning Korean was a natural process. I started to learn Hangul first because I was jealous at non kpop fans who had their names in Hangul on Facebook. Suddenly I wanted to know how to write my name in Korean. Btw it's 밀리. ㅋㅋ Hangul is really not that hard, I started with 안녕하세요, 사랑해 and 오빠.
While Hangul is easy, speaking Korean is hard. I know the difference between Jeondaemal (Formal) and Banmal (informal) but there's saturi (dialect) too. There are many ways to express a simple sentence. For example Thank You can be Kamsahamnida, kumapsumida, Kumawoyo, kamsahae or kumapta. My spelling seems odd but romanize Korean is not easy too. That's why I resort to type in hangul, because it look better.
Now I speak some Korean to my dogs. None of them understand Korean yet, but my dogs are already bilingual, so no pressure. Lol If I'm alone, I mostly mumble in Korean and when I watch Korean drama. Instead of studying like an exam, I prefer learning Korean naturally. It's a slow process, especially when I don't talk to a Korean or live in Korea.
Is it necessary for Kpop fans to learn Korean, nope. Music is universal language but there's no harm in studying hangul. Fighting!

Rest in Peace Sung In Kyu
Cancer has robbed yet another star from us, I'm so sad when I read the news. You know how they say, "no news is good news"? I knew InKyu was sick back in 2011..it really did feel like it was yesterday I read that news. It's so unfortunate that the next news was this.
Sung In Kyu was a rapper in a group called A'ST1 (pronounced A Style) debut in April 2008 and disbanded in November 2009. Their songs were 1,2,3,4, Back, Dynamite and Yearning of the heart (Boys Over Flowers OST). Please do watch their radio videos..heck watch all of their videos. It's not that much, since they only active for a year. I love every single video available on YT.
A'ST1 was my favorite debut in 2008.. Yeah, I love them more than SHINee, 2AM, 2PM and others who debuted in the same year. It's so ironic how I got to know them, DSP is a stoopid company who made lousy marketing move. Before the influx of foreigners in Kpop, SuJu was the first group to have a foreigner in the business, HanKyung. By having Tomo (Japanese) and Hai Ming (Chinese) in the group, DSP market them as a challengers for SuJu. It angers SuJu fans, including me because well, anyone could have misunderstood the concept.
So here I was prepare to protect SuJu to comment A'ST1 on YT..remember I am 17 back then, lol. Instead I fell in love with the group. Haha 반전! Twist ending. 1,2,3,4, back was my song! It was a catchy song and the boys sound awesome. Since then, I become a fan and you could imagine how angry, sad and frustrated I was, when DSP announced their disbandment a year later! I hated DSP so much, I even hated Rainbow. I felt DSP didn't treat A'ST1 properly like Rainbow. Ah, in case you don't know.. Despite the level of fame now, Rainbow was one of the popular debuts back then.
I still love the group, so I try to keep up to date with the group members. Jungjin appa is preparing debut with a new group in Japan, Tomo is hosting a show in Japan, HaiMing went back to China, HanByul is part of Monday Kiz and last time I check, Jangmoon is in Star Empire to debut as Impact. Star Empire......is so late. The news is old, please give my JangMoon debut.
I remembered the letter back in 2011, the one that InKyu wrote to tell his condition. i was already upset then, since before his announcement..there weren't any updates at all. Turns out he was sick. In the letter, he mention he wants to be on stage in the future. It breaks my heart, the dream was not fulfilled. This is so upsetting. Part of me, still feels this whole event is unreal.
인규 오빠, 사랑해요.
Thank you for all the joy you have given me in your lifetime. I really hope the other members will succeed for you. A'ST1 fighting!

ㅜㅡㅜ ...... T_T
My title cannot be more random than that! Anyway, if you don't get it.. It's emoticon for tears. In this post I'm discuss/review two hip hop song with tears in the title.
Bae Chi Gi feat Ailee "Tear Shower" 눈물샤워
It's super hot on charts and I've seen lots of people raving about it. It's keep on getting 2nd on Music Bank, I hope they win because charts are like so predictable. I want to hear them indies do some Thank You speeches! I like the rap parts but not the chorus. I know... How could I hate Ailee's part?! She is indeed, amazing but I dislike the "lounge feel" or the "old feel" of the song. It's just not my cup of tea. I've heard various K Hip hop, it's nothing to shout about, but it's good.
LeeSsang feat The Seeya's Eugene "Tears" 눈물
Coarse/ Husky kind of voice is kind of tricky for me, I sort of like it sometimes but at times I feel like giving Gil a huge bottle of water. It definitely is not boring, though. Lol. As seen in Running Man, Gary is smooth with words. I love the song, it easy listening and catchy within the first listen. I'm anti CCM so it was really hard to review Eugene, hmm..she definitely sound helpless as in good for the feel of the song, I think she's a good vocalist but in some parts on the higher end is making me cringe. It sounded sharp, I think Baek Ji Young would have nailed her part so much better.
P/s sorry for spelling errors if any.

Supearls disband
What a disappointing decision made by YG and the girls.
There has been rumors of discord with Lee Michelle few months ago, maybe its part of the reason of disband. What's the real reason, nobody knows.
As a fan, I'm truly disappointed for having hopes on this group. It was a highly anticipated group from Kpop Star. I think YG thought Lee Hi wouldn't fit the group and without Park Ji Min, the group is not as good.
I would have prefer this news broke out after Kpop Star 2 ended. It feels weird to watch Kpop Star 2 now. YG better not let me down again with Lee Seung Hoon. I'm still waiting for him to debut.
In another news, I truly don't want Akdong Musician or Racoon Boys to debut under Big 3. I feel like the Big 3 would make them focus more on "audience" rather than music itself. I think maybe SM won't sign contract with anyone this year as well.

HallyuSurfer, name explained.
I write this post for my twitter account as I noticed a number of real surfers following me.
Sorry to disappoint, but I don't surf ocean wave at all, I surf the internet and the waves only mattered to me are sound wave and Korean wave. I don't even swim.
You've learned science back in school on what is sound wave so I'll just explain what is Korean wave. Korean wave, better known as Hallyu is a term describing the popularity of Korean Pop culture overseas. The term is first coined by the Chinese media, as Hanliu.
I am a foreigner who loves Kpop, therefore I called myself, HallyuSurfer.
Feel free to click the unfollow button.

Idol Analysis : Concept
Idols concepts are a lot but if you take all the unnecessary adjective from the description, it really goes down to just Sexy vs Cute.
Cute
I love cutesy stuff, and cute concept is the thing that made me a Kpop fan in the first place! It's something only Kpop can pull of. Well, Jpop can be cute too but naah Korean bromance FTW! If I were to name 10 favorite idol performance, 8/10 of it are cute concept. I love group members interact with each other during performance, I love the playfulness of the song and I love they are smiling on stage!
However, cute concept can be bad sometimes like T-ara's Bo Beep Bo Beep, DBSK Balloon, or SNSD Kissing U. I don't even want to let anyone non kpoppers watch those, I'll let them discover it themselves.
Sexy
It's a tricky concept because the line between "confident sexy" and "cheap sexy" is thin. I love looking at choco...ahem, you know but it feels uncomfortable to watch sexy concept. 1. Because I know how their diets are, 2. It looks cheap at times. I can't count how many time I stopped mid way because it was so distasteful. Ahemhyunaahem.
There are positive things about sexy, it shows confidence and hardwork. I love charismatic sexy male concept and female groups do need to grow up from cutesy concept too.
Short post, but I want to at least write a post everyday.

Short post, but I want to at least write a post everyday.
Variety Guide : Immortal Song 2
I love variety shows but it's really hard to blog about because I am not really passionate, it don't matter for me to miss an episode. I choose to write Immortal Song 2 because today is Saturday!
Immortal Song 2 is a music competition that features singers from variety of genres battle each other to win the trophy. Each week, has a new legend and singers will choose the legend's song to reintrepret. At times, there are special week featuring old shows, holiday festival and many more.
The singers on show are part of fixed cast, recurring guest or newbies. The main MC is Shin Dong Yup, while Moon Hee Jun and Jung Jae Hyung are the backstage MCs doing commentaries with the other singers. There are 500 audience acts as the judges.
The order of who goes first is chosen by Shin Dong Yup, the legend or invited guest will comment on the performance. The audience will vote via pushing the electronic button. Winner will be chosen with the higher number of votes.
Here's a secret. I mainly watch for the commentary. I usually skipped the performance to watch the reaction. If the reaction is really good, then I will rewind to watch the performance. My favorite cast are Sweet Sorrow, Ulala Session, Hong Kyung Min, Ailee, B1A4, SuJu KRY, Infinite, Cha Ji Yeon, Jay Park, Hyorin and Changmin. Actually a whole lot more...but it will be a long post.
The program introduce more singers and especially musical actors, initially meant to showcase idols singing capabilities but idols are too busy to commit to the show. It's a good show for the whole family.

Album review : Phantom's Phantom Theory
1. Hide & Chic (feat Microdot)
2. 조용필 철럼 [Jo Yong Pil Cheo Reom, Like Cho Yong Pil]
3. Dutch Pay
4. 할 수 있는게 [Hal Su Itneunke, The Things I Can Do]
5. 손톱 (feat HJ) [Son Ddob, Fingernail]
6. 말 놓을게 [Mal NuhEulKe, I'll Talk Plainly]
7. 조용필 처럼 (inst.)
I don't exactly know how to start or how this post will be, I usually review based on what I feel at the moment as I literally listen to the song as I write the review. It's not like an in dept kind of review but if you want to discuss, just leave a comment.
1. This song proves how bias I am with Phantom. If this song is sung/produced by someone else, I wouldn't bother to listen twice, perhaps not even finishing it. The reason how I come to love this song is because of the awesome teaser! I totally got fooled by Hanhae, and Shin Brothers was awesome! I don't like the beats but I kept listening, just because. Microdot is Sanchez's brother, who was part of ALLBLACKS along with Dok2.
2. There's so much reason why I love this song, I already blog about this song but I need to say how I love the lyrics. My favorite part is Hanhae's "I'm not lonely because dreams caught me when I was young". My favorite song of the year so far!
3. This song had two teasers but both only featured Sanchez part which I absolutely love so I was curious how it sound like in full. Admitedly I was disappointed I didn't quite love as much I thought I would be BUT! I watch their radio performance, it was so fun and lively..so I ended loving the song. It would make a great main song so I'm hoping Phantom to perform it more in the future! Dutch Pay is a Konglish term for "going dutch" which means bills paid separately.
4. This song screams "CHEESY!" It has a lot of FEEL. Koreans would understand me. I do like the song a lot mainly because I love Phantom's voice in it but my face can't stop cringing for the overloadness of cheesy, mushy and greasy adlibs. Thank you for the rap parts, it actually bearable but ugh, the chorus is so emotional.
5. I don't know who is HJ but she sounds like Hwayobi with similar singing style. This song is my least favorite song maybe because Sanchez only rap in the song and it just feel mediocre. it's good but compare to what I've listen, this is just meh. The guitar was good and the beats are good, just feel plain. The good thing is, it felt perfect for Kiggen, I like that he started and ended the song.
6. Before talking about the song, let me inform you about Korean culture. Elders are always respected, there's two form of speaking formal and informal. Only friends of the same age or had mutual agrement on it are allowed to use the informal. So yeah, that explain why Kpop fans are always practising "Oppa" or "Noona". As you could guess, this kind of song is not my type but I can always find stuff to love. The song is full of wits, the lyrics made referrence to other "Noona" song, Lee Seung Gi's "You're my Woman" and SHINee's "Noona so pretty (Replay)" After several listen, the song got stuck in my head. The chorus and beats are easy to follow, it's heavy but it has sense of familiarity. The ending is 대박. Lol.
7. I can't find the instrumental on YT. I was hoping to sing along. Sigh.

Three is a crowd
First of all, Happy Lunar New Year! I'm celebrating it, so that's explain the lack of post. It's the year of snake, and I hope there will be great improvement on the blog.
As you might be well aware, I'm a big fan of Phantom, I still love idols but I am leaning towards less pop songs. It just so happen that the songs I like currently are from three member group
Aziatix - Cold
In case you didn't know, the guys recently signed a record with YMCMB for US advancement. I didn't expect it but wasn't surprised. I'm not familiar with them but they were regularly featured on Allkpop back when they first started out. Their musics are mostly in English, so I don't really check them out. I stumble their video on TV and this song got me hooked! This song is love at first listen!
Lunafly - Clear Day, Cloudy Day
They sort of debut last year. I don't recalled them performing on music shows. I would say they're like indie but has an idol feel. I like acoustic guitar but for me it serves like an interlude rather something I would listen to everyday. I just like the fact they sing their song in English too. They're good enough to sale their music but nothing to go crazy about. Teo is so pretty!
One Way - U Drag
So much love, I love this group before Phantom. I would be so excited if they're making a comeback but it seem unlikely right now. Chance is on Duble Sidekick team who produce a few top hits last year is probably preparing a new idol debut, while Peter and Young Sky are a duo called D20 (Detour) who also produce some tracks. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I just state a few that I know from reading tweets. Please comeback! This song is one of the older song but still good. I love the relax yet random song. Hehe.

Cheer Up, Mr Kim
I didn't need to think much whether I want to watch this or not because Kim Dong Wan is starring it. He is my bias in Shinhwa! I have not watch his other acting gig but I felt that his character was written for him. Either that or he is sure a good actor! I like parts of the dialogue that I can relate to. Some parts can be predictable but it's can't be avoided. I'm still watching this because I want to know how Cheolryong find his brother and how HoKyung overcame his anxiety. Please let him overcome it writer-nim!
Sat- Sun
My Daughter SeoYoung
I was going to full blog about it but it's not easy. Whether I will blog it or not, time will tell. I watched this because of the director. I've watch his past drama, Master of Study and Brain which both I loved and he tends to use his favorite people..sort of. I notice it was the same people I saw in Brain in this drama. I like the actor, Shim Hyung Tak whom he has work with in all 3 dramas and the director seems to like doctors a lot. It's these little facts I love when I watched the drama. The drama hit 40% rating which is HUGE. I kind of hate the whole secret theme but I'm still watching this because I want to know how Park JeongAh character falls in love with Shim Hyung tak character and how Lee SangWoo opens up to HoJeong.

School 2013
This drama is a franchise of a popular old drama that made many A-list Korean drama actors of today. I watch it mainly because I want to spot potential big star of the future. I was also happy for Choi Daniel and Jang Nara reunion since Baby Faced Beauty. I'm still watching this for Choi Daniel and JangNara couple to blossom and cute friendship stories.
Wed-Thu
Jeon Woo Chi
bluuur...might drop this soon. Sageuk (historical piece) are not my thing. I'm sorry Cha Tae Hyun. You're a good actor no doubt, I just don't like sageuk that much.

Tasty Life
I know this drama got cut in the end but I just started and I don't know what to expect. I really like Lim Chae Mu in Unstoppable Wedding sitcom. There's a cheating plot and I hate it. I might just drop this for that reason alone. Right now I just fast forward their parts. I'm still watching because of the Lim Chae Mu's tomboy daughter.. Korean scriptwriter don't really know how to write for tomboy character well.. I wonder how this one will turn out.
Mon - Tue
Kings of Drama
So many reasons to watch, Kim Myung Min is one of my favorite actor and finally a Choi Siwon drama I could watch! I have not watch his previous drama. I've seen World Within and On Air, which I did like so I know I would like this too as well. I have read the ending so I'm no longer watching because it has spoilt for me. I might watch it later on but I thinking reading recaps is enough.

2013 Kpop wish
This post is a mixture of prediction and expectation of what I think will happen this year. Do not take this as a referrence at all. I've been a Kpop fan for years so it's not wrong to do this!
Prediction
1. More idols
Despite what expert might say, idols bring more cash than any other type of Kpop singers. This trend will not die. My proof is that even VIXX and Nu'est who are barely recognised in Korea are invited to an award show here in Malaysia. International fans tend to notice idols more than other artiste.
2. More sub units, solo or collaboration from idols
Yeah, I know I'm late because there's 2 Yoon from 4Minute and Infinite H. I always like the idea of sub unit, but so far nothing that makes me go crazy over. Solo from idols did well last year and if I can choose anyone to go solo, I pick Niel from Teen Top because he is talented to bring out the whole song alone and I think it's time to show his personality. For female, I think it would be great to Song Ji Eun of Secret to do a comeback. Oh of course, Hyorin of Sistar would be great as solo too!
Wishes
1. Self produced songs by idols
I'm not that fan who searches for translation for every Kpop song I love. I want to understand the song through music itself. Idols are often criticize for lack of input on the music production and I hope they can attempt to put forward their hearts out.
2. Reunion
I take any kind of reunion! I just want to see part of Kpop history that I missed out. I'd like to see DJ DOC to make a comeback this year, they had a controversy last year..I'm not sure if it has resolve but it will be great for them to comeback in midst of a lot of hoobae. H.O.T. has always been a popular topic in reunion but I say....unlikely. It will be great to watch one performance in any music show.
All these are predictable..let me throw in a big one. Maybe a new idol couple? I think Super Junior should be starting to reveal their relationship. Another one, I think we will see more contract problems like Block B.

I'm loving Phantom Like Cho Yong Pil
If you're looking for a good review, it's not here because I'm totally bias about Phantom. Not a single day gone without thinking about Phantom. If you don't like Phantom, please don't leave a comment. Any bad comment about Phantom is unforgiveable.
I usually don't check teasers because it can be misleading (like SM &TS) or simply I don't have much internet data. I know I whine a lot about not having internet data but it's true! I only have 3gb a month and I used all of it in 6 days. Now I'm running on slower speed meaning I can't watch video.
Anyway, I know somehow it was going to be epic even before teasers because Kiggen @Hybrefine always tweets about it. When I find out last week that it was titled "Like Cho Yong Pil" (조용필처럼) I literally jump up for joy! Lol
Let's start with the video! I really like the documentary style, I thought it reflect best of the tone of the song. I love the cameos.. I only noticed Microdot (Sanchez's Bro and rapper),Verbal Jint, CEO Rhymer (Brand New Music) and CEO Kim Do Hoon (WA Entertainment). It's long 7min but it contains all necessary part that tells the story well, it was well balanced. If I were to fix it, maybe no talking. Just subs on screen. Please watch all 3 video!!
I feel like tearing up when I heard the beginning. It was like piercing my heart.., it was so soulful! Sanchez vocal was so good, his "woo woo" part that I usually dislike is just so sad!! I am speechless. Comes in HanHae and Kiggen who are equally good. I have not hear such a beautiful intro in a long time. I really think there should be more attention to this trio.
Sanchez soulful sad voice is so charismatic that pulls you into hear more. I really don't know how Hanhae does it, he is ridiculously good at transition from singing to rapping effortlessly! His passion for rapping is clear but he can really sing! Kiggen part may be a little less but he has a presence in his deep yet clear rap that adds an interesting element in the song.
The chorus is so addicting, I keep on singing it since teaser was released. I love the composition, nothing was out of place, I love the blend in of majestic orchestra sound with modern beats sound. It's a great piece that pays great homage to the creator of Kpop, Cho Yong Pil while still sound modern for today's society.
I'm surprised Cho Yong Pil allowed Phantom to use his name just because it's risky and duh, he's Cho Yong Pil! Rest assured, Mr. Cho.. Phantom did your name good indeed. I thank Cho Yong Pil for being the inspiration for such a great song!
I watched their performance on Mcountdown, again I almost cried. I feel they really own to their song. It's so crazy of me but I really feel it that way. I am so happy to discover their music. For Cho Yong Pil and Phantom, I hope this song can be on top 3 on Music show! Please win once at least, so I can hear some thank you speech! I can't wait for their Music Bank comeback, I will be waiting and #tweetflood again.

My KBS Drama Awards Reaction
WINNERS LIST (credit : dramabeans.com)
Daesang: Kim Nam-joo (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly)
Top Excellence, Actor: Song Joong-ki (Nice Guy),
Yoo Joon-sang (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly)
Top Excellence, Actress: Moon Chae-won (Nice Guy)
I am happy that top honours goes to the dramas I have watched. Shin Ha Kyun who won last year presented the award to Kim Nam Joo, looking dashing...yeah I am a big fan of him, I've been waiting for this moment since he won! Ok, let's get back on track! I'm so happy Kim Nam Joo won the award and I truly think he deserve the award, not only the drama had high rating but also she acted her role well. Yoo Jun Sang was cute that night, calling NamJoo "Chagiah" who was also the MC. I know family drama isn't popular internationally, which is a pity because it's a great drama. I highly recommend it. As for Nice Guy, well it's Song Joong Ki! Who doesn't love him? Moon Chae Won won again! I was surprise how soft spoken she was, I really love her badass and tough character.
Excellence Awards:
Daily Drama, Actor: Kim Young-chul (I Will Give You the Moon and the Stars),
Kim Dong-wan (Be Strong Mr. Kim)
Daily Drama, Actress: Kim Ye-ryung (Love Love),
Seo Ji-hye (I Will Give You the Moon and the Stars)
After Smile Donghae, I gave up on daily drama because it's a long commitment and I always hated mid through. I actually wanted to start again with "I will give you the Moon and the Star" (gaah long title sux) because I like some of the actors but I miss the first episode so I skip it again. Kim Dong Wan is my bias in ShinHwa so I started again this time. Drama, please be good. It's still early episode on KBSWorld, so I can't say much.
Miniseries, Actor: Shin Hyun-joon (Oohlala Spouses)
Miniseries, Actress: Jang Nara (School 2013)
Mid-length Drama, Actor: Uhm Tae-woong (Equator Man)
Mid-length Drama, Actress: Lee Bo-young (Equator Man)
What is the difference between Miniseries and Mid-Length? I'm guessing one is Less 20 episode, and one is 20 episode.. Despite not loving Oohlala Spouse, I do think Shin Hyun Joon deserve the award because he is a great actor. Surprise Jang Nara won again.. Does KBS really love her or what. I love her anyways so congrats Eonnie! I didn't watch Equator Man, so no comment.
Serial Drama, Actor: Joo-won (Gaksital)
Serial Drama, Actress: Yoon Yeo-jung (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly)
Supporting Actor: Kim Sang-ho (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly),
Park Ki-woong (Gaksital)
Supporting Actress: Jo Yoon-hee (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly)
I didn't watch Gaksital, but I do know JooWon is a great actor..If I'm not mistaken this is his third time winning award in KBS for all his KBS drama (Baker King Kim Tak Gu, Ojakgyo Brother, Gaksital) His best buddy also won, hehe I like Park Ki Woong hair.. I know but the color is so pretty! Again, I am so happy Yoon Yeo Jung, who also the MC won.. I want her as my Korean eomma! Lol Kim Sang Ho character is funny and heartwarming and Jo Yoon hee did great as well for her role but I wished Jin Kyung had won! She was in 3 hit dramas, Nice Guy, YWRIU and Cheer Up, Mr.Kim
Actor of the Year, awarded by PDs from all three broadcasters: Uhm Tae-woong
(Equator Man)
Newcomer Award, Actor: Lee Hee-joon (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly),
Lee Jong-seok (School 2013)
Newcomer Award, Actress: Oh Yeon-seo (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly),
Jin Sae-yeon (Gaksital)
Oh what a surprise! Newcomers aren't exactly newbies.. Congrats to Uhm Tae Woong for winning a big award. I mean if I was an actor, this award would mean much more. Lee Hee Joon actually won an award for One-Act special drama in 2011, but he is in 3 dramas in 2012.. Wild Romance, YWRIU and Jeon Woo Chi. I do like School 2013 but really? Isn't it too early to tell? Well, at least for me. Congrats anyway MC Lee Jong Seok. Controversy or not, Oh Yeon Seo was great in portraying the worst sister in law in Korea.
Netizens’ Award: Song Joong-ki (Nice Guy), Moon Chae-won (Nice Guy),
Yoona (Love Rain)
Popularity Award: Joo-won(Gaksital), Bae Suzy (Big)
No surprise here. Yawn. It's popularity award, my least favorite catergory.
One-Act Special, Actor: Yeon Woo-jin (Ordinary Love),
Sung Joon (Swamp Ecology Report)
One-Act Special, Actress: Yoo Da-in (Ordinary Love),
Park Shin-hye (Don’t Worry, I’m a Ghost)
Youth Actor: Noh Young-hak (King’s Dream),
Nam Ji-hyun (Girl Detective Park Hae-sol)
I only watch one drama special in 2012 which is SOS (Save Our School), I was rooting for Seo Shin Ae to pick up the Youth Award! Her portayal of a bully was so spot on. Too bad she didn't won but damn, she should! A little tidbit from the awards, the child actor who acted in Nice Guy were talking about Song Joong Ki, so the child actress ask Song Joong Ki if they could work together in the future. Song Joong Ki gave the "OK" sign! It was so cute! (ahem, note that I'm not fluent in Korean)
Best Couple: Song Joong-ki & Moon Chae-won (Nice Guy),
Lee Sang-yoon & Lee Bo-young (My Daughter Seo-young),
Lee Hee-jun & Jo Yoon-hee (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly),
Yoo Joon-sang & Kim Nam-joo (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly),
My prediction was almost right! I actually watch unsubbed last week episode of My Daughter Seo Young and if I'm not mistaken, Lee Bo Young and Lee Sang Yoon couple is in the process of divorce! They also mention it in the award. What a weird couple to win best couple award..anyway I am super glad my favorite couple of the year won! Lee Hee Joon and Jo Yoon Hee couple forever! They did a cute duet together right after
Writer Award: Park Ji-eun (You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly)
Yeah! Totally deserved it! If I'm not mistaken, I once watch it on Entertainment Weekly that the writer is actually a variety writer or was it the director? I'm not sure but in her speech, she did thank PD Seo Soo Min of Gag Concert. This drama has a lot of great cameos from Gag concert.

Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013
Last post of the year! Wow, this feels weird. Personally, this year I had suffered a lot but luckily Kpop has been really good. It's a year where I rediscover my love for Kpop, so many rookies that I love, and I will continue supporting Kpop next year as well.
My favorite Kpop moment is discovering Phantom, there is not enough words to express how much I love this group. I love every single thing they do, and I am excited for their new release! In my head, all I think is Phantom!
My regretful moment is definitely not being able to meet Jay Park who had a showcase in my city!!! OH GOSH WHY??!! I know I just couldn't go because my family had a Mother's Day dinner. Family comes first.
In 2013.. Well there is Golden Disk Award held in Malaysia that I cannot go at all because damnit, I am broke. The concert tickets is what I like to call "cekik darah", umm what is it in English.. It is loosely translated as extreme burden, direct translation "chock blood" haha. Even if I live in KL, I don't think I could afford. Sigh.
Good news, I might go to Korea next year! Not so good news, family follow..haha well, I just have a different travel ideas in Korea. I'd probably just visit music stores, KBS,MBC,SBS, SM and YG Buildings..you know, the places where I can spot celebrity..I'd be happy to meet Kim Ki Yeol..(get it? Gag concert)
This site might go through changes, but not sure when. I just hope I will be more motivated to write more. If my words written had offended you this past year, I am sorry. Thanks for reading my not so good blog and I hope it inspires you somehow.
Happy New Year 2013!

My KBS Best Couple award prediction
KBS awards are my favorite because I can watch them live! KBS Drama Awards is usually during New Year Eve, but the list of best couple nominees are out and here's my prediction!
Best Couple awards is usually multiple winners, so I'll do just that,
1. Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung for ‘Big‘
Love Gong Yoo, Love Lee Min Jung...BIG HATE to the drama. They do have chemistry but naaah. I don't think it's worthy of a win.
2. Baek Sung Hyun and Suzy for ‘Big’
Puppy love is endearing, but not cute when it's one sided most of the time. I don't ship this couple at all. I think they're only listed because someone wants Suzy to win.
3. Kim Kang Woo and Jo Yeo Jung for ‘Haeundae Lovers‘
I gave up the drama half way because I wasn't laughing at the jokes. I love both actors but together, didn't seems cute enough for me.
4. Shin Hyun Joon and Kim Jung Eun for ‘Oohlala Couple‘
NO. I wanted Kim Jung Eun with Han Jae Suk..they had more chemistry!
5. Um Tae Woong and Lee Bo Young for ‘The Equator Man‘
I didn't watched this. Lee Bo Young is nominate twice! I guess at least one she would win? LOL
6. Joo Won and Jin Se Yeon for ‘Bridal Mask’
Another drama I didn't watch..
7. Joo Won and Park Ki Woong for ‘Bridal Mask’
Although I didn't watch, I am guessing this will win for sure. Ironically they're actually enemies on the drama..but I think fans will vote for this because they're cute together off camera!
8. Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won for ‘Nice Guy‘
It's Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won, what's not to love? A definite win!
9. Cha Tae Hyun and UEE for ‘Jeon Woo Chi‘
Hard to tell, I am still on the early episode. I don't think it will win.
10. Yoo Jun Sang and Kim Nam Joo for ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly‘
With Jun Sang named as Nation Son In Law, Nam Joo too as Nation Daughter in Law.. Fans of the mega hit drama will vote this couple for sure! Will definitely win!
11. Kim Sang Ho and Shim Yi Young for ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly’
I was surprise they are nominated! I would love them to win, because I love their stories but hard to tell. Also surprise MinHyuk and Oh Yeon Seo wasn't nominated. They kiss a lot!
12. Lee Hee Jun and Jo Yun Hee for ‘You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly’
MY FAVORITE COUPLE OF THE YEAR!!! Their chemistry is no joke, don't care Lee Hee Joon had a girlfriend in real life, I just love this two together. If they don't win, I'll slap the KBS judges.
13. Lee Sang Yoon and Lee Bo Young for ‘My Daughter Seoyoung‘
Lee Sang Yoon seems like he loved Lee Bo Young more... I love seeing their scene, because Lee Sang Yoon is such a good husband but I feel pity for him sometimes. Yoon Jung Sang of YWRIU is also too good to be true husband but at least he seems realistic. Lee Sang Yoon listen to every single thing of his wife says.
14. Oh Chang Suk and Hwang Sun Hee for ‘Love, Love'
didn't watch. sorry!
Best Couple awards is usually multiple winners, so I'll do just that,

I'm loving Phantom Sanchez & G.na Beautiful Day
I love a song that have a good intro. My favorite has always been piano instrumental, and the other one is with chorus. I am so happy they start with chorus because Sanchez vocals are so beautiful.
When the "woo woo" part enter, for a moment I cringe. Until I realize, this isn't unnecessary sound, it's actually there to mimick the sound of crying! Clever idea. I think the part really sets the right tone of the song.
I love that this is not a featuring, but a real duet. I think the parts are perfect for both of them. Their voice compliment each other, no one tried to outdo the other. Both of them had this sad quality voice that goes well togerher.
The first verse was great, the bridge was better, and the chorus is addicting! I love the lyrics, it's like they're having a conversation but it's not too literal. The songs reflect on despite the day being beautiful, they still feel sadness inside. Go look up for translation, I'm no poet. Lol
At first, I didn't know that it was Sanchez who did the rap part.. Because right after the rap part, it was Sanchez part again! I listen the second time, I was like "what?? How?" I want a live performance! I want to hear if Sanchez can transtition from rap to singing. Well, Hanhae can..maybe Sanchez could.
I think I love Sanchez voice a little too much, I was kind of not loving G.na part. Not that she wasn't good, rather I just want to hear more of Sanchez. I think she did justice on the song. I like her doing this kind of songs, more mellow yet still have good rhythm. I hate Cube focusing too much on sexy concept, 2Hot was so urgghhhh disappointing.
This song is on Dokkun Project part2 album. I think I might review it later, because Kim Do Hoon past project has been good, so I think it would be a great album to review. Phantom is part of Brand New Music but they debuted under Kim Do Hoon's WA Entertainment.
Do check out the MV! It could have been better but I like it.

Random thoughts on Kpop culture
Unless I am sure the person is likes Kpop, I rarely talk about Kpop stuff in public. I'm not on Facebook and I always use my @HallyuSurfer on twitter so I have no idea about what the public opinions on Kpop. I read here and there about people opinions on Kpop but I usually forget the bad ones because I am a Kpop fan, I'm used to trolls on allkpop.com
With Gangnam Style popularity, whether I like it or not... I could see more public opinions on Kpop culture. I find more reasons why I didn't want Kpop to be popular. I love Kpop in Korea, not outside Korea. I don't want Kpop to change because of wider audience. I'd like to say I don't care people talking crap about Kpop but no, it's heartbreaking.
Kpop is not a specific genre, it's constantly changing according to trends. Ironically I hate all the trends. Auto tunes, hook and "woo woo" are the fews I hate. Oh, if you're wondering what's "woo woo", this year there's so many song with that sound. I hate that sound, examples include Sistar Loving U and Alone, Teen Top To You, ChAOs Kiss Kiss and many more. Listen to this examples, and you'll get what I mean. Let's get back on track, Kpop has something for everyone, it's something you need to look further than what's on charts.
I don't necessary love every single song on Top20. My kind of Kpop is varied, I typically love cutesy concept for guys because only in Kpop where guys can pull cutesy. I don't have to say it, however I know there's some ignorant need me telling them, Korean are touchy but it doesn't equal homosexual. As for girls, I love confident concept like Rainbow's To Me, Ailee's I'll show you and most 2NE1 songs. I'm into the hip hop/RnB scene lately, I love Phantom, One Way and Untouchable stuffs. It's perhaps more relateable than other genre.
I wrote this post for those who have no idea what Kpop is and talk bad about it. Before saying those harsh words, do some research. Don't spread the hate for no reason. I'll show you how.
"Justin Bieber is overrated. His dance is stiff and his vocal is not very impressive to reach that popularity."
What... It's only example. Kpop is flawless to me. #blindedbylove. Sorry JB fans, I don't hate Justin, just feel he should work harder on his skills.
I don't ask haters to be a Kpop fan, I just want everyone to respect our fandom.

Hallyusurfer Totally Random Awards!
This was suppose to be about 2012 rookies but I can't find rhe infos I need to write properly so instead MY VERY OWN AWARD! That is totally judge by me. In case you're lazy to read, Winners are in BOLD
Most Shocking News Award
Haha weds Byul
Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung confirmed Dating
Cool's Yuri Death (False news)
IU Eunhyuk Scandal
Hwayoung T-ara Scandal
Open world Entertainment Scandal
There's too many shocking news this year.. Not only it's hard to choose a winner but list the nominees. I think Cool's Yuri death news was the most shocking one...and I'm so thankful it's a false news. I am still waiting for my apple, allkpop! You totally ruined my morning with that news! Oh, apple because in Korean, it also mean "apology". I would like to include my congrats to Haha and Byul, ahaha you're the most welcome surprise of them all!
Best Drama
Unexpected you who rolled in
The Chaser
Nice Guy
Ghost
Rooftop Prince
Apparently I don't watch much drama this year. I'll just say my favorite is The Chaser and Unexpected You Who rolled in. I have blog about these before so NEXT!
My favorite Song of the year
You Deserve Better - Verbal Jint
What is Love - EXO
Beautiful Night - Beast
Only One - BoA
B.A.P. - Stop It
Crazy - Teen Top
Blue - Big Bang
That xx - G Dragon
Burning - Phantom
Good Morning - Verbal Jint
My most played song of the year is actually Phantom's Hole In Your Face which is last's year released. The second one would be either Verbal Jint's You Deserve Better or EXO K What is Love. I can't choose because I love both of this song so dearly. Congrats to BoA for being the only female on the list. Ahaha I love male voice better.
Best Rookie
B.A.P.
EXO
Ailee
This is not nominees, all of those listed are winner. I think it's unfair for me to have this award because I didn't really know every single rookie but I have to say this year has been an awesome year for rookies and comebacks. These 3 are chosen because these are the rookies that I know well.
Best Gag corner on Gag Concert
Discovery of Life
Brave Rascal
Madam Jeong
4 Things
My favorite comedian, hands down.. Jeong Tae Ho! I can't believe he won rookie award last year because he is too good to be a rookie, all of his skits are my must watch! I like watching him on variety shows too! Win Win, let him be the guest! I know hip hop artiste may not like Brave Rascal, but they are better than some idols who can't rap for their life. I would buy their album if I could ahaha. Brave Rascal may retire in music, but don't retire in gag concert yet!!
Best choreography
DBSK - Catch Me
SHINee - Sherlock
EXO - MAMA
Big Bang - Fantastic Baby
Psy - Gangnam Style
Secret - Poison
B.A.P. - Warrior
BoA - Only One
Gain - Bloom
She'z - UU
The list is not much of a surprise until the last one, She'z UU. The reason why I choose the choreography because it goes well with the song and it's simply adorable. It's a rare thing for me to see girl group nailed the cute choreography without me cringing. The last one was SNSD Gee on 2009. The best for me has to be DBSK Catch Me. MAMA didn't bothered to nominated them..proved how stupid the award is. Horse dance is good but there's so much exciting moves in Catch Me, that it is impossible to look away from your screen.
Memorable moment on TV
Uhm Tae Woong announce marriage plans
Park Ji Sung appearance on Running Man
Beasts' Fathers appeared on Win Win
"Goodbye Lee Teuk" episode Strong Heart
Park Ji Min wins Kpop Star
Immortal Song 2 King of Kings episode
You may wondered where is MBC, Mnet or other cable shows? I only watch KBS and SBS programs currently because it's on my TV..I don't have the time or data for other shows. My list is funny, Strong Heart and Win Win are rivals on Tuesday, 1N2D vs Running Man on Sunday..But if I had to choose, I'd watch KBS. I told you I love 1N2D! So personally I'd say Uhm Tae Woong FTW! He fooled us all, playing the lonely man in his forties.. Your acting skills are great Uhm PD! I am over the moon about his announcement, haha though I was worried for JungHwa eonnie too.

1. Phantom
I'm so sorry my fellow E.L.F.s, eversince KiBumie stop promoting as Super Junior and especially when HanGeng fly out to China, I don't think I can love them much as I used to. I will always be thankful to Super Junior for making a huge Kpop fan. Untouchable may be in military but I love this duo, it doesn't matter. I miss my Untouchable duo, stay safe! I got to talk about the numero uno, Phantom! Completely fall in love with this group.. I still can't decide if I love Sanchez or HanHae more..heck I love Kiggen too! Known as multiple hybrid group, all members write and produce their own songs. Leader Kiggen also produced Verbal Jint's You deserve better which is one of my favorite singles of the year! I never understand Randy's (AI judge) catchphrase, "You could sing the phonebook" until I heard Sanchez voice. In my book, he is the ultimate flawless vocalist. I have absolutely nothing to complain. Lastly and definitely not the least, Hanhae has incredible talent. I have heard bunch of his mixtape, and that boy is deep or I'm probably too easy to please. He is equally good in rap and vocal, and his transtition from each lines is so awesome, I don't think there's anyone can do what he did. Right now, just 2 artiste from Brand New Music, pretty sure next year list will have more!

Most Shocking News Award
Haha weds Byul
Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung confirmed Dating
Cool's Yuri Death (False news)
IU Eunhyuk Scandal
Hwayoung T-ara Scandal
Open world Entertainment Scandal
There's too many shocking news this year.. Not only it's hard to choose a winner but list the nominees. I think Cool's Yuri death news was the most shocking one...and I'm so thankful it's a false news. I am still waiting for my apple, allkpop! You totally ruined my morning with that news! Oh, apple because in Korean, it also mean "apology". I would like to include my congrats to Haha and Byul, ahaha you're the most welcome surprise of them all!
Best Drama
Unexpected you who rolled in
The Chaser
Nice Guy
Ghost
Rooftop Prince
Apparently I don't watch much drama this year. I'll just say my favorite is The Chaser and Unexpected You Who rolled in. I have blog about these before so NEXT!
My favorite Song of the year
You Deserve Better - Verbal Jint
What is Love - EXO
Beautiful Night - Beast
Only One - BoA
B.A.P. - Stop It
Crazy - Teen Top
Blue - Big Bang
That xx - G Dragon
Burning - Phantom
Good Morning - Verbal Jint
My most played song of the year is actually Phantom's Hole In Your Face which is last's year released. The second one would be either Verbal Jint's You Deserve Better or EXO K What is Love. I can't choose because I love both of this song so dearly. Congrats to BoA for being the only female on the list. Ahaha I love male voice better.
Best Rookie
B.A.P.
EXO
Ailee
This is not nominees, all of those listed are winner. I think it's unfair for me to have this award because I didn't really know every single rookie but I have to say this year has been an awesome year for rookies and comebacks. These 3 are chosen because these are the rookies that I know well.
Best Gag corner on Gag Concert
Discovery of Life
Brave Rascal
Madam Jeong
4 Things
My favorite comedian, hands down.. Jeong Tae Ho! I can't believe he won rookie award last year because he is too good to be a rookie, all of his skits are my must watch! I like watching him on variety shows too! Win Win, let him be the guest! I know hip hop artiste may not like Brave Rascal, but they are better than some idols who can't rap for their life. I would buy their album if I could ahaha. Brave Rascal may retire in music, but don't retire in gag concert yet!!
Best choreography
DBSK - Catch Me
SHINee - Sherlock
EXO - MAMA
Big Bang - Fantastic Baby
Psy - Gangnam Style
Secret - Poison
B.A.P. - Warrior
BoA - Only One
Gain - Bloom
She'z - UU
The list is not much of a surprise until the last one, She'z UU. The reason why I choose the choreography because it goes well with the song and it's simply adorable. It's a rare thing for me to see girl group nailed the cute choreography without me cringing. The last one was SNSD Gee on 2009. The best for me has to be DBSK Catch Me. MAMA didn't bothered to nominated them..proved how stupid the award is. Horse dance is good but there's so much exciting moves in Catch Me, that it is impossible to look away from your screen.
Memorable moment on TV
Uhm Tae Woong announce marriage plans
Park Ji Sung appearance on Running Man
Beasts' Fathers appeared on Win Win
"Goodbye Lee Teuk" episode Strong Heart
Park Ji Min wins Kpop Star
Immortal Song 2 King of Kings episode

Brand New Music Love
One word to describe Brand New Music Artiste? AWESOME.
If everything in Kpop fails, I would have no worries because I can switch to K-Hip Hop. Ahaha except I have no swag....yet. I'll work on it, but hey I enjoy the music so that's cool enough...no? i love family kind of collaboration. I'm excited that Brand New Music actually release two!
First up, we got Brand New Anthem. That's one badass anthem right there. I like CEO Rhymer is actively participate the song. The opening of the song is epic, very chaotic and attention grabbing sound. I think this is only teaser, because it's too short! I can't wait for new stuff! The single is participated by Rhymer, P Type, Swings, Bizniz, HuhInchang of BNR and Kanto of Troy.
Then we have Happy Brand New Year! I love this song so much, only 1 listen and I have fallen in love. Mostly because of Sanchez and As one. They can sing pretty much anything and I would love it. Gaah, BumKey voice is so good too, how do you recruit so many talent Rhymer? I used to think that rapper sound similar but this song proved me so damn wrong. Rappers Verbal Jint, Swings, Sijin and Phantom all of them sound distinctly different. I love they got Miss $ do to some rap parts too!
How sad it is I can't go to their Brand New Concert. Regardless, I hope to see a lot of fancams or better yet official videos of the concert. I know for sure, it's going to be epic! Oh and if I read correctly (it was in Hangeul) it will be the last time Verbal Jint and Sanchez to perform "You Deserved Better" live. Thanks for making me sad, one of my favorite song of the year will be perform their last. It's the award season, they will be having their very own awards show! i'll be having mine too, haha I need to brainstorm because my awards are lame. For best cameo award, can you believe Max the dog from "You Deserve Better" is nominated? It's a goldie, no doubt I want him to win!
I followed most of BNMusic Artiste on twitter. Of course, most of them are in Korean..but I can read some. Sanchez @NZmightySanchez and Kiggen @HybReFine of Phantom and Verbal Jint. @ freevj do tweet in English sometimes. As one @iloveasone both are fluent in English, so they tend to tweet in both language.
Brand New Music 대박!

My star collection trading
I wish I could but since I live in a Kampung, purchasing through online is not convenient for me. I only can get my Kpop stuff from KL specifically this shop. My brother is currently working in KL so I got to know the shop through him. i am not sure if there's other stores like them but I do know some music store that sells Kpop CDs.. I compared prices, this shop sells slightly cheaper and gurantee from Korea!
For those not living in KL.. You might want to singgah the shop if you're happen to be in KL so here's my direction. i stayed at the hotel for 5 days so I kinda know the place.
The shop is located in Berjaya Times square, 5th Floor West side. If you go to BTS via monorail,(the monorail station is connected to the building with bridge) you're probably at the first floor on the east side. You may use the lift to 5th floor but make sure you read the lift sign as some lift don't stop at 5th floor.
Once you're at 5th floor, remember you're at the east side so just go to west side, which is straight up. The shop is next to the west escalator which is at the furthest end of the mall. It has two shop lots, both are the same owner.
If you coming from the ground floor of the main entrance, if you want to walk more, use the escalator on your right, and then walk straight to find another escalator on the furthest end. Just go through the escalator until you reach 5th floor, at the floor, turn around the escalator and you should able to find the shop nearby. If you malas, then, at the ground floor, just look for the lift on the right side which is nearby sony or a money changer. Use the glass lift, then just move around west side of 5th floor and you'll find the shop. Just remember the shop is next to the escalator.
The shop owner and employee are friendly so just ask them any question. I ask price a lot ahaha. Mau tengok budget mah. They know their stuff so don't worry. You probably won't find non idols stuff though..
You can also ask them to help order, so give them a call say 3 weeks before?
http://mystar.appee.com/template_content_248.php
I wish I had called earlier..haha better luck next time.
Anyway, if you're a new kpop fan, let me tell you first that Kpop CDs are expensive. The ones in speedy are not directly import from Korea unless there's a sticker "IMPORTED" but that's not easy to get. Most of them are either imported from China, which I won't recommed to buy. if you really want to buy, Cube artiste has deals with universal, so that's considered official. Read the labels, if you're not sure.. Check online before purchasing.
There's a shop in City Mall Sabah that also sell some Kpop CD but I'm not sure if it's still around. Sometimes it's genuine but they also have stuff imported from China. Again my advice, check online before purchasing. If you're going to spend money, let it be legit from Korea or at least approved original.
If you're confuse, you can always tweet me @HallyuSurfer.

I'm loving Ailee I'll show you
It's a fact I don't really care for solo singers because I already love too many idols to try keep up with solo singers too. However my girl, Ailee is different. I somewhat know her early on because she's famous for being Wheesung's protege. Early this year she starred in Dream High 2 (it's boring..don't watch) and it's a shame they didn't really give her voice much spotlight in the drama.
Right after that she debuted with the single "Heaven". It didn't exactly wowed me because the song is something I usually pass on. It's not bad just personal preference. Then she appeared on Patti Kim special on Immortal Song 2. She instantly made me a fan. She's a rookie but her stage persona feels like a veteran. Every time she appear on the show, I know she will give a great performance.
My expectation shoot up really high for this single and she delivered! To be frank, this kind of music is something I have to listen properly before liking it. However the lyrics was an instant hit for me as I love the strong message it brings. It is strong yet classy, you want to deliver a message without being on anyone's face and this is how you do it miss A. The balance of strong message while keeping intact of feminine sides is charming.
This song remind me of the great "I will survive" by Gloria Gaynor. It's similar in many ways but in a good way of course. There are a lot of similar songs that have this theme but none really feel as classy as this one.
The ultimate revenge is to prove yourself better than what those jerks thought of you. Not only you feel better about yourself, you also made that jerk realize that it's their loss.
The song started slow and it has the eerie feeling.. Almost like a ghost who's back for a revenge. Come in chorus, it felt like a party or a celebration is going on. Perhaps a celebration of getting rid of that jerk in your life?
Although the song is not my kind of song, I really do love the attitude and the lyrics of the song.

I'm hating Yoseob Caffeine
Yes, my fellow b2uties, you have my permission to virtually kill me now.
Unlike SungKyu, I know exactly what I want from Yoseob and this wasn't it. When I first got to know that Yoseob will debut solo, I was excited. I am curious of how the composer going to play with Yoseob voice because I think Yoseob voice is versatile and suits to be experimental. When I found out JunHyung was the composer, my heart literally sank. I love you JunHyung but I kinda figure you won't be experimental with him.
Then I got to know the title of the song is "Caffeine". Oh gosh.. Hate me all you want but I am reminded of 10cm Americano and I half expect it will have similar message. Not that I already read the lyrics, it's just by the title you can pretty much guess the meaning of the song. I am not expecting to be surprise. It's just ..... You know I'm still bitter about the "like a g6" lyrics in Thanks To.. I don't like this kind of referrence thingy. It's not creative.
The song was predictable.. Come on guys, this is already a risky move in Kpop so why play it safe? Junhyung, you're a rapper.. please do proper featuring! The part "You're bad to me, so bad to me" should be give to other background vocalist. I really don't have to say this but how can you f**k up the intro? I don't feel Yoseob sing-talk goes well with the instrumental at all.
I am throughly disappointed. You can do anything with Yoseob vocals and this song does not do justice. It felt like this song should be just in the album becsuse it don't feel like a main song. Maybe to make this song better, we need different voice. I only listen 3 times, I'm already bored of it.
Junhyung, please learn how to use hook from your good buddy Shinsadong Tiger. The hook of the song has to have impact but this is just meehh. I go back listening to Bang Yong Guk's I remember featuring Yoseob. That was an awesome way to showcase Yoseob's vocal!

I'm loving Kim Sungkyu's 60 sec
Someone must have take a peek on my dream because both of my bias in Infinite and Beast debut as solo!
I feel like 2012 is the year to try new things. I appreciate it, thanks for giving me something new! I'm starting with SungKyu because he released first and older. Technically Yoseob is sunbae (Senior) and kind of dongap(he was born early 90's considered same age in Korea)..but well, my blog my rules..
Sungkyu did a stint on KBS Immortal Songs 2 but I wasn't really sure what to expect from him because he has this unique voice. To be honest, he debut solo before Woohyun was a big surprise to me because I have heard rumors of WooHyun solo debut before but not him.
Woohyun is the main vocal of the group definitely has better technique but I do prefer SungKyu's unique voice. His voice is distinct and stood out in a good way. I find the tone of his voice very charming to the ears.
Not knowing what to expect, I just click play on the video with an open mind. Yeah I love it! He suita very well with pop rock song, if I'm not mistaken he was in a band before. The song is easy listening and combine with the pretty video, it was just perfect for the season.
When the song first started, it sound like a typical ballad song. I love the momentum of each beat when it transtition to a rock feel, and when the chorus kicks in.. That's the higlight!
I haven't check the lyrics but the song felt like it was a story telling kind of lyrics. I think it's sort of a mellow feeling to the lyrics, if it is, that would be great because in this song, it felt like SungKyu was crying out the lyrics. The voice in the song has this sorrow feeling.
It's a good song to listen when you feel a little heartbroken or maybe if it's drizzling outside. Have a cup of warm drink too!
