FINALLY

I can't believe it took me this long to write this!

FINALLY after like 10 years of obsessing over Korea, I went to Seoul in February!

for really short 3 days!

I don't want to dwell on why I decided such a short trip because the main point is that I went! I am just happy for the fact I was there.

Obviously, I didn't get to do all the things I wanted but it felt cool to see familiar stuff on screen laid out in real life. I really do a lot of research on Korea.

Before the trip.. I was a bit wary.. Would it make me hate Korea? I scared because I know my expectations are high. Paris Syndrome (#prayforparis) coined by the Japanese, It's like cultural shock where you have all these image of a place but when you go to the place, the expectation is not fulfilled.

Turns out... I feel at home. I find myself wanting to move there. I love Malaysia but I do want to move to Seoul...some day.

I'm not going to talk about the trip..I'm not a good traveller. I basically go with the flow because my real life is very mundane. I thought being unprepared would make it more fun. Turns out I'm quite good at it. We only got lost finding the hotel! HAHA.

When will I go there again? I have no idea. I'm heading to Taipei next. Hopefully it will be good.

She was pretty

Starring : Hwang Jung Eum, Park Seo Jun, Go Jun Hee and Choi Si Won

It started out with me saying.."Let's check out one episode"

and then it was 2.30AM. BAMM! Did I mention I had to get up at 5AM?

Lesson learned, Don't start a complete drama. The risk of marathon is high!

While I love everything Korean, I don't really keep up with dramas because it takes a lot of my time. I'm already busy with Kpop and variety shows are easy to not finish watching. Dramas are like books to me, if I really like it... it's hard for me to move on!

I decided to watch it because I stumbled on random clips and it look quite interesting.

I have no idea what to expect, but I kinda think that I don't really have to watch this because I already know Hwang Jung Eum's pretty face. Normally transformation are exciting because I don't already know their pretty face but I watched HJE's dramas before so I'm used to her pretty face.

I'm glad this drama isn't about that. It's focuses more on first love or childhood love story which is another fave plot of mine.

Being overweight, I can relate Kim Hye Jin's character.. She keeps on selling herself short and when people tell her that she's pretty, she would denied it. I'm like "girl.. you are pretty!" and then realize I'm just like her. I like how she is still confident and doesn't seem like she is very conscious of her look. I've seen "ugly" characters on other dramas and I hated that they are so critical and have low self esteem. Kim Hye Jin acknowledge that she's not pretty but it doesn't dampen her spirit too much.

The drama is like a dream of mine. I'm very introvert but I wish I had someone like HaRi. Their friendship is so beautiful, I'm sad it's only fiction. I actually have similar friendship. I was on the lower end of the rank...but my friend was one of the top 3 in class. It was a weird combo that work.

Just like how Kim Hye Jin saying no to writing a 2 page article when offered by Reporter Cha, I'm reminded the days when I was placed in the top class. I keep on thinking that I didn't deserved to be in the class..to the point I ranked last. It's not that I'm not smart, I believe that I wasn't smart.

Guys like Seong Jun and Shin Hyeok are very fictional. I don't think they exist. Life would be so much fun with Shin Hyeok. I think the Shin Hyeok is a better match than Seong Jun. Their storyline is more realistic than Seong Jun. I really do root for this kind of relationship but I find it odd that their memories are sooo good. I don't even remember my primary school days and I'm in my 20's! I think their character is suppose to be in their 30's? And the fact they still retained the old habits is kinda weird. Surely something has changed beside just looks.....

Only in Kdrama land.

and I totally knew Kim Poong Ho was the nephew! HAH! I guess it because he doesn't look like he belong in fashion and out of place. Kim Shin Hyeok is too easy.. and definitely not JoonWoo.

발긱하게고고 (Sassy Go Go) Cheer Up

Starring A Pink Jung Eun Ji, VIXX N, Lee Won Geun, Chae Soo Bin and Jisoo

I can safely say that this has got to be my favorite drama of the year!

It has all the elements of Kdrama that I love, school theme, cheesy puppy love, cute friendship and light hearted. Heavy drama is usually a miss for me, I don't want to stress myself out from watching a drama, I want something that literally cheer me up like Cheer Up!

The drama is only at 12 episode which is quite unusual but I do like short drama, less commitments haha. However it does leave me wanting for more! I prayed that it would get high ratings for an extension but unfortunately it suffers very low ratings.

I love every single actors. Even N! He did received a bit of criticism here and there but I kinda get his character. Perhaps a more season actor would pull off the character better but I think it's better that way because the focus is not on N's character. I kinda have his fear, hahaha I hate skinships too.

The main reason why I love this drama is because of Lee Won Geun's smile. Damn that kid is precious. Every time he smile, grin or smirk.. my heart wants to skip a beat. He is very close to my ideal type but he is waaay too perfect. What is his flaws? Maybe I'm blind when it comes to that department. Tall and handsome, genius and loveable? Geez.

Another thing worth mentioning is the teachers. I love the dynamic between the adult character. It has presence yet it doesn't take the center stage. Teacher Yang is everybody's favorite teacher, I wish I had him in my school years. Coach Nam is gorgeous, for the life of me.. I don't get why the drama doesn't think she's pretty. Damn drama. I love her spunky character and she is the most sassy of them all. As a villain, Principal is doing a great job. I find the character very well balanced of seriousness and comedy. I hate her to bits but I do think her character is very necessary. Teacher Im is awesome too. I want to hate him but I do know where is he coming from. Despite having a full time contract he still have to brown nose his way to maintain his job. I'm quite a goody two shoes so I can relate to his character.

I would definitely recommend this drama to any School drama fans. It's very cute drama. I am going to post another post when I finish marathoning to complied my top favorite scenes!

I'm fine, Thank You

I'm going to be honest and say that I am not too familiar with Ladies Code but it doesn't change the fact I am as heartbroken like any Ladies Code fan.

I always thought Ladies Code had potential ever since I saw SoJung on Immortal Song 2. I know with the right song, they definitely capable of getting no.1 spot.

Car accident happen all too often on our idols and this is 1st time it causes 2 lives. I was truly devastated the morning Eunbi pass away and knowing the passing of Rise on Sunday hit me hard. It just so unreal. They were currently promoting and it felt like I could still see them perform..looking reruns made it worse for me.. they looked so bright and happy.

RiSe, EunBi... we all have love you. We will continue our thoughts and prayers. For Ashley, Zuny and SoJung.. we are with you all and hope you will get back on your feets for RiSe and EunBi. Let Ladies Code name shine.

Song IL Kook and his triplets

I always fantasize about having triplets because i love number 3 so much. I always thought it would be cool to have another family to share that special bond. However watching the new family on Superman Return made me think otherwise.

Daehan, Minguk and Manse are the adorable triplets of Song IL Kook. Thankfully they are fraternal because identical is difficult to differentiate on screen. I still can't differentiate Shoo's twin. A little trivia on the triplets' name, it means Long Live Korea in Korean. So it's easy to know which is the eldest to youngest.

I remembered reading the news of Song IL Kook having triplets and I also remembered him on Qualification of Men trialthon special but I never thought he would do this show because I thought he is a private person. Knowing his wife is a judge surprised me more. Nevertheless I am glad he did this show. Have yet to see the wife on screen but I don't mind if she doesn't because more screen time for the triplets!

Looking after three kids is no easy fit and I really want to give IL Kook a hug after the show. Lol. He discipline his kids well and overall the kids are well mannered. He gives the best reactions all the time.

UPDATE : I noticed that this post still get views after a year I posted and I thought I should update by saying that the triplets are leaving the show. They have their last recording last week and that probably means there won't be any new episode next year. It's been a good ride, I'll miss the kids but it is time for them to be normal yet again. I hope Song Il Kook will continue acting and let's pray the triplets will grow up to be kind and healthy adults.

I'm hating Sistar Touch My Body

I have no idea how is this song NOT being banned. It is clearly said "Touch my body" and that is all good clean fun? Um nope, I won't let anyone who isn't my husband to feel free to touch my body.

I think what annoys me about the song is the annoying trumpet sound and it repeats over and over. Perhaps if the song had less of that, I would probably enjoyed the song better. I think it's a shame that they don't utilize SoYou and HyoLyn voices. Arghh.

Bora, as much as I love her personality.. Loved her in Invisible Youth.. She cannot sing or rap just yet. There's some hope and I really wish her to practice more. Dasom voice color has been pretty bland.. I don't know if she is overshadowed but I think like Bora, she needs more practice and find her own voice.

Sistar is all about summer song and that's good but sometimes these fast paced song does nothing good for their talent.

I'm loving JYJ Back Seat

This song made me feel older,,,I still remember the Balloon days where they would be wearing those fluffy animal costumes. What a 180 degree difference to this downright sexy concept.

Yoochun, as you might know is my ultimate bias and yes, I am shamelessly loving his narration! It's just perfectly cheesy. Haha i don't really know his current state of English but his pronounciation seems good. The song matched JaeJoong so much, he looks amazing in the MV and his voice is just as good as I remembered. As for Junsu, there is no argument about his vocal being the best..thought it is a bit awkward for me to see him sexy. He is hot but his aegyo (cute) image is still strong in my mind.. That this song feels wrong. Lol

This song was banned by KBS, and I thought it's fitting because when it comes to a song titled Back Seat with a sexy rhythm,.you know where is this going right? That's right, back seat. LOL. However I am just as sad that we may never see this on public broadcast...oh it's been too long! Let them perform and show them rookies how it is done!

More over it is DBSK 10 years anniversary. Let's forget the drama, and I would so be happy to see 5 of them on 1 stage.

Rated 19 i'm loving San.E Body Language featuring Bumkey

Is it getting hotter here or what? Nevermind if you're not living in a 4 seasons country because the songs in KPop will remind you what the weather is like in Korea. With summer in place it seems like the song getting hotter and I'm actually liking Body Language more than I should.

It's a fun song to listen to, San.E is a great rapper and Bumkey's vocal is self explanatory awesome. Make no mistake that this song is about making love and it is straight forward like that.

While i love the song, this isn't a song I would listen publicly. Haha. I do think the lyrics and rhythm serves its purpose but it does make me blush. Lol Despite the theme of the song, it is a good track that can make you sing or dance along to.

I'm hating Red Velvet Happiness

Oh my goodness. It always have been difficult for me to write "I'm hating" post because here in my blog I would like to be all about LOVE but this post has to be written.

I have been a fan of SM Town since the beginning of my Kpop fandom in 2006. I loved so many debuts from SM and I learn names so fast. SM always have that power on me. I always seem to memorize members name faster compare to other group of other company.

If I could.. I just want to forget about Red Velvet. Like first of all.. Food names should be reserved to pets. No groups should have food as their names. (Yes, I am looking at ya H.A.M. and B.A.P.)

I don't even know what is the concept for Red Velvet.. Cheerleader or just plain bizarre mess. Whatever it is, it's not working for me. The song is messy and not one bit I can love about it.

This doesn't feel like SM produced. In fact I refuse to acknowledge them. For a small group, it has to have quality. While SM is known to focus more on face/image.. as a fan, I know better than SM has more talents than other company. Red Velvet has neither face or talent in Happiness.

The hair is blaah. What happen to them? I always thought SM artiste has the best hair. The song does nothing for their talents. This song is like created to cover your vocal flaws..in the most terrible way. Choreography easily forgetable, which makes me even madder.

Scratch this whole thing and start rethink about how to market them. I beg you dear SM producers. This is not how we do idols. I'm so sad and mad.. I don't even feel bad for hating this whole Red Velvet.

I'm loving Nu'est Goodbye Bye

NU'EST is one group I want to achieve success because they do have good chemistry with each other and given good songs, they should already achieve No.1.

Goodbye bye ( Honestly, the title should be Goodbye Baby..) is a good kpop track so I'm puzzled why the lack of attention. Perhaps Summer season, this song is better suited for Autumn/winter.

In midst of lot's of generic kpop songs, this song sounds different with a slight ballad feel to it. I really the chorus, it keeps on repeating in my head. I didn't mind the heavy synth sound either. It sound strangely good..coming from someone who hates it.

I think Nu'est should sing more mellow songs because their vocals shine best in sad songs.

G.O.D. is back!

The return of g.o.d. is highly anticipate as they are one of the 1st generation idols that made kpop what it is today. You can't have Kpop without idols.

I'm so happy to see Son Ho Young got back on his feet after his tragedy. Smiling Angel voice is my favorite and he sound great as usual. He looks better than ever.

While I have watched old videos, seeing Joon and Yoon Kye Sang was a lil weird. The other 3 members are active in music and varieties so I do see them often. I haven't seen much of Joon and Yoon Kye Sang works.

I wasn't part of 1st generation craze but I can relate to Sky Blue Promise, as I wish to see SuJu like that in the future. The song got me all that feels. I think any Kpop fan can relate to the song. It's funny but touching nevertheless.

Saturday Night was super fun and reminded me of Psy. If you can make fun of yourself, you are cool in my eyes. I love how the go all out and not be ashamed of their hilarious past fashion. I would like them to stick with their day jobs, singer or actors. Lol

In a more serious note, The Story of Our Lives shows that g.o.d. still cares for music with message. One of my favorite track of the album and Megan Lee's part was a nice addition. Now go hug your family after the song. As cheesy as this sound, family do comes first.

As a kpop fan, our goal is have our favorite idols to stay connected. This gives me hope for my current bias.

I'm loving Block B H.E.R.

I'm a fan of Korean Hip Hop but not so much in idol world. It's just feel a lot more different.

Despite Zico being named as one of the top rappers in Korea, I haven't been really loving his songs. I have liked some of it but none stuck in my head. As for H.E.R. I enjoyed this single a lot more. The addicting electric guitar riff and the fast past chorus just stuck like a glue.

I didn't appreciate the "Jesus" in the lyrics as I'm religious. Using God's name in vain is a big NO for me but as I got past it, the song is fun like the members of Block B. With Block B unique voices, it adds more in the fun factor.

The song does fit Block B fun personality however I would like to see a sensitive side of Block B for the next single. I think it would be a dream to have B.A.P. and Block B to interchange music. Bang Yong Guk has that anger sadness in his music and Zico is all crazy fun. I think it would be cool to see Block B showing their soft emotions and for B.A.P. to go all out crazy.

I hope to see Block B grow more popularity after their scandals. It would be ashamed to not have them doing what they do best.

Album Review : Mamamoo Hello

1. Hello

In just 43 seconds, 7 lines, this intro is good enough to capture attention of it's listeners. I particularly don't enjoy the rhythm but it's good introduction to the group styles.

2. Mr. 애매모호 (Mr. Ambiguos)

Their title track, retro seems to be their concept but I don't get Wonder Girls vibe whom are synonymous to retro concept. I start to see the color of Mamamoo voice, it has a lot of characters in it and I thought it reminded me of musical without the over the top flare. The rap part was good but I can't help to laugh because it feels like it was so random. Mamamoo does a lot of harmonization, I think it would be interesting to hear them doing acapella.

3. 히히하해호 with Geeks ( Hihihahaeho)

The intro was so catchy. I know this will be another favorite. Like the playfulness of the title, it makes me feel happy. Geeks part is long.. I guess that's why it's title as "with" not "featuring". My favorite part is the whisper part. I don't understand much of the lyrics but I never really bothered about lyrics.. I mean, I listen to Korean pop without being fluent you think lyrics are a big deal for me? Anyway, I hope it has a clever meaning, though if it's all fluff, it's fine.

4. Baton Touch

Maybe it's in the title but this song felt like a cheerleading song. The rhythm is fast and cheerful and it does make people move along to beat. Mamamoo lyricist seems to like to add their name in songs. I'll forgive because this is their first mini album as I think the intention is to get people to remember the group name. When the song slowed down, I wasn't liking the song anymore.. I think it's best to keep the upbeat because it made song seem lazy, it's like make one paragraph and then the rest is just filler for ending. The aong is under 3minute but it felt longer.

5. 내맘이야 [HwaSa solo] (my heart)

I have yet to familiarize with the members voices so I do enjoy solo singles to give attention to members. The song has a different vibe than the other songs in the song. It's a hiphop track through and through.  It does feel like this song is odd to be in the album but I think we can expect something diverse from them in the future.

6. 행복하지마 with Bumkey (Don't be Happy)

This is my favorite song of the album, and the reason is pretty obvious. I am in love with Bumkey's voice. The video only contain a snippet of this song so this full version is very welcoming to me. Bumkey started of well but I thought the transtition to Mamamoo's part seems odd. It made sense in the video but in the song it just end and started like two songs. I feel that there should be two version.

God Gift 14 days

I think my brother enjoyed this drama more than I did.

First 7 episode was okay. It had all the suspense, I literally had a pillow over my face because it was intense. I thought after that it was just dragging.

I love all the main characters except Saetbyul. Gosh, I don't blame Lee Bo Young wanting to punish the child for running away. That girl is a nightmare.

Ki Dong Chan stole my heart. He is all scruffy and rugged but I could see how beautiful heart he had. Daesang winner, Lee Boyoung was exceptional again in this drama. Another Daesang worthy performance indeed.

I don't mind the lack of romance, The duo had great chemistry anyway. I wish we had a better ending.

Birth Secret

Between being sick and busy.. I really wanted to write more but physically I'm in bad shape. I'm feeling better..and while I am better I'm going to write a lot!

So this is a drama I have finish long time ago. I wasn't expecting much from this drama and probably that help me enjoy the drama better.

I decided to watch it because I am interested with genius photographic memory characters. I thought Gal So Won is such a sweetheart to I continued watching.

Of course, all drama has their loopholes. I don't enjoy the fact the scriptwriter made chaebols as lunatic. It has a good message but I thought that they push it too much.

For a drama with a title "Birth Secret'' I was expecting more realistic twist. I have to put my logic aside and accept the scriptwriter logic.

Yoon Jun Sang had a loveable character but the chemistry with Sung Yuri was not working for me. Spoiler Alert : what are the odds of two suicidal people meet each other before dead?

Depression does mess with your head but it's just feel weird. Kdrama should banned amnesia or any mental disability ... it feels like they don't represent the actual thing.

I enjoy watching the drama but I won't watch it again.

Champagne & Candle What's My Name

As usual Brand New Music is KILLIN IT!

Debuting a brand new duo, Champagne & Candle (CnC) are not just visually great but comes with talent too! Their introduction track has that wow factor and yes, it is so apt as an intro because people are wondering why such names. Damn, they look similar and has baby face. Good.. Cannot choose bias. Haha

I first saw their news on blogs...but since the names were weird, i thought oh boy, why the name? I didn't bother to look into the news because well.. I really don't have enough time to know every single debut you know...but then I got to know today that they are from Brand New Music! OMG. I stan BNM so of course I had to check them out. They look like idols but they sound like top quality underground hip hop duo.

Their raps are smooth and I love their voices. I love the fact they produce their own song. I don't mind singers who don't produce their own song, but for rappers, I like it better when they produce their own song because rappers tend to rap better when it's their own song and rap is all about their expression.

The beat is awesome. It's cool trendy kind of beat but easy on the ears. Along with their voice, insfant gratification. It sounds too good to be true that a rookie is producing this kind of beat. I am looking forward to their debut and can't wait to watch their live performance.

This is Brand New fan, right here! Yo!

LOL.

I'm hating Wheesung Night & Day

There are few highly regard vocalist in Korea that I don't share the same opinion on. I'm just not a big fan of Korean deep voice. Yes, specifically Korean because it seem they share the same technique singing.

That singing method is so prominent in this song, I was annoyed through out the song. I sort of get why he sings it like that but just not my taste. For me, singing should sound comfortable and that kind of singing feels painful to hear.

I expected more from Wheesung as he is a good singer and I did enjoy some of his previous work. This time, maybe it's just not for me.

I'm loving Jay Park Metronome feat. Simon D & Gray

Typically, I like song done simple so initially I wasn't feeling the song as it was filled with a lot of sound effects and heavy bass. I did love the chorus so I had to listen more of it and I grew to love this song!

I love the construction of the song, maybe if I could change it... Simon D rap part was a little too long for me. His rap part is totally necessary though. It adds that extra special meaning to the song.

Jay Park vocal is great as usual bit what surprise me more was Gray. I don't know if he naturally sound like that or it was helped by computer but it was my favourite part of the song. Another favorite part was Jay Park ad-lib towards the end of the song. Those high notes? I can hear it all day, it was that good.

I hope they could maybe released or at least performed a more strip down version of the song. I think it does sound perfect already but it would be interesting to hear it.

Kris leaving EXO?!

First of all, if you have been following this blog and wondering where the heck I was, I decided to take hiatus since K Entertainment was in hiatus and I got no mood to write either.

Anyway back to the topic. I was shocked to read about this incident. I didn't see it coming as I'm just a normal fan of EXO. I thought no way he's doing this while in promotion but everywhere is reporting so this is it.

I don't know if it's because of this incident, I actually thought of it yesterday, EXO aren't really close with each other. I have watched several group videos and I am obsess with it because I love my bromance. EXO does nothing for me. I wanted to watch EXO showtime but one clip and I was bored. I thought, maybe EXO is not made for variety..well except EXO M.. But I guess I'm wrong again.

I somehow enjoyed EXO M more on variety than EXO or EXO K. Maybe I didn't get the right video or didn't search enough. Whatever it was, that was my impression of EXO.

Every article mention about how Kris is the second HanGeng and I was like putting the puzzle together. Kris is the leader of EXO M and third oldest. HanGeng is the leader of SuJu M and third oldest! OMG!

I don't know which side to take but I think Kris choose a bad time to terminate contract. Maybe it could mean he is THAT desperate to get out.  The group is in the middle of promotion and the 1st concert is coming, I just think WHY?! If you decided to be in this industry, don't you ever wish to have a concert? I mean, isn't that every singers dream? A CONCERT?!

Another thing, he maybe called the Second Hangeng, but I am placing my bet that he won't be as successful. I totally cannot see him doing solo.

Swings featuring Jay Park Fallin

I always thought that rap has to be fast paced. Swings rap sounds slower than usual but the impact feels intense that has that scary intimidating vibe. I feel the tempo was intentional, I've check the translation and the meaning was deep. Sometimes when raps goes too fast, it's hard to catch the words. Swing was like threatening you to listen every word properly.

The intro completely grab my attention. The sound of electric guitar isn't common in Kpop so I was pleasantly surprise. Jay's part was my pick for the highlight. I've been a fan of Jay's RnB vocals and it couldn't be more perfect than this. Every single line was perfect. If I had to tweak anything, perhaps the secondary part had better enunciation. I wanted to know what is he singing. It does sound like "Nobody, nobody"

Swing is not my favorite BNM artiste however, this does make me more interested in learning more on his music.

I'm Loving Baechigi 뜨래요

When female idols do retro, the public can't help but to compare with Wonder Girls. After all, Wonder Girls did make it big with retro concepts.

Thanks to my parents, I am very familiar with retro genre. I'm not a big fan but what's not to love good ole retro?

BaeChigi's Ddeuraeyo is a fun retro concept. I think the featured singer, Angli of 3B is amazing. He made the song fun and his voice is addicting to listen. This song needs him, I can't imagine another vocalist to do this song.

I love the music, it has all the essence of retro. If this song was released back in the disco em, it won't feel out of place. The only modern element of the song is the rap parts.

Hip hop is a great genre, it mash well with so many other genre.

I'm Loving Lee Michelle Without You

Although Kpop is known for having western influence, I don't feel Kpop is similar to western at all. I believe that Kpop is a genre that can stand alone.

As I listen to Lee Michelle's Without You, I guess you can't deny this song has that strong RnB influence. The song has a familiar feel that is easy on the ears.

I'm glad kpop has the chance to have Lee Michelle, she's an amazing vocalist that deserve attention despite color.

She may have similar background with Insooni & Yoon Mirae. I hope Lee Michelle can stand proud without their shadows.

I hope to hear more from Lee Michele.

One warm word

I want to say I hated it but in some ways I don't exactly hate it.

I had no expectation towards the drama because it wasn't recap by dramabeans. It's kinda weird but I tend to watch dramas that dramabeans don't recap and skipped the ones they did. That's sort of good since I can watch more..usually after reading recaps, I don't watch it much unless it's good like You Who Came from the stars.

The trailer got me intrigued because Ji Jin Hee is part of the cast, and I was assuming that it might be about rekindle love or something really sweet. Well spoiler alert, you got them at the last episode. I probably stayed for JJH, but I grew to love Han Hye Jin and Lee Sang woo interactions.

Their daughter is so adorable, though some parts are too hurtful to be real. The girl needs some counselling because there are things that kids should never hear.

The drama made me hate  Ji Jin Hee... which is bad. It's an iffy character. He seems like wholesome person but he doesn't have any sense of remorse. The dongsaeng couple are cute but we already know what's coming, so it was a bit regretful.

The drama taught me one thing, don't watch another drama that have affairs.

Album Review: SoReal Story

As I listen to this mini album,I got confuse as what SoReal suppose to be. The album felt experimental because it doesn't feel like an album for a ballad group. Then again, I don't usually listen to albums that much.

l. Missing You feat. Choi Hyun Jun.
Gaps! A full English song and it's acapella?! Okay it is under a minute but I love acapella! The English usage seems easy so none of those Konglish. (Not that it matters.) I wonder why they had to include Choi Hyun Joon, but it does sound good.

2. 심장이 말했다 (Shimjangi malhaettda)

The main title song. Refer previous post

3. 뻔히보여 (bbeonhiboyeo)
This song sound like a typical idol song that probably suits the clubs with it's heavy beats and electronic sound. I really like Jang Moon voice against the electronic sound. While I like him singing ballad, he does sound great in Pop genre. It's weird that the other members sound like generic ballad along with the rhythm.

4.남자답게 (namja dabke)

My favorite track of the album, I'd say they should have gone with this song as their main title. This genre is on trend and it sounds great. It even has a great hook on the chorus. I think this song shows more strength on each members better. I guess it's on the upbeat tempo that requires dance routine.

5.  한마디 (han madi) One Word

This would be another good main title song. This is the textbook definition of Kpop ballad song. The thing about ballads, it's a 50-50 chance. It's either a memorable track or not. Ballad tend to sound similar so unless it has an element that makes it memorable, it's boring. I assume they didn't choose this track as the main because it's forgetable and suits autumn best. It's not a bad song just boring

6. My heart says (inst)

It's worst without the vocal. doesn't make me want to sing along.

Soreal

Star Empire song choices has always felt lackluster. Despite knowing that, I can't deny I'm less than happy with the song choosen for SoReal.

My Heart Says is a bright ballad song that sounds like a Christmas carol. The song starts with Jang moon and my heart squeals in happiness. I will try to memorize the other members name. I think the group voices matches each other well. Honestly this song bores me to sleep. For a debut song, if it wasn't for my love for Jang Moon, I probably ignore it. It would have been better if they debut during autumn, the season of sappy ballads. Now it's like the worst time to debut for ballad type group.

In the seas of idols, I hope that this group will become popular because we need singers that focuses more on vocals.

Troy

As more I learn about Troy, I find everything surprising. I know bits of Troy through Bumkey and Kanto since these two are more involve in music where as JaeWoong and ChanWoo are mostly cameo.

I didn't really have any expectation but I trust BNM to bring in good music. I knew Kanto and Chanwoo are rappers but I didn't know JaeWoong is one too. So that's 3 rappers 1 vocalist? The opposite of idols...lol.

As I look on their profiles, I find out that Bumkey is the second youngest! I know Bumkey was the leader so I thought he was the oldest considering he is 84 line born and since Kanto is 94 line.. I kinda assume Chanwoo and Jaewoong is similar to Kanto's age. Now we know BNM doesn't age discriminate.

I'm enjoying Green Light more than I normally would, as the genre is not my favorite. I love the dynamic of the song and the synergy between member seem smooth. The voice and style of each rappers are actually different which is easy to differentiate. Kanto's style is aggressive, Chan woo's more laidback and Jaewoong's sneaky? LOL that's what I get from this song.

Good to know that Bumkey is involved in producing the song. As usual, I love his voice. As much I love his solo works, I do look forward for more new songs by Troy.

Long awaited debuts!!!

I am just really excited that two of my long awaited groups have finally debut! Brand New Music's Troy and Star Empire's SoReal.

I have been waiting for SoReal debut sooo long I actually blog about it several times. I wanted Jangmoon to redebut since the disbandment of A'ST1 which was like 4 years ago. I'm so happy, you have no idea!

As for Troy, they were going to debut last year but Bumkey's solo work was great so it got postponed. Anyway.. I trust BNM to bring me more great news.

I will try to do reviews later. So excited.

I'm Loving CN BIue Can't Stop

I'm not big on bands because I'm more of a Pop genre fan but it is always good to switch it up a little.

After their successful debut with "I'm Lonely" I was a fan but after that their music seem similar that I lost interest for a while. Can't Stop change that, this song is fresh and I'm loving it.

The music is rich with instruments, I love seeing Yong Hwa on the piano. I'm a little upset I didn't see orchestra on the video because it would add glamour on the MV.

Speaking of the MV, the model was gorgeous! I love the random props on the video and the set is beautiful. I wish there were more shoots of other members, I know Yong Hwa is the main vocalist but give some love to other members!

I'm not sure how well this song chart but it goes against tough competitors! I hope it charted better.

Mr.Mr

If I don't write anything about the Queen of Idols, I'm a freaking lousy blogger! Joking.

I just watched the MV and as usual, I am mind-blown by SNSD beauties! All of them are so pretty and their outfits, 0MG made for them. Perfect hairs! That messy puffy hair on Sunny is gorgeous! My only complain is those horrible effects. Novelty, yes but it's covering too much of SNSD beauty... Imagine how much beauty without those blinding effects! DIE!

At first, I wasn't loving the song because of the heavy beats and sound effect but I do like it better than IGAB. As I listen to it more, I find the charm in it. I am pretty sure the performance will be better. I can't wait for them to perform this song and slay every idols.

To: Simon & Martina

I still read eatyourkimchi blog because I'm curious if they are going to change for the better now that they had more "Haters".

I can't be bothered by their videos anymore for many various reasons. I share a lot of similar opinions on Unpopular EYK opinions on Tumblr.

Their recent KMM has cause a number of angry posting that got me wonder if it's really bad. I kind of want to watch the video on how bad it could be but I'm going to restrain myself because I don't want to give them more views!

Part of me thinks that I'm jealous of them because they are basically living the live I want. Living in Korea and do bunch of videos? I practically have another live as a Korean (seriously I think I probably was a Korean in my past life, if it exist) and I learned multimedia in college.

Maybe S&M have valid reasons that I can't see through my jealousy? #sarcasm

I think the problem that lies in eatyourkimchi is they do what they think makes more views rather something they actually like. I dislike how they made their own rules but break it anyway. They created a chart for people to vote and yet they refuse to follow it. Isn't it the same as you voted A for president but the party decided B would be president?

My dad once told me "Go back to your roots if you feel like you're going to hit rock bottom'' because you need to refresh on what makes you do the things you do.

I want EYK crew to stop looking at the stat and look back on the old videos. They don't want to be professional and I get that but there is a reason why you gain "Haters".

One Thousand and four

In Korean, thousand four and angel has the same character; 천사 (cheonsa) hence the title meaning of B.A.P. latest track.

I don't exactly remember my first impression of the song but I do love the song now. Eversince Bang Yong Guk's I Remember, I always wanted rock element in hip hop track. . I love the angst in rock genre against the expressive hiphop.

1004 has a rich musical ensemble that makes the song felt impressive. Particularly the intro guitar is attention grabbing. I feel that each part of the song is carefully thought out because the dynamic between members seem smooth.

Congratulation to B. A. P. for their win for this song. I hope more songs like this.

I'm loving Brown Eyed Soul Pass Me By

Soul is a genre that is in the middle for me, I dislike if it's gone to Jazzy but combine it with RNB or Hip Hop, I love it.

Brown Eyed Soul is highly acclaimed vocalist group in Korea so naturally I got intrigued by the news of their comeback. To be honest, I only know 3 of the four. Sorry dude, so I won't talk about the members much.

The intro seems boring and I was close of not listening to it anymore but I wanted to hear SungHun voice so I kept on listening, by the end of the song it is on repeat.

I've been listening to it all day and I can't figure out why this song felt addicting. It doesn't have that typical repetitive hook. I thought the song made me feel calm.

Perhaps it lies in the rhythm? I love the beat and the music has soul. Thank your soul? Lol.

I guess because I'm a big fan of Boyz II Men, I find the music pleasing to the ear.

Variety Guide : The Return of Superman

It's my current favorite variety show now! Shows on celebrities kids has been a favorite with SBS Star Junior Show and MBC Dad, Where are we going? Now KBS join the trend with The Return of Superman.

While the title may confused you with the blockbuster movie, the concept is pretty straightforward, 4 celebrity dads taking care of their child(s) for 48hrs without their wife. The four dads are MC Lee Hwi Jae, MMA fighter Choo Sung Hoon, Epik High Tablo and Actor Jang Hyun Seung.

The childrens are twins Lee Seo Eun and Lee Seo Jun (Lee Hwi Jae),  Choo Sa Rang (Choo Sung Hoon), Lee Ha Ru (Tablo), Jang JoonWoo and Jang JoonSeo (Jang Hyun Seung). Their age varies.. I'm not really good with Korean age system since it's the new year so I'm guessing their age ranking are Joonwoo, Joonseo, Haru, Sarang, Seoeun then SeoJun. ( Although twins are only minutes apart, SeoJun has to call SeoEun, hyung)

Lee Hwi Jae is a late father in his 40's had his twins last March, Choo Sung Hoon ( Yoshihiro Akiyama) is Korean living in Japan with Japanese top model, SHIHO with most taping in Japan. Tablo and actress wife Kang HyeJung has adorable fish-loving daughter, who at first glance look like a boy. Jang Hyun Seung the actor (same name with Troublemaker/Beast member) has two older boys.

The show is fairly new, it would be great to marathon this show. The video is available on KBSWorldTV Channel on YouTube.

Featuring

I love featuring done right, it can be unnecessary at times but for the most part.. I like it.

For example I don't like idols who have featuring. Unless it's the opposite gender, maybe it's okay. It may sound good but idols already have little parts so to give it away to others feels bad.

My favorite featuring is Ailee and Bumkey. For rappers, San.E and Verbal Jint. Special mention Sanchez.

Ailee is a favorite choice among rappers and it's no wonder why. In addition of a great voice, she got the skills. I love her on Immortal Song 2 and I reckon she's great on recording studio. My favourite song by her is "If it ain't love" with Verbal Jint.

I feel like Bumkey is on roll! Maybe because I like him, but I see him everwhere! There isn't a song by him that I hate and that's rare. I even like his stuff during 2wins days. I didn't quite like As One "What are we?" but Bumkey made the song a whole lot better. It's hard to choose a favorite among his featuring. I love Walking in the rain with Verbal Jint, his featuring with Mamamoo "Don't Be happy" is also a favorite. I look forward to more stuff by Bumkey!

While I'm currently into K-Hip Hop, I am not a pro in commenting rappers. I just think whether they have good voice or not. I like the playfulness of San.E rap and Verbal Jint sometimes surprises me with his singing. He sang a short verse in "Come as you are" with Phantom and was pleasantly surprise at his singing!

One of my favorite vocalist ever, Sanchez of Phantom always make me fall in love because his voice is romantic! I remember the first time I heard his voice on Verbal Jint's "You deserved better" and I absolutely had to know more about Sanchez. That's how my love for Phantom began. That song is like Super Junior "Miracle" for me, it holds a special meaning in my heart. Though "You deserved better" is special, my favorite is hands down, "Breakup Dinner" with San.E!

My dream collaboration is Bumkey & Sanchez. It would be interesting for Ailee to feature with either of them too.  I would love to see Verbal Jint to collaborate with rock singers and San.E with G-Dragon or Taeyang for the heck of it!

I'm Loving Junggigo and Soyu Some 썸 feat Lil Boi

This song puts a huge grin on my face because it has all the things I love in a cutesy music.

It such a lovely sweet song that talks about the uncertainties in a relationship. I love the push and pull part of the song that goes well with the lyrics.

I love lyrics that tells a story and I can almost picture the story without the MV. The MV is fine but Baro and Dasom overdid their expression.... nevermind still cute..the colors are so pretty.

Oh my that dream part made me cringe from 2nd hand embarrasment. Haha

When I first heard the news of their collaboration, I thought Junggigo is a rapper because Soyu did collaboration with Geeks and Mad Clown. I was surprised to see Lil Boi featuring on the title...because surely if Junggigo is a rapper he can do it alone? haha

Lil Boi part was short yet it had impact. I like the lyrics, the English usage is good..not the typical English you hear on Kpop.

I hope this song will place in top of the charts.. perfect song for Valentines!

SOMETHING

Is it a plain coincident that both DBSK and Girls' Day released same title track?

Can't believe it has been 10 years since their debut! DBSK is still stepping up with awesome choreography. I'm not fond of the music genre. Anything that features big band sounds like swings or theatre like is not my favorite genre. I am immersed with their carefully thought out choreography. Another masterpiece by SM. It feels like there's no limit in their choreography! I am always amazed.

With their 10th year.. I can't help but to think of JYJ. How great it would have been for them to stand on one stage to celebrate this milestone. I always imagine what would DBSK new song sounds like as 5. I can dream it right?

Switching gears to the ladies...The song is catchy but I am so distracted by MinAh's voice! I never thought how much I hated her voice. Her screeching high notes is unpleasant. I couldn't listen to all of it. I didn't notice it on other song but it felt like it was MinAh's solo song feat. Sojin because I can barely hear Yura and Hyeri voices over Minah..did her mic was turned on louder than the rest?

Their concept totally reminded me of Park Ji Yoon Coming of Age! Their dance is similar in the feel.. it's sexy alright but erghh...girls are getting more showy than ever it's worrying. It's winter in Korea..right? But seeing the amount of cloths in their body tells me it is summer.

Currently Watching

I'm watching Prime Minister & I and One Sweet Word for Mon-Tue slot. As for Wed-Thu slot will start YWCFWS soon after CNY because I am busy spring cleaning.

Wang Family is easy to follow but I hate so many cheesy plot. Maybe I'm such a sour person but ajumma-ajusshi love is vomit inducing for me. Can we just jump to marriage part? If you know you like each other..why act like youngster? Blueek.

Oh yeah recently started Angel Revenge! From the trailer I thought it looked interesting. I do hope it won't be too makjang but let there be a good loveline!

I am seeing that there will be a birth secret...which is a KBS favorite. All their long dramas has at least in one character who doesn't know their parent.

Cheer up Mr. Kim had like 3 birth secrets. I almost flip my table.. only watch for Kim Dong Wan and the kids. Arghh drama if you only focus on the kids..you would have been perfect!

(Rated 19+) Louie of Geeks feat. Boy Wonder - Twilight

I do like when artiste switch it up a little from time to time but I usually like what the artiste is known for.

As I've been listening to more hiphop..I realize how good San.E is, it doesn't matter what kind of concept for the song.. San.E kept on being San.E

To my surprise..and turned into disappointment, this a 180° turn for Louie. Arghh what happen to the Geeky side?

This song is filled with a lot with explicit words that humors me instead of offending me. It felt like they put all the English swear words they know. Kinda like a teenager who just started learning those words.

Putting the lyrics aside, I dislike the song mainly for its repetitive nature.. it gets boring fast.

Your head will be filled with...

ITS A MOTHER FATHER TWILIGHT!!!

Censoring Psy style.. geddit?

I'm loving Ailee Singing Got Better

Staying true to the title.. I believed that Ailee did get better. This song is a great song that made 2014 seem brighter.

It's hard to find flaw in Ailee's singing. I enjoyed her stint on Immortal Songs 2. I guess she does tend to oversing but heck.. if I could I would do too!

What sold me in this song is in the 2nd verse. 갸ㅑ.. that singing technique.. people who never been in love also could relate to that sentiment. It's too good.

The lyrics reminded me of Show You but I prefer this lyric more because it had that personal touch that fiction cannot emulate. I was happy to know that Wheesung wrote it. I knew this stuff must be writen by a singer.

The music in this song is rich with string instrument that makes the song sound very classy. It adds a dignified sense of sadness yet it sound current and modern.

A great comeback by Ailee definitely.

A rant

I'm sorry for starting my first post of the year with this but I am too upset about what I'm reading at the comment section. Honestly I should have stayed away.

The top story of the day is certainly regarding Leeteuk family tragic event. I am upset that his father and grandparents pass away especially so when he is still enlisted and the Lunar New Year is coming. I read some of the comment about how it could have been a suicide. I was almost bought to tears. I experience suicidal thoughts not too long ago that seeing the word it self can produce a tear faster than actors could.

Another article posted conforming the actual cause made me feel gloomy. It something I can relate. I couldn't finish what I was reading because I was afraid that I might cry in public.

Unless you have experience depression and caregiving, you have no idea what it truly feels like to be in their position. I hated reading all of the assumption in the comments section. Depression isn't voluntary! It just fucked up your brain at any given time. There isn't any reasoning behind suicidal. When that thought comes, you have very little control of your mind.

I don't care SM lied. In fact I would have done the same and more. I would have shove money to the reporters to shut up. The father and grandparents aren't public figure that public has to know any of this. Give the family members time to grieve in peace.

As a caregiver, I wish I never know this. It makes me feel weak. Hope is the only thing that holds me. This take some of that hope away. Pray for me that my depression will remain in control.

I hope that what I wrote here make you think twice before passing any judgement. Please use your time with sincere prayers instead of comment section.

HallyuSurfer Total Random Awards

2013 is such an eventFULL year that this post took me days to do proper research. I mean, this is MY award, shouldn't it be simple? There's just too many things to talk about. Some other categories are in their own post.

Most Shocking News Award
Kim Tae Hee and Rain Couple
Se7en massage room scandal
Go Young Wook Scandal
Propofol usage scandal
Gambling scandal
Choiza and Sulli scandal
Ailee nude photo leaked
Park Si Hoo scandal
Son Ho young attempts suicide

Maybe I will do a special post only for Couple news complilation because it's too many to put it on this list. Can I just post every headlines? This year was a good year for gossips. So many things to talk about. Gambling scandal is something I don't think is a big deal but it is illegal in Korea. It affects a number of people in the industry, didn't they learn from Shin Jung Hwan???  With the news of Kim Tae Hee and Rain couple broke out, it spurs more scandal as Rain was still in military. Add Se7en and Sangchu to the mix, celeb soliders are axed. Propofol usage scandal affect celebs I don't really follow but the amount of usage is so high! I hope the celebs reflect on their mistake. For me, the most shocking is Choiza and Sulli scandal, it was so shocking.. That day had 2 other relationship article but everyone was talking about them. The pictures were circulating everywhere.

Best Drama
School 2013
My Daughter Seoyoung
Secret
I can hear your Voice
Suspicious housekeeper

I watch even less drama this year. I got really busy this year and no time for Kdrama marathon. I'm  a Kpop fan, it's hard enough to keep up with comebacks...so yeah, Kdrama got neglected. Overall, it was pretty forgettable. I meant the one I watched. Heirs is very popular but the storyline is too ridiculous, it might kill my brain. I can't handle EunSang tears. I stop early and supported Secret instead. For me, the surprise of the year is definitely Secret, I wanted to avoid this drama but i felt engaged towards Jisung, Hwang Jung Eum and Bae Soo Bin. I want Hwang Jung Eum to win Daesang please! I also loved My Daughter Seoyoung, such a nice drama that made me reflect a lot. If Lee Bo Young won daesang, I would have no problem. Let there be co winners! If somebody else won...would have been disappointed.

Best Gag corner on Gag Concert
Dugeun dugeun ( Badum badum)
Nom nom nom (Three Friends)
The king of ratings
Real Dictionary

A lot of my faves got axed. Huhu! I'm especially sad of Real Dictionary because I enjoyed learning Korean culture through it. I like clever gag corner! I used to like Why we don't need man, but it's predictable. Yellow sea also become boring over time, I think they should alternate Hong Sun Mok with other gagmen. My absolute favorite is King of Ratings! I enjoyed it so much, and pretty sure anyone who loves Kdrama can laugh along to it. Hyo In and Munjae couple in Dugeun Dugeun is so sweet, I can't wait for these two babo to date already!

Best choreography
B.A.P. - One Shot
SHINee - Dream Girl, Everybody
EXO - Wolf, Growl
SNSD - I got a boy
Nuest - Yobeoseoyo
Crayon pop - Bba bba Bba

For someone who can't dance, I'm sure hard to please! I've seen a lot of impressive dance  choreography, it really takes wow factor to make me impress. I dislike overly sexy dance so none of them in this list. Looking at you Trouble Maker and After School! Yes, the song is ridiculous but Bba Bba Bba choreography is cute!! There's so many key pointers for the dance, it's just fun to see the dance. I think SM choreography always top, I love all of their choreography this year.

Top 10 Kpop Loves
10. Sistar (down 3)
9. B.A.P (down 5)
8. SNSD (up 1)
7. Untouchable (up 3)
6. Verbal Jint (same)
5. San.E (NEW)
4. EXO (NEW)
3. Bumkey (NEW)
2. Super Junior (Same)
1. Phantom (same)

Not on the list this year are SHINee, Secret and Beast. I am surprised that EXO is no where on the list last year. I guess because 12 is better than 6? I must be 멍 at the time of writing because Untouchable was on list. They were in military! My boys are back, and I am waiting for moree good music from them! I didn't know how much I love San.e, but I do love all of his release this year, hit after hit and of course, Break up Dinner was my favorite track of the year!  Another new entry, Bumkey! Eversince I got to know his music, I just fell in love with his voice. He has a great music sensibility, the way he plays with his voice is just perfect. I have yet to find track by him that I didn't like. SuJu is inactive right now, focusing more on Japan release (I don't support Japanese promotion..ain't got time for that!) and individual activities but I am bias. Despite being disappointed with New Era, Phantom is still top on my list for 3 awesome sweet song, Like Cho Yong Pil, Come as you are and I already know. I just going to forget about New Era. Erase from data.

Happy New Year 2014!

The Suspicious Housekeeper

I have mixed feelings about this drama. I feel I should enjoy this drama a little more because it's different from the usual Kdrama but it just felt a little flat.

There are bits of parts that I love, but it comes in tiny details. I love how the second son deals with bullies. It's very admirable to watch his story. I wish the mother didn't commit suicide, I could understand parts of it but it's a really difficult topic that needs more attention than just come in a short conclusion. The side story for the father's affair is just annoying. I skipped all of it. The first son's story could have ben elaborated more, I think he has an interesting character to expand more.

The push and pull on whether Bokneo is going to be the mother or not is annoying. I particularly do not enjoy the fact the kids wanted Bokneo as their mother. I understand that they love her but their mother just died. It feels like it escalated too quickly for them to accept Bokneo to be their mother. I had maids all the years of growing up and never once I thought any of them as a parent replacement. The fact they never call them mother makes me wonder even more. The very first step of accepting is calling her mother and they just skip that part.

Seo Ji Hoon is good looking but the whole plot seems so funny. I don't think the writer really know what to do with the whole mystery behind Bokneo story. I find the police detective even more ridiculous. Don't use logic on this because it hurts mine.

In all I enjoy bits of it and seems a good drama to past time.

Wtf Star Empire????

I was browsing through my past post and OMG. Impact not yet debut and it's like 2 weeks left in 2013!

Apparently the name also changed to SoReal. I don't care what name you give, just let my Jangmoon debut already! *flips table

I never waited this long for someone to debut. Okay maybe YG girl group. Lol. BUT you got me excited for too long for nothing Star Empire!!!! Arghhh. I feel like the only person in the world who wants Jangmoon to be active in music this badly. If not...he would have been active already. Gosh. How long do I have to wait?

HallyuSurfer Top Kpop of 2013

I know a lot of Kpop idols and Korean hip hop but it's seriously hard to take time to listen all of them. I need that extra motivation to try listen to new stuff because if I like a song, I want to hear only it until I'm sick of it. I did like a lot of songs this year that isn't on the list because this is TOP choice, not list all likes.

Here is my list in random order

BoA - Disturbance
Dream Girl - SHINee
Symptom - SHINee
Trap - Henry feat Taemin & KyuHyun
Goodbye Summer - f(Krystal,Luna, Amber) feat D.O
Growl - EXO
Baby Don't Cry - EXO

My favorite track from SM is Goodbye Summer. I love D.O.'s voice in the song and I thought the composition is sweet. Baby Don't Cry is also a favorite, been obsessing with the song since I got the taste of it from their showcase and the full version was perfect. I adored Chanyeol's rap part in the song!

If it ain't Love - Verbal Jint feat Ailee
Walking in the Rain - Verbal Jint feat Bumkey
Like Cho Yong Pil - Phantom
I already Know - Phantom
Dutch Pay - Phantom
Did not say anything..- BNR feat Ann
Shaken - BNR feat Sanchez
Attraction - Bumkey feat Dynamic Duo
What you want - Kanto feat Sungkyu
Where did you sleep? - San.E feat Verbal Jint & Swings
Breakup Dinner - San.E fear Sanchez

I'm having a hard time to select favorites....BNM definitely step it up this year! I think my favorite is Bumkey's Attraction BUT with San.E version!  Dynamic Duo version is good but I prefer San.E rap. The song is just my style, it's perfect! I'm a Phantomism, I'd put the whole Phantom Theory mini album on the list but heh..that's too bias. I didn't like Come as you are and New Era as much. The latter, I'm trying hard to forget! Breakup Dinner will be the song I will remember for a long time along with Like Cho Yong Pil.

Call Me - Untouchable feat Andrew Choi
Vain - Untouchable feat Koonta
False Hope - Song Ji Eun

I didn't like any B.A.P. song this year so none of them. I love my Untouchable boys, so definitely on the list. I love their album too! I would blog about it someday. I wished Secret stop singing cutesy or sexy concept. I just want something genuine from them like Song ji Eun solo work.

Black - G-Dragon
Who you - G-Dragon
Do You Love Me? - 2NE1

Taeyang is back but Ringa Linga isn't my style. Seungri's solo did nothing for me. I'm not into weird stuff. I mean anything too abstract isn't my thing. Which is why the list is so short. I'd be excited for Akdong Musician and Winner next.

How are you - Geeks
Give it to me - Sistar
You don't know love - K.Will
Bounce - Cho Yong Pil
Love is - Lim Jung Hee feat Baechigi
Because you're here - Supreme Team feat Crush
Two Melodies - Zion.T feat Crush
Love Me - Seo In Young feat Gaeko
Day By Day - MYNAME feat D.O.
I am Sorry - Lee Jung
Turtle - Davichi
Be Warmed - Davichi feat Verbal Jint
Because of Tears - Ailee

I did like Wash away by Geeks but I prefer the fun side of Geeks. How are you is such a fun song and the lyrics are great! I don't particularly like K.Will's voice, I usually dislike deep voice but I enjoyed his latest single a lot! The song has a meaning that I could relate to and I enjoyed the composition. E-sens left Amoeba Culture so I wasn't sure if the song was released this year.. Wow things happen quickly! It's a shame that they didn't resolve the problem better. I was starting to like the dynamic of Supreme Team. I guess it's pretty obvious I love male singers or rappers better. The lack of female on the list is so depressing. Whatever happen to female power?

My thoughts on Secret Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is always a popular topic, but usually I don't blog about it because my main passion lies in the personality and music..not appearance.

Initially my reaction towards plastic surgery is unfavorable. I couldn't comprehend why would anyone go through voluntary surgery. As time goes by, I accept the culture. I feel that it's not my body, why should I care so much. I think if anyone who does plastic surgery feels better for themselves, go for it. It's more important for you to be happy.

Looking at Secret performance of I Do I Do on Music Bank got me disappointed. Not only they return with another cutesy song but they looked totally different. Sunhwa and JiEun did look similar but I can barely recognize HyoSung and Zinger!

I really hope they're happy with the plastic surgery result but omg.. This is a group I know even before debut got me confused. "Who is this new group?" It was really bad. I'm a fan of Secret, I should be able to recognize them.

Here I am still hoping to see the potential of Secret to be revealed. Why can't we get something like Song Ji Eun solo works for Secret???

Mirae's Choice / Marry Him If You dare

Omg, this drama is definitely another BIG. It has so much potential to be great but grr, can somebody torture the scriptwriter for me? It was a torture to watch but I kept holding on for the cast!

I like open ending but this one sucked so bad. I mean, could you at least give us a solid love line? The push and pull thingie is just so annoying, honey, I love you girl but for the love of God.. Choose already!

I have read that more people rooting for Mirae and SeJoo but Yookyung is one fine lady, nobody would mind that they're together! I think just like BIG, Mirae Choice would have done better without the fantasy element.

KBS World is still showing, and I will continue to watch because Lee Dong Geun is handsome. Damn, please do another drama soon. You're so underused in this drama, too much Ajumma Mirae. Yonghwa should be forever second lead. Reminds me of the good ole You're Beautiful. Love the girls too!

Obviously my Eunhye is forever amazing, I thought no one else can rock that Ajumma perm as good as hers, so sad when she changed it. Han Chae Ah, girl.. You're gorgeous but erhh.. Bad drama for ya.

Variety Guide : 안녕하세요 Annyeonghaseyo Hello Counselor

Hello Counselor is the official English translation of the program, which is good since just "hello" is kind of weird. Hello Counselor is pretty self explainatory.

Each week, four guest all over Korea share their concern and let 140 audience member decide whether their concern is a valid concern. The most votes winner will get to win weekly prize. The limit of winning is 5 times. The MCs of the show is Shin Dong Yup, Lee Young Ja, Cult Twos' Kim Tae Gyun and Jeong Chan Woo. This show is an award winning show and all four MC won KBS award in 2012. This year Hello Counselor and Shin Dong Yup is awarded again on national level.

Along with the MC, celebrity guest of 4 or more comes in the discussion and participate in voting. The guest varies each week, singers and comedian are popular choice but actors and announcers guest too.

The program usually start off with introduction of celebrity guests and talking to the previous week winner. Titles of 4 concern is read and one of the MC will read the concern. Types of concern vary but the running gag is Shin Dong Yeop gets concern that is kind of 19+ rated and Lee Yeong Ja gets food related concern.

Cult Two Kim Tae Gyun and Jeong Chan Woo are famous comedian duo on radio so they are familar with story telling. Kim Tae Gyun is particularly famous for Okhui character, where he sounds like animated female.

This program offers a real insight on today's Korean culture, it is my must watch show for anyone who is interested in Korean culture. It's refreshing to see the general public of Korea, since Kpop idols are all so glitzy. I am sort of sad to say that Koreans in general are attractive too. Where are attractive Korean guys in my life?? Oh right, in Korea.

I'm loving San.E Break up Dinner featuring Sanchez of Phantom

Half way through the song made me squeal in excitement. That's because Sanchez part sets in. I love his vocals in this song. It was flawless. This is what I want from Phantom, to sing or rap songs that brings out their best quality.

For me, as always.. If there's piano playing, I most probably would love the song. I was surprised by the style of song because his previous single was playful and cheeky. I did love his previous singles but this is my favorite style. I like songs that are more sad than happy. Maybe I'm bitter about being single? LOL.

Sanchez, I can talk about your voice all day, and I might just do that in a blog post. I think this is the best of Sanchez I have ever heard. I always fall heads over heels on his voice but in this song just makes me melt. I want more!!! Brand New Music, can I have one single where Sanchez just sings alone?? That would be so awesome!

Although the song is more sad than his previous singles, San.E is able to maintain that same persona. I can feel San.E personality flows through the rap. San.E is on roll! Great songs keep on rolling out, it's a wonder why JYP don't let him promote more. Can you see why I was so excited when he transfer to Brand New Music?

It's been a good year for Brand New Music, I can't wait for new release! Especially from Phantom..because I am disappointed in New Era. GIVE ME SWEET PHANTOM BACK! Or at least a great song that really brings out the best of them. I have nothing against sexy concept, I just want a great song.

What makes me smile :D

Ahhh... Jiyongie, Kwon Ji yong! G Dragon.... 니가뭔데?

I absolutely love Who You by G Dragon! It's so fun and bright! I listen to the song and I can't not move to it. It's such a playful upbeat song.

I love the beginning a lot. It'd be fun to hear the fanchants to it. This song needs fanchant! My favorite of the song is the lively piano accompanion. That brief stop and play part was genius, it builds up expectation and he delivers.

Normally, I dislike random adlib but for this song, it works. It doesn't seem out of place and it is something I would want to sing too. The highlight of the song is "baby I just want you back" part. It's so catchy, I end up singing along.

This songs reminds me of Geek's 어때, which ironically they remind me of GDragon. Based on my limited Korean, 니가뭔데 kind of translate to, "who are you to do this to me?" It's like you're confused on why you like person.

I also really love the MV for this song. It was perfect but of course I was jealous. I wish I could be part of the fans in the video. It's a fun event and you got to be part of the video. It was so sweet of GD to give credits to his fans. My heart melts at the end.

I'm loving Kanto (TROY) What you want featuring Kim Sungkyu of Infinite

Omg it's a Brand New Music and SM collaboration???!! Hah! Okay technically SMC&C but let me feeel! Expect me being bias, but I won't try to cheap on the critic if I had to.

I thought Troy was going to debut this year...what is this Rhymer? Bumkey and Kanto only so far... And it's November already. Nevermind, I like you still give us something great despite the wait.

When the news of collaboration first broke out, I was surprise it was Sungkyu who will be feature. After his solo work, I have the impression he was more rock influenced. So I did come expecting something like Bang Yong Guk's I remember.

Turns out, it was not rock at all... Just straight up hip hop rap track. Honestly I was a little disappointed. However some parts of the song reminds me of Primary, Gaeko and Choiza "? Question Mark" which is one of my favorite hip hop track so this song is easy on my ears.

Kanto sounds matured. I can't believe he's younger than me. I think in this case having two unique vocal color doesn't make it odd. It works well, I'm sort of surprised. It's a good introduction to Kanto rap style.

I really like the MV, as expected by BNM.. Cameos! Troy members are like the king of cameos. Did you notice them on BNR Did not say anything MV? Swings is there as well, but I was surprise by D.O Lee Hyun Do appearance! I wouldn't know if not the "D.O"

I'm hating Miss A HUSH

IHush, don't tell me on Say A...that's the Fanclub name right?

Anyway it was lackluster and I think the occasional "yeah" was off putting. Like YG, JYP artiste sounds okay with English parts but do they really have to put in so much English? I come for the Kpop... As in Korean pop, I don't need English.

Since I am a fluent English speaker, it is only natural that I tend to catch on the English part more. Don't bluff me, say you don't agree that "give it to me" part reminds you of Sistar song!

The choreography is meh. I guess it is hard to live up to their past choreography. It's been a while since their last comeback, is it bad that I expect more? This doesn't seem something worth waiting for.

Honestly I have never been a steady fan of Miss A, it's either okay or no. It's something to grow liking to than something I like right away. This review is based on 1st impression, I may end up humming to this song anyway.

I'm loving Untouchable VAIN featuring Koonta of Rude Paper

Untouchable is back with Bain.. I mean Vain! Do you know that the sound "V" doesn't exist in Hangeul? That's why Koonta was pronouncing it as bain...it's a little awkward but I find it charming.

Koonta's voice is piercing yet attractive. Guy vocal normally lower tone but Koonta's voice is high pitch without sounding like a female. I find his voice strangely addicting. I want to keep on hearing his voice.

I really want to give high praises to Untouchable but I suck at reviewing hiphop. I can't explain in words why I love Untouchable. I just like them. I'm one of those people who think rappers sounds similar to each other. Now that I hear more Korean hip hop, I am better at it.

I do know that Rap isn't merely fast talking and it has to have rhythm. It's also more on lyric wise. I have yet to check the translation but I still believe that music transend through language. I will try to intrepret myself!

Skimp through the English lyrics, I think it talks about their dignity in Korean hip hop scene? Hmmm I think I need to listen more!

I'm hating Phantom New Era Feat Navi

It hurts to write this but OMG PHANTOM WHY????

It's such a huge contrast from their previous single "I Already Know" which was so sweet and lovely to this totally sexy "New Era". OMG ARE YOU TELLING ME, FUTURE STUFF WILL BE LIKE THIS?! Yes, I am MAD, hence the capslock.

I watch anything Phantom, because they are my favorite trio and yeah the teaser is effin porno. I was shocked. MY PHANTOM.......... The MV was less shocking thanks to the teaser. Ahaha what a tease. I think their promotion work this time around since more people are talking about it. I'm sad it has to be like this.

The song was nothing that I love, in fact if they debuted with this... I would not be a fan. It doesn't show the full quality of Phantom's talent like their other previous single. Navi is a singer that I don't really like. I just don't like her voice, she can sing but just not my favorite. The whistle was annoying. I felt the song could have been better. To be honest, I didn't really pay attention to the song while watching the MV. Um.. I'm only human...the MV was hot. Lol even hotter than Troublemaker Now MV.

While watching the MV.. In my head, I was thinking about how Cho Yong Pil would react to this. They freakin sang a song title (to be) ”Like Cho Yong Pil". This is nothing like Cho Yong Pil would do right? Bounce was such a lovely song.......oh gosh why Phantom you do this to me?!

Update : Now that I have actually listen to it several times, I just grew even more disappointed. It is definitely catchy but that's it. Their talent is so severely underuse in the song. The lyrics was good, but they don't expand it further. It's stagnant. Their previous single lyrics, made me think and reflect afterwards. New Era lyrics is just plain.

I am writing this as a fan. I want so badly for Phantom to be popular because they do deserved it but I hate the fact they had to resort into this. Naked teaser and a Naked version MV? You deserved better than that!

I'm loving MYNAME Day by Day feat D.O. (Lee Hyun Do of Deux)

understand EXO is famous but it's annoying to see their fans comment everywhere. It's a little disrespectful. Learn Kpop history for a bit. Lee Hyun Do is a big sunbae! Anyway I am guilty as charged because I ashamedly too, thought it was Do Kyung Soo. I am happy either way, since I love this song! The style of the song is just my style. I love every single beat of the song. I feel it's flawless.

I always thought that idols shouldn't have featuring because they have a rapper and less parts but Lee Hyun Do part is irreplaceable. I prefer having him in the song because it adds a different tone. Idols rapper tend to sound similar to each other.

The MV has a nice color, the scenery is good but I couldn't understand the effects used. There's double people, disappearing and backwards..it's kind of there to add interest without purpose. I do like the sets. It's just nice to look at. I love the fact Lee Hyun Do was included in the MV.

I hate the choreography though. I honestly never dislike a choreography. I thought it's tempo is rather odd and I prefer less movements. The choreography doesn't suit the song at all. I had a hard time watching their performance. I definitely would have skipped their performance had not I heard of the song.

MYNAME is an idol that I overlook because of their name. It's a group that I don't want to be involve. How weird is it to say "OMG, I love MYNAME!" Hahahaa. I know I'm a bad person. Even if you say it in Korean, it still sound awkward.  If their next single is still good, I will make sure I memorize their names!

비밀 (Secret)

I don't want it to be confuse with the same name group, hence the title is in hangeul.

Having been disappointed with "Makjang" genre in the past... I made a vow not to watch anymore of it's kind because it's either ridiculous or too many heart boiling moments that calls you to throw something at your TV.  Makjang, for better explanation do visit dramabeans.com... Is basically contains murder, plot twist and sometimes ridiculous scene.

I missed a lot of dramas this year due to busy schedules, I did hear that this drama is melodrama (it means prepare ya tissue!) but thought nothing of it. I saw the cast did their promotion on Happy Together and it was a fun episode so I decided to support the first episode.

Makjang it is. So many ridiculousness I just know this is bad for me. Curiousity kills the cat, I stuck with it because I want to know how the heck MinHyuk end up with YuJeong. Oh and I want An Do Hun dead. Please scriptwriter, make it happen!

I am not going to reveal anything on the plot because spoiler is not good for this show, you need to watch without spoilers. You need to be on the edge too! The review of Korean audience and international audience seems good, I'd say watch it!

There is an article on the last episode being unpredictable. Yeah right. Pretty sure someone on Soompi forums would have guess it.

Don't continue reading unless you watched this drama.

My prediction, Kwangsoo and his brother might be the one behind it........... You can't go more unpredictable than this.

UPDATE aww man, My prediction was wrong, Ahn Do Hun didn't die. Nevermind the ending was good la, my kind of ending.

Qualification of a Kpop Fan

You may not agree with me in this post but this is my blog and I'm open to discussion.

I was reading comments on blogs and it gets on my nerves to read some of this so called fans. Here are some of the examples

1. I'm a big fan of _____ but I don't always remember all the members name
2. I'm a big fan of _____ but I dislike one member
3. Mention other group or singers

Why do they call themselves big fan? I don't think you have the rights to refer yourself in such way. Remembering members name is the very basic of Kpop knowledge. I'm not asking every fan to memorize their blood types or what kind of food they like. Though, that would qualify you to call yourself a "big fan".

Groups to me is all about teamwork, to dislike or worse, hate on one member is the same as not liking the group. It makes my mind spin to read that kind of comment.

A good way to start a war on the comment section is to comparison. OMG, stop that! I usually ignore because I like too many groups to join a war. It hurts to read though. There should be a rule that you should not mention other group in the comment section! You are not helping your favorite idols! Respect other fandoms.

I do think there is a qualification to call yourself a Kpop Fan. You don't just like the music. You live the Kpop Fan lifestyle.

Good Doctor Review

The thing with Kdrama, regardless of different theme or settings, it always have that typical Kdrama plots. If it ain't broke why fix it? Right?

I do like medical theme drama but I have learn that you should not expect much medical part in the drama. That being said, I think the scriptwriter manage to balance it out. It has few interesting cases but nothing makes me get out of my sest kind of cases.

Honestly I thought the drama was boring. The bits I like is too little. I enjoyed Inhye, nurse Jo and headnurse parts only. The main characters for me, does not feel realistic. I do think Joo Won, Moon Chae Won and Joo Sang Wook are great actors but the way of their character potrayed is just don't feel right.

I think the drama would have been better if it was more focus on Joo Won's character growth than other unnecessary plots. I would also prefer more interaction between ShiOn and Director. Ryu Deok Hwan's cameo did nothing to me....I don't know why it is not utilize properly.

Good Doctor for me, only serves as a good in between drama. I probably won't remember this drama in the future.

Studying Korean

Note : I wrote this post months ago. I forgot to post it up.

How I started to learn Korean is weird. I just find it fascinating that the Thai fans had hangeul on their signboards at the concerts. I go on Aheeyah.com and slowly learn some basic. I find it very interesting to type in hangeul on keyboard so it was something I did for fun. What made me really want to learn hangeul was seeing non kpop fans having Korean names on their profiles. Lol. I was jealous, someone who isn't a Kpop fan have Korean name? Absurd. So I studied more, till I could read without constantly checking the romanization.

Now being able to read Korean is easy, but understanding Korean is not. I think partly because there's a number of ways of expressing in Korean and spelling Korean is hard. I would have tweet more or even used more in hangeul if I wasn't so worried about spelling.

My vocabulary is expanding thanks to watching Kdrama everyday and all I listen to is Kpop. I get little moments of happiness when I'm able to understand Korean tweets. I'm currently studying like 10min per day of Korean by myself. Yo, I'm a lousy student.

If I were to give a tip on how to read hangeul faster, read Korean subtitle on variety program. It usually appear in seconds so you have to pause from time to time. It's basically killing two birds with one stone, you can have fun and study!

This isn't a tip, but I practice writing hangeul for better understanding. It's easy to type on keyboard, however it is more effective to be familiar with writing hangeul. I think? Hahaha still in progress.

I'm loving Lee Jung I am Sorry

I wish for more songs like this! "I am Sorry" by Lee Jung has everything I love in music. Great piano melody, good hook, perfect amount of adlib and so much soul! I love rnb ballads hybrid kind of songs. I'm not a pro in genres but it's close?

I'm fond of Lee Jung since I got to know him in Unstoppable Marriage sitcom. He is a funny and witty guy with great talent. I enjoyed him on Immortal Songs 2, he should just appear permenantly! I wish him more success!

My favorite thing about the song is how Lee Jung projects his emotions, it's just perfect. Some singer has trouble of projecting emotions properly. Lee Jung does it well enough for you to feel it without destroying the quality of music.

The MV is simple and artsy. I dislike the lighting.. You can't really see his face properly. I thought every scene is carefully thought out. The scene with him on the piano is beautiful, when he dance with the drawing girl is just so cute. I thought the dance part could have been projected better.

Koreamie~!

Hello! It's end of May and this my first post of the year. *nervous laugh It's okay..because nobody read this blog right? haha. ...
